Look: Maybelline Green with Envy Quickie

From several readers’ comments, it sounded like there was trouble using this quad, but I didn’t seem to share a lot of the concerns readers had. When I originally tested it, I just did one eye (the other eye was something else…), so I figured I’d at least do both eyes so it would be visually acceptable.  So, I threw on this SUPER, SUPER quick look after I got home from school (which is why the mascara is dusty–I was wearing mascara already–only removed my eyeshadow from earlier in the day but kept the mascara on).

The colors definitely showed up on me, and I just threw on UDPP as a base since it was the closest thing to me when I put this on.  Just used MAC 239 to apply and do any blending, along with the 226 for the crease.    I was a bit hurried (I have a ton of cases to read!) when I did all this (think about three or four minutes), so I don’t think I spread the UDPP evenly on my lid, but otherwise I really didn’t encounter difficulty using these.  I took my brush, tapped it into the eyeshadow, then I patted it onto my lid; rinse and repeat!  The champagne shade was the only shade that felt a little on the powdery side for me.  Not better than a lot of my high-end eyeshadows, but some of the better drugstore eyeshadows I’ve tried in the past five years.

I don’t know if it helps, but I thought I’d share my method and how everything turned out for me with some photographic evidence, LOL! 🙂

P.S. – Cheeks are Benefit Sugarbomb; lips are Chanel Santal Rouge Allure Laque.

Oh, beautiful! I’ve had an urge to try a green-y look lately, I might try this! Thanks, Christine.
Marvelously executed, as usual! (um, I love your beauty marks by the way… hope that’s not wierd, aha…)

Thanks, Melissa! 🙂

You know, I struggled for about 18 years about my beauty marks… almost to the point of having the largest one (by my nose) removed. It took me 18 years, but I finally accepted and learned to love them 🙂 So… THANK YOU! (Because it is from the encouraging comments of those who *do* like them that helped make me see them as something other than ugly.)

Yay for acceptance of individual beauty!! I used to struggle over my ears…I thought I was Dumbo in human form…and then as I got older I was like “ya know what? i like my ears! they are fine!” and it has been a burden lifted. Way to be a positive role model:)

Wow, I never even realized you had beauty marks until she mentioned it…and I’ve followed this site since ’07! They’re gorgeous on you-I grew up during the Cindy Crawford era and ALWAYS wanted a beauty mark. I went threw a phase where I drew some on with liquid eyeliner LOL!

me too – I never noticed the beauty marks until people mentioned them in the comments here! Just goes to show we magnify our own ‘flaws’ when others can’t even see them!

thank you for doing a look with this quad. as one of the complainers, i appreciate you addressing a product that so many people had talking about having issues with.

i’ll definitely give it another try but only if i have time to waste if it doesn’t work out. or perhaps just test on my arm with different bases.

thanks again!

I’m really sad you didn’t have any good or decent results with it, but I was totally surprised, you know? I was confused and, I’ll admit it, stumped!

The only thing I could think of is that I don’t do that much blending in my technique (overall, not just with these).

Really pretty! It’s great that you’ve been able to post lots of make-up looks recently. I love seeing make-up looks, as it always gives me inspiration :o) .

Thank you, I was sitting this morning trying to figure out what I should do on my face. Green is my favorite color and I bought this Quad based on your recommendations. So yes I compiled a look using this quad, thanks cause it turned out beautiful.

I love it on you! It looks beautiful. I’m just wondering…. You think these colours might work with light blue eyes and blonde hair? I’d love to try it!
