Looks - Super Smoky Black, Green, and Gold Eye

I don’t think I’ve done three days of makeup in quite awhile! For some reason, the upper “liner” is 1) not very prominent, 2) looks separated from my lash line even though when I applied, it looked fine. Don’t you hate when you’re all good to go, then you upload photos, and you’re like, “Oh, oops!” I had a totally different vision for the upper liner (I wanted something dark but glimmering with gold flecks), so maybe it was all the stuff I did to it that made it kind of wonky in the end, LOL.

Thanks for all the encouragement, I always appreciate it 🙂 It really does inspire me!

I used Emerald Green pigment all over lid, Goldmine eyeshadow on inner crease, Wondergrass eyeshadow on lid, Humid eyeshadow on middle of lid, Carbon eyeshadow on outer lid and crease, Goldmine eyeshadow above crease, Golden Lemon pigment dusted all over lid (then gently swished over the lid, going back and intensifying the original colors of Wondergrass & Humid), Nylon eyeshadow on brow bone to highlight, Femme Noir eyeshadow along upper lash line, Blitzed glitter liner along upper lash line, Carbon eyeshadow along upper lash line, Feline kohl power on lower waterline/lash line, Goldmine eyeshadow on inner tearduct and inner lower lash line, Humid eyeshadow on outer lower lash line, and Plushblack plushlash mascara on lashes (top and bottom). I wore Other Worldly blush with Daisydust beauty powder on cheeks. I had Brew lipstick with Pink Grapefruit lipglass dusted with Reflects Bronze glitter on lips.

OMG…That has to be the hottest smokey eye I’ve ever seen. Green is my favorite color of the moment, it goes so well with every skin tone. I’m going to try this look when I get home.

Wow, Christine, you’re gorgeous!! We share the same eye colour, but I’ve always been afraid of greens. I only have Greensmoke, which is almost grey. Do you think I could try and copy your look?

Christine Avatar

You’re afraid of greens?!! Hold my hand, and I’ll take you to green paradise 🙂

Greensmoke is a really pretty color, I like it for when I want to do a really smoky and deep olive eye. It looks really great with Sumptuous Olive. It’s going to be too dark to replace a color like Wondergrass, so I don’t know if it would really work to give you the same effect. It’d be fine as a replacement for the crease area (like Femme Noir).

Thank you!

This is an amazing look on you. It gives me an idea of how to use Humid. I’ve had it for a few years, but haven’t used it much. hehe Not only is your makeup flawless, your hair is the perfect finishing touch for the look. Fantabulous job!

rosa Avatar

Gorgeous! I love this look… did you change the way you shaped the shadow around your eyes? it looks reallyyy different in the full face view (in a good way–dramatic!)

amy Avatar

WOW.. this one looks amazing!!!

quick question.. do you curl your eyelashes before or after putting on plushblack mascara? i curl mines before and they still seem to bring the curl down =(

Skyler Avatar

Holy CRAP! This is AMAZING. I love the colours, I love the lip colour, and I love the look itself on YOU. Greens really bring out your eyes. This seems product-heavy and I know it’ll take a while to apply, but I’m definitely going to try this tomorrow since I actually have everything. 😀 I heart greens.

Cish Avatar

wow. we share the eye color, hair color and somewhat even the skin color. I’ve never tried a green smokey eye, but after seeing it on you I definitely gotta try!

wow again. and thanks! 🙂

Christine, Christine!

I absolutely LOVE this look on you! I wore a smokey green eye the other day and got mucho compliments on it. I need to do it again but this time use Goldmine like you have here! Thanks for the inspiration!

Erin Avatar

This is gorgeous Christine!!!! And the lips look very similar to how mine look with Lollipop Loving and Sock Hop with those green reflects from the lipstick.

natasha Avatar

green smokey eye is my fave way to wear my green e/s. adding goldmine is such a great idea. i sometimes use amberlights but goldmine is a better combi. thanks for sharing : )

Elaine Avatar

Totally beautiful, you really suit green….I am always to afraid to try greens, but perhaps I should (I have browny/hazely eyes) You finished the look of perfectly with that lipcolour too…very pretty indeed

Amy Avatar

OOOH, I LOVE this look!!! I’m a big fan of using greens in the summer (too pale in the winter!). And I just adore the coral lipstick/blush combo on you!! You should wear corals more often!! Very very flattering!!!!!!!!!

Theresa Avatar

I am currently going through a smoky eye period and what better timing than to have you include colours like gold and green! For the life of me, I never would have thought that Goldmine or Wondergrass for that matter, could be used to combine to create a smoky gold-green look!!!

