About this Look

I needed to put together a look using MAC’s new #Chromatbabe Super Pack Eyeshadow Palette, which is a bold set of shades!  I hesitated to use the orange with the rest of the shades on the eye and initially planned to apply it on the lower lash line, but I was like, “No, just do it, we’ll just see how badly it goes.” I wish I had committed to it from the beginning as I would have applied the orange first, then black, because that would have been easier to blend out.  (I had gone for a very deep, dark crease with a lot of black originally!)

Step-by-Step Guide

  • Inner lid: Triennial Wave
  • Middle of lid:  Duabandita
  • Outer lid:  Blue Black
  • Crease:  Structured Satin
  • Above crease:  Sabina Sangre
  • Brow bone: Trench
  • Lower lash line:  Chaos, Triennial Wave

I really like this look, very unconventional colors next to each other and I think it works. The colors remind me so much of the ones from Lime Crime’s Venus 2 palette.

You have a real talent for throwing a bunch of colors together and transforming them into a cohesive look! I am just amazed by your knack for color harmony.
Could you please help me find a quick way to look up YOUR eye looks on Temptalia(dot)com? Sometimes I struggle and get overwhelmed by seeing all the colors in the eyeshadow palette but I think having you as a reference would help immensely. I have a few palettes that I don’t reach for as often as I should be because of these reasons.

This reminds me of — and I mean this in the best way possible — the Mary Quant invasion of cosmetics in the late 1960s and early 1970s. She took bland and predictable and shook everything up. Good times. Looks awesome on you!

I really love this look!!! So gorgeous! For my own wear, I’d love to recreate the top lid and instead of blue on the lower lash line use a mix of what was used on the upper. I have several orange red colors, but wonder if Mac’s Club eyeshadow could sub for Duabandita? Anyway, love love love!

Lindsay, seeing Duabandita “in action” in this look is the thing that grabbed my attention (I had no interest in this palette because several of the colours are simply unappealing to me). But seeing Duabandita, my mind ran through my list of similar shades – MAC Club and also Too Faced Label Wh*re (discontinued now, sadly, but I’ve got a nice pan of it).
