Looks - Sunny Yellows and Oranges

The horseback ride was pretty nice, though I can certainly feel it today! I call it the “Triangle of Pain,” because you feel it on about three points at the seat of your pants. It’s not fun. I’m praying that the Zipline harness doesn’t overlap those points, because I imagine the harness itself might make me a bit sore, too! I told the boy that when I came home, I’d be an “Octagon of Pain.” Hawaii’s been great for the most part, but I haven’t slept well at all, so it’s starting to take a toll on me! I keep going to bed and getting that sleep where you wake up 20 times, and each time you do, you feel like you never even went to sleep at all!

The look I’m sharing with you today is what I wore to go horseback riding. It seemed like it was going to be a good day, weather-wise, and sure enough, perfect! Breezy and not too humid or hot aka my makeup wouldn’t slide off the first step I took outside. Today, I’m going to go pretty bare-faced for the Zipline adventure (we picked the 8am time slot), but I’ll put on my “real” face later, LOL.

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (creamy neutral base), Going Bananas eyeshadow (frosty yellow), Fab & Flashy eyeshadow (frosty orange), Bold & Brazen eyeshadow (bronze with pink), Dark Edge eyeshadow (matte dark brown), Ricepaper eyeshadow (neutral highlighter), UD 24//7 Stash Eye Pencil (dark gold), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Margin blush (dirty pink)
  • Lips: Swelter slimshine (bright coral), C-thru lipglass (nude)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Going Bananas = Bright Sunshine; Fab & Flashy = Juiced (not a great dupe); Bold & Brazen = Twinks; Dark Edge = Brun; Swelter = Skew

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. Apply Going Bananas eyeshadow to inner third of the lid using the 239 brush. Follow by applying Fab & Flashy eyeshadow to the middle of the lid. Darken outer lid with Bold & Brazen eyeshadow. Apply Dark Edge eyeshadow into outer crease to deepen, using the 239. Soften harsh lines with Going Bananas eyeshadow swept above crease. Highlight brow with Ricepaper eyeshadow. Line lower lash line with UD 24/7 Stash Eye Pencil. Sweep apples of cheeks with Margin blush using the 129. Apply Swelter slimshine to lips, and then top with C-thru lipglass for color and shine.

Ooo! The zipline is so much fun! The harness should miss all the sore points from horseback riding, except for the inner thighs, but it shouldn’t make you more sore.

So pretty! I love your lips here, too–I wish Swelter was permanent! Hope you’re not in too much pain after the trip πŸ˜‰ Pop some Advil or something ahead of time as a preventative measure!

What a perfect vacation look! Can’t wait to try it (TONIGHT!! bff’s 21st). hahahah at the octagon of pain, better take some aleve! And I feel you, I can’t sleep in strange places either.

Thanks! Ohh, happy 21st to your bff! πŸ™‚

I’m a PENTAGON of pain currently (my knees have a dull ache from the horseback riding). It’s not too bad, just when I walk and initially sit down, haha!

LOL, thanks, Nell!

Oh, I brought a fair amount. I will probably take pics when I get back on what I brought! (I meant to do it beforehand, but ran out of time.)

You look so at ease on the horse, hope you’re enjoying the holiday! I tried horseriding ages ago, and every part of my body ached!

The highlight of this look is the lips! Love it. Totally matches Margin.

This is a great look. How long ago was Going Bananas released?

Also, I was wondering what mixing medium you use in other posts. I need it! How do you apply it?

Hi Jaime,

It was released with C-Shock, so I think it was a year ago.

I use 1 part glycerin (liquid) and 3 parts water πŸ™‚ I put a drop or two on my brush, pick up some pigment, and that’s it!

Whee, zipline! Always wanted to try that. Have loads of (painless) fun christine!

Oooh, I love this look as well! So summery and bright and cheerful. The colors look wonderful on you too. Love the pink lips as well!

Hey Christine! These shades look very nice and fresh on you! Wow, I wish I was in Hawaii right now. Enjoy your time out there!!! πŸ˜‰

Good god, are you wearing ballet flats on that horse?? I’m shocked they allowed that! You could have been dragged so easily…

But the makeup’s lovely and subtle.

is that a the koolau ranch?
i went there once.
& that looks like the same horse i rode.
great look.
i love it.
how’s your trip to hawaii going?

Yeeha! You look like a natural born cowgirl! I know whats different, you have more subtle looks than your BOLD DIVA BITCH IM HOT looks lol I really liking these simple looks. You look great either way! Oh I want to see more pictures when you get back πŸ™‚

You look so pretty with this look~ Perfect for the summer:)
Enjoy your holiday^^
And i can’t to see what you brought along with you on vacation!!

I was just looking at old Urban Decay posts and saw this…how DID you like the zipline? I know when I did this leadership trip for Job Corps, we got to go on the zipline and I looooved it πŸ˜€

It was fun, but I’m not much of a thrill seeker in general, and surprisingly, not scared of heights. I think I was expecting more!
