LORAC Dance 'Til Dawn Eye & Cheek Palette Review, Photos, Swatches
Dance 'Til Dawn
LORAC Dance ‘Til Dawn Eye & Cheek Palette ($18.00 for 0.532 oz.) includes two blushes and six eyeshadows housed in a slim, cardboard palette. If you tend to like LORAC’s softer formula and use primer, I think you’ll like the palette overall, but it did run softer and looser in the pan, so there was some fallout during application and reduced longevity (without a primer) for me.
Dance 'Til Dawn
LELimited Edition. $18.00.
Dance 'Til Dawn Blush #1
Dance ‘Til Dawn Blush #1 is a light-medium peachy-coral with warm undertones and a golden sheen. The consistency was soft but quite dusty, so the color payoff ended up looking semi-sheer as the blush sheered out and did not stick well to my skin. It applied better to my cheeks in practice, as the skin on my face wasn’t as dry as my arm, though. The color wore well for seven hours on me.

LELimited Edition.
Dance 'Til Dawn Eyeshadow #1
Dance ‘Til Dawn Eyeshadow #1 is a soft, yellowed peach with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good pigmentation, but the texture was dusty and thinner, which resulted in the eyeshadow blending away to more like semi-sheer coverage without a solid primer underneath it. On its own, it showed signs of fading after six hours of wear.

Dance 'Til Dawn Eyeshadow #2
Dance ‘Til Dawn Eyeshadow #2 is a white gold with warm, yellow undertones and a frosted finish. The pigmentation was fantastic, while the texture was smooth, blendable, and not too soft or too firm in the pan. It applied well to bare skin and lasted for seven and a half hours on me.

Dance 'Til Dawn Eyeshadow #2
LELimited Edition. $19.00.
Dance 'Til Dawn Eyeshadow #3
Dance ‘Til Dawn Eyeshadow #3 is a muted, medium orange with warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. The eyeshadow had a dustier, thinner texture, which made it harder to work with on bare skin, so I’d recommend a primer as a must-have with this shade. It had good pigmentation and blended out well, but it was hard to maintain the opacity. It lasted for six and a half hours before fading.

Dance 'Til Dawn Blush #2
Dance ‘Til Dawn Blush #2 is a bright, light-medium pink-coral with warm undertones and a satin finish. The blush had good pigmentation, though it was not completely opaque. The texture was a touch dusty but felt softer and more finely-milled than truly powdery or dusty. It started to fade on me after seven and a half hours of wear.

Dance 'Til Dawn Eyeshadow #5
Dance ‘Til Dawn Eyeshadow #5 is a dark bronze with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had opaque color coverage paired with a smooth, blendable texture that was slightly cream-like but not quite as dense as a true cream. The eyeshadow applied beautifully to bare skin and lasted for eight hours.

Stunned at how poor those blushes performed! My LORAC Pro palette is my favourite beauty product of all time so I think this palette is a huge miss!
The original Pro was nice!
I’ve enjoyed this palette. The colors work well with my fair skin. I’m glad I purchased this one instead of the other two LORAC holiday palettes. I reach for this one at least twice a week. 🙂
Awesome, Robin! Do you use it with any primer or base?
I use Benefit’s Lemonade under shadows. So that probably helps.
Love the eye look you did, but pretty sure these shadows won’t survive on my oily lids, even with primer
I could see your lids eating the formula!
The colors are pretty, and I am digging the retro look of the palette itself, but I think this will be a pass for me.
This one is one of those palettes that doesn’t inspire strong feelings either way!
Ooh, lovely daytime palette! I don’t have dupes for some of those, but I do like my Stila A Whole Lotta Love palette from last Holiday season so I’m happy with that. But I do like the shimmery yet subtle shades in this palette.
You’re totally right, Claire, it would work well for daytime!
The 3 metallic eyeshadows look wonderful! Both blushes look okay, not great, but still usable over foundation I would imagine? Idk, but it’s in the “maybe” category for me.
The shimmers are nice! 🙂
But yes, definitely a bit more oomph over foundation!
Hmmm not my kind of palette.
Money saved 🙂
The price and one or possibly two of the shadows are the only things that excite me about this palette.
Easy skip, especially since I know LORAC isn’t the easiest to get!
It looks like, if you really liked the colors that do perform decently, this palette could still be worth it, in spite of the duds. The colors are pretty, if not especially inspired.
And if you use primer, then for the price, it’s not bad.
This screams ‘spring’ to me. I’d be interested in checking it out in store were it not LE, and also had it scored a bit better.
It’s definitely not typical holiday, lol!
Thanks for the review! I got this palette last month and returned after a couple of uses. I rarely return anything but the pigmentation of its blushes and mattes are far below average. Shimmers are ok but look very muddy on my NC15 skin. It’s like Too Faced nightmare coming back again.
My pleasure, Judy! 🙂
The shades are really pretty and the blushes are fairly universal colours (love the first one), but the ratings are a bit average. I get the feeling that not a lot of thought has gone into this palette to make it more original. It seems like it should be a spring or summer one too.
It’s just a so-so palette – not the worst, not the best!
Had to laugh, bec I think this is the first palette review ever, from which I have zero dupes. Considering I only like #6, not surprising. But with a horde/hoard of palettes, I figured there’d be at least one. Those holes in stash belong there. The past few lip posts have been pretty similar. I actually like it, when the season rolls around to shades that don’t appeal or flatter me. Money saved or low buy is a great thing.
Zero dupes? No way! I did not think a day would come… 😉
I would use all of these but eye shadow #1!!
Iv always wanted to try Lorac, but it’s SO hard to get, here in Canada!!!!
I wish they would expand distribution!
I’m surprised it didn’t score better being Lorac but I like the look you reated on the eyes. My favorite shade is #6 and I might have to break down and get the Guerlain shadows… maybe if nothing for spring catches my eye.
Thank you, Erin!
If anyone’s interested in this palette for spring, it’s now only $10 at Ulta, online only. FYI
For what it’s worth, I bought it at the $10 price point and have been very pleased. I adore the cream with the yellow undertones and gold shimmer…it makes my forgettable grey/blue eyes literally sparkle! Win.
