Look - Smokey Eyes with Gray and Silver
It’s been SO long since I’ve done the “traditional” smokey eye, so I had the urge to try it out again 🙂 I’m spending my weekend cramming/studying for my Stats and Managerial Accounting finals on Monday (yay, back-to-back finals, so awesome!). I’m meeting up with some study buddies for Stats in an hour — I’m hoping it will really help bring things together for me.
What are you doing this weekend? Let me live vicariously through you so my weekend isn’t a total bummer!! 🙂
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral base), Electra eyeshadow (bright silver), Silver Ring (dark silver), Carbon eyeshadow (matte black), Shroom eyeshadow (highlighter), Graphblack technakohl (black), Blacktrack fluidline (black), Zoomlash mascara (black)
- Cheeks: Well Dressed blush (soft cool pink), Dior Rose Diamond Skin Shimmer (pink highlighter)
- Lips: Sandy B lipstick (pinky nude), C-Thru lipglass (nude)
- Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: N/A
Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Electra eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Silver Ring eyeshadow to the middle of the lid, extending to the outer lid. Darken the outer lid Carbon Flip eyeshadow using the 239. Darken crease with Carbon eyeshadow using the 226. Sweep Shroom eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Smudge Silver Ring eyeshadow on the lower lash line using the 219 brush. Finish with Graphblack technakohl on lower lash line, Blacktrack fluidline on upper lash line, and Zoomlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Well Dressed blush using the 129, then highlight with Dior Rose Diamond Skin Shimmer with the 188. Apply Sandy B lipstick to lips, and then top with C-Thru lipglass for color and shine.

I’m totally late when it comes to getting on the loldog train, but I uploaded Mellan onto the site 😉
i really like this look! especially loving the nude lip with the smokey eye — i might have to try this look out, I have some silver shades that Im never quite sure what to do with (i usually go for gold or purple).
Thank you, Courtney 😀
Iadore silver smokey eyes! I like adding gray to the crease though not black. I have to try silver ring e/s!!
Thanks, Crystal!
Love the lip combo as well!
Thanks so much, Lisa!
aw, Mellan makes a cute LOLdog. 🙂
Haha 😉 Thanks!
I love it!!!
Thanks, Andrea! 🙂
Great look 🙂
You have finals already?!?! I’m glad I’m not in your shoes. Although I’m not doing anything much more exciting…I’ll be working on my Finance Fixed Income assignment #3 and case study, as well as a group paper for Business Economics. Then off to a group meeting for my Finance Capital Investment case study…
Haha…have fun studying!
Thanks, Shayla! 🙂
Yeppp, finals! Luckily they are over now. Good luck on all of your papers and case studies!!
amazing look! i think this might be my fave on you.. that lip and the eye go great together!
Thanks, Manda! Glad you liked this combo!
Thank you for doing this look. I have electra e/s and never really knew what to use it with.
No prob, Christina 🙂
Beautiful look! I’m going to try it today! Are you going on spring break soon? You poor girl-I feel your pain. I had two twelve hour clinical rotations at the hospital last week, 3 midterms, and 2 group projects for nursing research and my pathophysiology class-i NEVER thought I’d make it to the weekend. This weekend-my boyfriend and I are redecorating our apartment, so I’m looking forward to a trip to the container store and a nice new, organized place!
Thanks, Gemma! 🙂 Nah, I have “spring break” but only off of business school — still have my law classes to go to! It’s like half a spring break 😉
I hope you had fun redecorating!!
This is so pretty! I love the silver and grey.
Good luck on your finals! I have three M/T as well, and then a final project due Friday. Eep.
Mellan is so cute – please scratch behind his ears for me. 😀
Thanks, Catherine!
I hope yours went well!
this look is so freaking gorgeous! is Sandy B DC? i’ve been looking for a nude l/s and this looks like the onee 🙂
also, which of the new C-thru’s coming out in the rose romance collection are most like the nude one you used? thanks!
Thanks, Joyce! Hmm, I thought it was perm!
Ohh, C-Thru is the name of the lipglass! 🙂
Hi! I am so grateful that temptalia.com is here for me all the time! For years as a silent fan, every night it is a comfort to log on to this site! 😉
Currently I am experiencing a bout of bad skin, and I am only using loose powder every day. I have an event to atend on Monday and I have just burnt a hole on my cheek in frustration…
Are you using the Eve Pearl foundation here? Because you look ravishing! I have never tried any of MAC’s liquid foundation because their studiofix powder has always caused me to breakout very badly.
