LORAC Navy Skinny Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
LORAC Navy Skinny Palette
LORAC Navy Skinny Palette This has now sold out online (it was still up yesterday, boo!!), so your only opportunity will be to see if you can find it in stores. While I liked the Nude palette, I found the Navy one to be rather powdery, particularly when I actually tried to use it and apply the colors to my lid. They just didn’t adhere well, and instead, had a tendency to look both powdery and uneven, plus they didn’t wear as long as the other palette did.
Navy #1 is a light, peachy-beige with warm, yellowish undertones and a soft, pearly sheen. It had good color payoff but was fairly powdery, so it was prone to sheering out when blended on the skin. This shade lasted for seven and a half hours on me. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Navy #2 is a medium-dark, cool-toned gray with a satin finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff, but the texture was on the drier side, so it wasn’t as blendable as I’d like. The color wore well for seven hours on me. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Navy #3 is a muted, medium-dark brown with subtle cool undertones and a matte finish. It had fairly good pigmentation, and the texture was soft and not powdery. The color didn’t start to fade until after eight hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Navy #4 is a golden, olive-brown with a frosted finish. It had decent color payoff, while the powder felt soft and was easily blended on the skin. It wore well for eight hours before showing signs of fading. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Navy #5 is a light-medium taupe with a gray tint and a pearly sheen. It had so-so pigmentation, which was likely due to the soft, powdery nature of the texture, so the color sheered out considerably no matter how it was applied. On the lid, it lasted for seven and a half hours before fading. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Navy #6 is a dark, navy blue with a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff, though the texture was a little drier and stiffer to work with on the skin. I didn’t see any fading until after eight hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.
Navy #7 is a medium black with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was on the powdery side, which resulted in semi-opaque color coverage that was uneven. I had slight creasing after seven and a half hours of wear. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

LORAC Navy Skinny Palette
Yeah, this one won’t be going on my wish list then. But that’s fine, there are two LORAC palettes on there already and three well, three is just a crowd 🙂
LOL! Very true 😉
The palette is pretty boring but I like the packaging.
The packaging was very sleek!
these new skinny palettes look like LORAC is trying to do their version of UD’s Naked Basics.
I think they’ve done these before, but I’m not positive.
Lorac makes some great eyeshadows, but I only purchase the full-price, made in the USA, products. I steered away from these “cheapy” palettes since I figured that with a $15 price tag, they would be made in China…and I was right. I’m not surprised that the quality is so-so since it’s been my experience that there is no consistency in the product if it is made in China.
Sorry to hear you’ve had that experience!
The Nude Skinny palette is great, so it still differs product to product too!
OMG that’s shocking! The swatches look amazing – esp the deep blue. There are going to be a lot of disappointed people when their palettes show up.
It’s definitely a palette that seems better than it is – once I started using it on the eyes, forget it.
Of course I would like both palettes lol. The blue shadow is so pretty! I wish the quality was more like the first one though.
Me too!
I don’t like this one as much as the other one.
I wish this one was similar in quality to the Nude one.
You’d think there would be more then one navy shade. Like a navy with shimmer and a matte one too.
LOL!
I love the navy color! I wish I was brave enough to wear it!
Aww! Maybe on the lash line?
The colours are beautiful and I love the combination in the palette, but it just doesn’t translate, in pigmentation, to the lid! Too bad, but I will shop my stash to see if I can come up with dupes to build the same colour story 🙂
I’m sure you can dupe it 😀
Number 6 (the actual Navy color) is pretty, but not pretty enough to make up for how underwhelming the rest of the palette is…
I hear ya 🙁 Even for $15, I just think it’s one of those palettes that’s too disappointing overall – I would never reach for it!
Hi Christine! Do you happen to remember what you’re wearing on your lower lash line? (Apologies if I missed it, but I don’t think I saw it listed — is it a separate eyeliner?) Thanks! 🙂
I think it’s Marc Jacobs Stone(fox)!
Ah! Thank you, Christine! Stone(fox) was on my list of MJ liners to try — I LOVE the formula and its staying power on oily skin!
Hi Christine, thank you for reviewing this!! I have had hits and misses with Lorac lately, I have noticed that these slim palettes they are coming out with are not good at all, I bought the After Glo palette at Ulta and had to return it do to its lack of pigmentation. The Pro palettes are awesome like their singles, I don’t know why they keep missing on these other ones, I wish they would stick with their same great formula like in the Pro palettes.
I liked the Nude one, but this one was just a mess to actually use!
Whoa, that’s a huge difference in performance between the swatches and actual application. Do you think these would work better over a primer?
They will definitely be better over a primer, but you’d have the best luck over a primer with a little tack to it – like a cream eyeshadow!
Too bad this one didn’t perform as well as the nude palette, but I’m glad they’re successful. I hope Lorac will continue to make this smaller palettes
Hopefully they’ll be more consistent, too!
Ick! Looks more like a D 🙁
It was a disappointing palette! 🙁
Why oh why do they call it a navy palette with only one navy colour? There are way too many neutrals in this palette with that horrible black matte colour at the end. Very disappointing.
That was my thought, too!
This palette is much more ‘my’ colour scheme than its sister, but aside from the fact that I’m glad the navy shadow is actually navy (and not that oft-encountered thing of it being a black shadow with blue shimmer when swatched), the rest of the palette is a bit underwhelming!
I wish they had some more gray/blue in this palette!
I got this for $15, and feel it was worth that. I don’t think I would have paid full price. It’s my first time using LORAC. The colors are nice for the most part, and last a long time. I found them to be a bit powdery, which surprised me. The #1 color was the worst. The navy and black are kind of powdery, too, but the blue is really beautiful and lasted really well with primer.
Their eyeshadows in their larger, more expensive palettes are much, much better and less powdery than this one!
Good to know. I’ll have to try those. Thanks!
Please compare Lorac Navy #4 with Urban Decay Brokedown. Is similar they are?
