About this Look
Here’s an eye look centered around Dose of Colors’ limited edition spring/summer collection along with their permanent neutral palette, plus I somehow managed to match everything perfectly to my current-favorite earrings… Don’t know how that happened as it was truly unintentional! 😉

I just love your eye looks Christine! In particular I love how you often include a pop of color on the lower lash and/, or waterline. I’ve tried to emulate it but yours always looks superior to my attempts. Any tips?
Hey Shannon,
When you do it, what do you feel is different/off about it? A couple general tips: use a pencil brush to smudge/blend the liner if it doesn’t seem even and use a powder eyeshadow to soften to diffuse/blend out the edge.
Ah I haven’t tried using a powder shadow to diffuse the edge. I’ll try that, thanks!
I am going to try that as well. Thanks.
Shannon, sometimes it’s just a matter of getting used to a look that’s new for you. I’ve gone through this a few times (teal eyeshadow, MAC Impassioned lipstick….) and what I find helps (and Christine might have even suggested this) is wearing it around the house a few times – when you’re not going somewhere – and as you catch sight of yourself in mirrors or reflections from windows, etc., you slowly become less “alarmed” at the sight of something quite new and different on your face. It’s worth a try!
That’s a great idea. I do tend to wait until I have somewhere to wear a new look to befit trying it. Makes sense to practice when the stakes are low 😉
The earrings are so cute! I love all your earrings I have seen so far, pretty and fun.
Thank you, Kalliela!
Love the eye makeup. You look beautiful.
Thank you, Lily!
This look is sooo gloriously late summer into fall feeling! I have a thing for pairing orangish shades with teal myself. It just works somehow!
When in doubt, use teal!
This is a great eye look. Do you think her baked brown palette is too similar to the matte eyeshadows in naked heat?
It might be, though I think these are more brown-based than red/plum, but I haven’t gone over dupes for this palette yet.
Very nice. Do the earrings have hummingbirds? I think I see wings! Fun!
They do! 🙂
So many times I’ve thought how much I like your warm shadow/teal liner combos, but I have yet to try it myself. Time to get on the ball!
Hope you can try it 😀
This look with those earrings is just perfection!
Thank you, Betty!
Your eye looks are always so gorgeous and perfectly blended! My colors end up looking so muddy, I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I use clean brushes for blending and smaller brushes for precision. Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong without my sending you a video showing my application? XD (that would frighten you, no doubt).
Hey Tara,
I usually go lightest to dark, which I find helps, and the other thing I find particularly useful is always making sure to take a step back and look at everything from a “normal” distance rather than only working close-up.
What I love the most of all your looks is that you don´t use falsies or black eyeliner on top as the main mass of makeup tutorials you can find around. Gorgeous colors, amazing girl. Thanks! I will try it for sure.
