Look: Pop of Color for Spring
Look: Pop of Color for Spring
This was a recent look I used to test out the wear of several products–the newer MAC eyeshadow quad (because it had a very stubborn shade in it), MAC’s Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner (because it was worth re-testing), and Becca Damselfly (had not tested the wear before). I haven’t worn either the lipstick or gloss on its own, so I haven’t finished testing either of those, but I thought they might work well with this look so at least I could get a lip swatch out of it!
You will need the following…
- Eyes: NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base (eyeshadow primer), MAC Colour Eyeshadow Quad (yellow, dark blue, gray, beige), MAC Undercurrent Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner (teal), Hourglass Film Noir Mascara (black)
- Face: Chanel Vitalumiere (B30), Guerlain Les Voilettes Mineral Powder (03), Becca Damselfly Mineral Blush (orange-coral)
- Lips: Make Up For Ever Folk Rouge Artist Natural (coral), Le Metier de Beaute Orange Juiced Sheer Brilliance Lipgloss (sheer tangerine)
For eyes, I applied a light layer of NARS Smudgeproof on the lid as an eyeshadow primer from lash line to brow bone with a firm, flat brush. First, I applied Self-Serve to the crease with a pencil brush and used a blending brush to attempt to diffuse the color. Next, I applied Colour Added all over the lid with a fluffy eyeshadow brush. I used another pencil brush to apply Pre-packaged to the outer corner and into the deep crease. To highlight the brow bone, I used Laudry Daze applied and blended with a fluffy blending brush. On the lower lash line, I applied MAC Undercurrent and then patted Colour Added on the inner half of the lash line and Pre-packaged on the outer half of the lash line. Finally, I applied a coat of Hourglass Film Noir to lengthen and thicken lashes.
For face, I applied Chanel Vitalumiere with a circular foundation brush. I blended Becca Damselfly onto cheeks with a dense blush brush and set with Guerlain Les Voilettes. For lips, I applied Make Up For Ever Folk and layered Le Metier de Beaute Orange Juiced on top.
Love it 🙂 ♥
Thanks, Sarah!
i LOVE this look! the colors are too pretty
Thanks, Vonnie!
I’m a fan of your brows! I have two totally different brows, and no amount of fixing helps; it just makes matters worse. LOL.
Anyway, love this look. Your blue, green, and/or yellow looks are always my favorite! They just look so good on you!
Aww! There are differences between the two of mine that I can never seem to correct either!
Thank you, Miss J!
This looks lovely! You always carry yellows so effortlessly!
Thanks so much!
Lovely look, I really like the pop of bright yellow and the gorgeous greens and blues!
Thank you!
Very pretty Christine!
Thanks, Megan!
Gorgeous look, Christine! These colors look amazing on you!
Thank you!! 🙂
I really really love this look. It’s different without being TOO out there 🙂
Yay! Thanks, Cat!
what is on your waterline? Undercurrent?
Yes – it’s written in the post! 🙂
So lovely! The blue and yellow eye looks fantastic with the coral lip. I have a couple of yellow shadows I’ve never worn, I think I’ll try a look similar to this, thank you for the inspiration Christine!
Thank you so much!
Gorgeous and totally eye-catching! Love the colours 🙂
Thanks, Erika!
You referred to using a pencil brush for this look and I don’t think I know what that is. Can you explain?
MAC’s 219!
You wear colors so insanely well Christine, and in a very approachable way too. I’ve ALWAYS admired that about your looks!
Thank you, Sunny! That’s kind of who I am – I like wearing bright colors, but I want to do it in a more wearable way? I guess!
I need to do the same at home, I really love it. And it fits you so weel Christine ^^ Neutrals are pretty, but you wear really well stronger colors
Thank you, Aurore!
Gorgeous look!! I will be purchasing Added Colour Quad today to try out that look!
Thanks, Jacquelyn!
I was just looking at the January 2011’s peacocky look you had done and I really like how your look has changed – a bit lighter brows, a bit more maturity to your face (not to be taken in a bad way – I mean it as a compliment!)
Gorgeous!!
Love this look – I agree, the bright colors always look so nice on you, I like them better than the neutrals. 🙂
Thank you, Yasemin!
Is there a Chanel Vitalumiere review on the way..? 🙂
Couldn’t say! 🙂
Do you know if the Le Metier de Beaute gloss in Orange Juiced is available yet?
It should be! It was released during winter!
I actually really like that look. I think I did something similar once. 🙂
This looks amazing!! Great blending and color selection!!
I love it.. I do makeup like this all the time but for some reason yellow and orange i can’t think of how to wear it. and like a eye shadow palette i can come up with colors but blue. How do you decided what colors without it looking like the 80s or just stupid. lol
Really nice!! And Très cool!
Looks great, I love how you have applied the colour. Really brings out the colour in your eyes. I’m not sure I would be game to wear that colour scheme.
