Focus On: MAC 231 Small Shader Brush
MAC 231 Small Shader Brush ($17.50) is small, flat brush made out of synthetic fibers. The end is slightly domed/rounded, and the brush itself is pretty small and short. It kind of reminds me of a lip brush, actually! I find myself using this mostly to apply creamy products when I only want them on a specific area. The smallness of this brush allows me to have control over where I want to place the product, and the flatness of the brush allows me to smooth out creamy products easily. I also like using it to apply concealer/foundation around lips when doing a bolder lip look. This is also a more specialized brush, so it is not a must-have for everyone.
How do you like to use this brush?
See close-ups…
Again, i have a dupe for this. (I’m like dupe queen when it comes to the less popular brushes). Mine is from The Body Shop. I use it solely for applying paint pots or cream shadows to my lid. It works fabulous for picking up the product & spreading it precisely & evenly. Nice brush to have.
LOL! It’s all good, girl 😉
This is definitely a must have eye brush for me. I like using it to apply concentrated colour, but also because I have very shallow creases, I can use it to cut my crease. I also find it applies metal & frost eyeshadows superbly.
Awesome! I am glad you like this one, too!
Not a must have but I really like it for lip work – outlining and applying color.
I’m gonna have to try that!
i use this for fluidline and it works great! you should try it.
Really? Interesting!
This one is perfect for gel liner.<3
Really! I wouldn’t have thought to use it for that!
Isn’t this like the baby version of the mac 242?
Kind of, but it’s fluffier.