I wonder is the MAC liquid foundation any good and has it ever caused you to break out even once?…. I am in search of a good liquid foundation… I tried Chanel’s Lift Lumiere, and I didn’t like it at all… No “lifted” look, and made me breakout one time…. So I only use it on occasion…
Thank you for taking the time to help!
Aw, thanks, Amanda! 🙂
I think I was using Dior here, but Eve Pearl’s has gotten me compliments, too 🙂
I have used MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid for years — like 3-4 years — and I don’t think it causes me to break out!
You might want to check out Dior’s Nude foundation (liquid), it’s quite nice!
Great look!! It makes your natural eye colour all the more vibrant.
And you seem to have lost weight, too!
Thanks so much, Morna! Ha, I wish, LOL 😉
Beautiful look, Christine!
I have finals on Monday too 🙁 It’s okay, one last quarter at CSUEB before i’m free! 🙂 How about you?
Have fun studying and good luck on your final! <3
Thanks a ton, Vanessa!
Ohh, congrats on being almost done! Two more years for me 🙂
Hope your finals went well!
lovely look! and your dog is adorable <3
Thanks x2, Sanny!
This is a lovely look, esp the eyes. I’m sporting blue and silver smokey eyes today with blue liner (bottom lash line only), a bit similar to yours, but half as gorgeous. 😉 Good luck with your exams. I am so happy I don’t have to study any more!
Thank you so much, Anitacska! I will be so happy when I can say I don’t have to study any more!
You look so good with grey/silver eyeshadows!!
Amazing…
I also love the peachy lips.
And Mellan..he is such a cutie! How is he doing, health-wise?
Thanks, Eva! 🙂
We just found out he has luxating patellas (his knees slip in and out of joint), but otherwise he’s as happy as he has always been!
Gorgeous colors and look great on you! We rarely see you with cooler colors (which are my fave):D
Lately I have been sporting grey/silvers as well. Today wearing the mineralize duo e/s in silver!
Good luck on exams!
Thanks 🙂 Most people don’t like me in cooler colors, LOL!
Very Pretty, my kind of smokey eye!
Mellan: so adorable!
Thank you so much 😀
Gorgeous, totally lovin your Crest white teeth lol!
Haha!
Thanks, Rachael!
Christine you look hot as always! I do this look all the time but over Blackground Paintpot and its kind of too much I think your way is much softer and easier to wear for most places. I’m going to steal this from you. You look amazing, and your skin looks so phenomenal.
Thanks so much! 🙂 I like the smoky eye over Blacktrack, but it can definitely be too intense!
Awwww…Mellan is so adorable! He seems like a very happy pup! This is a great look on you. Good luck on your finals! 🙂
Thanks, Katie! 🙂 He’s definitely optimistic!
You’re looking great!! Love how this looks on you 🙂
Thank you, Bec!!
LOVE this look!
Thanks, Sasha! Glad you liked it!
smokin’ hot!:)
Thanks, Ice 😀
wow gorgeous ! (:
Aw, thanks, Jessica!
Gorgeous smokey eye look Christine! I’ve been wanting Electra, Silver Ring and Shroom eyeshadows for the longest time! I think I’ll get them soon.
They’re all good shadows to have! Thanks, Jacquelyn!
Beautiful!!!!
Yay! Thanks Lisa!
That’s absolutely beautiful! I keep seeing how your skills have improved! It’s fantastic 😀
Aw! Thanks so much, Jenna!
You inspired me to try the gray side of my Smokey Eyes Palette, after owning it for 3 months. I was afraid the gray wouldn’t look good with my brown eyes, but it’s great! Thanks for inspiring me every time I check your site (every day, it’s an addiction).
Yay!! I’m so glad you liked your smoky look, Ada 😀
Hi Christine,
Great look 🙂 My 2 cents worth..as substitutes , one could at a pinch use Physicians formula “Baked Smokes” a la http://www.physiciansformula.com/ProductDetail/eye/shadows/03695.html the shades look very similar to what you have on when worn.
Thanks for the substitutes, Dee!! 🙂 Helpful for those on a budget!
Gorgeous look, those lips are the perfect compliment to such beautiful, smokey eyes! Mellan takes the cake though…he’s so precious
Thanks so much, Stef!
This is my favorite look! I love everything about it! You are soo gorgeous!
Thanks, Renee!
Such a lovely look. Thanks for the inspiration Christine. I’m going to try this look, but maybe try Syrup L/S instead.
Thanks, Ember! Definitely give it a shot!
Oh my gosh..
have never seen you with short hair..
that looks sooooo nice on you.
better than the long.
but that’s just what I think 🙂
Sorry you don’t like me with long hair!
I miss your hair like this. Lovely
Aww 🙁
