Sneaky bright colours for hooded eyes
About this Look
I’ve had hooded eyes my whole life, which can make it difficult to approximate a lot of popular makeup looks. On the other hand, it also allows me to do things like “surprise” pops of colour, where the boldness of the look is only visible from certain angles.
Step-by-Step Guide
All of the shadows I used were in the MUFE 15 Artist Shadow Palette, but they're all permanent as well. I didn't blend much along the lid, because it would look like mud.
Pearl (I528) - inner corner and browbone
Lagoon Blue (D236) - middle of lid
Electric Purple (I992) - outer third of lid (this one is only supposed to be used as a blush, so don't tell anyone what I did)
Black Rose (D830) - used to darken the outer corners (not really visible as a separate colour)
Nars Black Valley Eye Paint - upper lash line
Stila Mile High Mascara
Hourglass Ambient Lighting BLush - Mood Exposure
Nars Audacious Lipstick - Apoline
I love this look, Kate. The surprise pop of color is beautiful. I have had hooded eyes all of my life but they have become even more so following Botox injections for migraines. I thought I would get rid of my 11’s but nooooo, I got more hooded. Not much I can do about it as migraines make life unbearable. Anyway, thanks for sharing your beautiful eye look.
I’m another hooded eye person and I am so impressed! Your eyes really don’t look hooded at all with the makeup you did. Very, very nice job! 🙂
Gorgeous! Love the color combo and the little mini wing liner! I’m going to give it a shot.
