About this Look

Here’s a fun, smoky eye featuring new shades of NARS eyeshadows (both singles and duos) — I was really pleased with the color combination, as it mixed a cooler girl with purples and blues and even silvers! I didn’t expect everything to mesh as well as they did!

P.S. — The details on the left eye are here.

This one belongs in the Museum of Looks. That outer vee is a masterpiece. The best looks are always so integrated and blended that they look deceptively simple, when in fact, they are complex and labor intensive. You have taught us how to see eye looks in an ‘art appreciation’ manner. This can be/is lost on the general public. Customer or friend: ‘You have on two colors of eye shadows!’ in a tone of surprise. Response: Gee, thanks.’ Mental response: ‘It’s five, you dolt, and it took more than a half hour!’ Which only highlights the nature of makeup as creative self expression (and who cares what the uninitiated think!)