Am so freaking excited to try this look coz (except for the pigments and two es – Nylon and Femme Noir), I happen to own all the other colours you used 😉

And oh, did I mention that you look super duper gorgeous too?

Faiza Avatar

high five Christine !!!! :):):)

Tina Avatar

Those lashes are the longest I’ve seen on you! It must be an awesome mascara! Also the green colours really go well with your eye colour. I’ve never seen a green smokey eye this good!

K Avatar

You look HOT! You can really pull off a smokey eye. I actually think it’s good that the upper liner isn’t too prominent – your mascara is SO flawless in this set of photos and it stands out better without dark liner covering it up.

JennBee Avatar

Absolutely gorgeous!! You look amazing with greens!

I can’t believe your awesome photos, too… I read through your photo help post and still could never get mine to look like that. You have the eyes of a model, naturally! So pretty. 🙂

Angi Avatar

Wow, this makes your eyes the most beautiful golden brown. I now know exactly what it means when someone says “that shadow color makes your eyes pop”. It is really lovely on you

Pia Avatar

christine-you look totally fantabulous. I love green and have put humid on my must-buy list.
btw, how different is smolder, ebony, graphblack and feline in terms of fierceness? mac here doesn’t carry feline.

LUC1 Avatar

HEY GIRL, I THINK I AM MORE FASCINATED BY THE WAY YOUR EYEBALL LOOKS AND HOW GREAT YOUR CAMERA TAKES A GOOD PICTURE.YOU CAN SEE EVERY LITTLE DETAIL IN YOUR EYE!

GG Avatar

You look insanely gorgeous. This is your BEST, BEST look so far. I love your light peachy lips with the vivid green and the yellow gold all around only serves to bring out the green. LOVE ALL YOUR WORK!

Summer B. Avatar

In a totally hypothetical situation…if i wasnt in LOVE with this site before..(which i OBVIOUSLY was) then this look…would have totally done it! Hands down. You are my BEAUTY IDOLLLL!

Connie Avatar

That’s an excellent look! I used to wear alot of green and actually I’m still very much attracted to green but I find that I’m seldom doing green looks now. I find it hard to find really good green colors lately. Oh, I miss greens so much!

Kharina Avatar

Christine,
Nice look here! I am now starting to really *LOVE* greens. Can’t wait for new green shades to come out. I have a question about the glosses you wear. On average, how long do they last you before you see that you may need to re-apply? And since I am a newbie with MAC, do these glosses ever chap your lips? I find that glosses of other brands do, so I’m just curious. Thanks 😉

Christine Avatar

Thanks, Kharina! I’m all about greens, too 🙂

I can have my lip combo last as long as 8 hours if I don’t eat or drink. If I happen to drink, it’s usually four hours. If I eat, not so much then!

But no, I don’t find that MAC glosses chap my lips at all!

christy Avatar

that reminds me of the colors or camo! haha, very cool! are most of your looks made with mixing medium? i always do mine dry but im seriously considering picking up some glycerin so i can do vibrant looks too!

julie Avatar

would forest green pigment work as good as emerald green? Thank so much!! By the way you ROCK!! your make up looks awesome I hope I can get a hold of some of these colors( wondergrass, golden lemon, emerald green) I am dying to try this look!!! If you ever get a chance to do a tutorial I would love to see it!

Teresa Avatar

The green smokey eye is absolutely stunning on you. As others have mentioned, this is also one of my favorite looks for you – it “REALLY” makes your brown eyes pop. You’ve inspired me to try this look as well!!!

Olivia Avatar

You look amazing, so much I would like to copy this style for prom. Are all the colors MAC products? If I don’t have these, can I substitute them for some other brand?
XOXO

danielle Avatar

i LOVE the green smoky look! i do it all the time. the mac products are so good but i’m experimenting with another cosmetic brand, Urban Decay. and i love the Maui Wowie e/s.
you look fabulous with the smokey green look.

claudia m. Avatar

omg, i can’t believe i almost missed this look, i love it. I’m so hooked on green eyeshadow right now, and this is absolutely the best combo ever! I need coral lips/blush asap! let me re-read this and get the names of the products to make this happen (or die trying!!!lol!!!!)
*p.s. love the pix w/ your hair down.

julie Avatar

Absolutely perfect! Just what I needed; I’m going to a wedding on New Years Eve and I have a emeraldy green dress with gold accents. I will definitely try a toned down version of this for the occasion!

You’re so brilliant, Christine!
