Look – Easy Pink & Black Smoky Eye

Here’s one last Chill look before we all forget about Chill and move onto Dame Edna next week! 😉 I thought I’d do something really simple — it’s basically three eyeshadows and that’s it, which is a huge deal for me, as I’m sure many of you know. 😛 I wanted to try out some new YSL lip products I got, but unfortunately the combo was just a lil’ too bright for this look, so it was Naked Frost to the rescue to help tone it down (which worked beautifully!).

Happy holidays to those who have had or will have them to celebrate this season! 🙂 I hope everyone has gotten a chance to spend some quality time with their loved ones and friends. My boyfriend, Mellan, and I head up to see my parents and sister in an hour or two (basically… as soon as start and finish getting ready, LOL) for the day. We’ll be back there for Christmas, as well.

Today is Magellan’s 1st birthday — he is exactly one year old today. He doesn’t seem like he’s an “adult”, but most lab owners say lab puppyhood lasts at least two years, sometimes all their lives 😉 My mom has lots of treats and goodies baked for him, I’m sure, plus he has several gifts under the tree with his paw on it, so I think he’ll have a good birthday and make out like a bandit! My mom completely adores and utterly *spoils* him everytime he visits! I thought I’d share a little timeline of Magellan over the past year along with the look — I can’t be the only one who loves cute puppies, LOL!

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Your Ladyship pigment (neutral base), Wintersky eyeshadow (medium, subdued pink), Mont Black eyeshadow (black), Shroom eyeshadow (highlighter), Graphblack technakohl (black), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Dior Rose Diamond Skin Shimmer (soft pink)
  • Lips: YSL Romantic Pink Lipstick (medium pink), YSL #4 Gloss Pur (bright pink), Naked Frost lipglass (taupe)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
  • Substitutes: Your Ladyship = Vanilla; Wintersky = Pink Venus; Naked Frost = Chai

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Your Ladyship pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. Apply Wintersky eyeshadow all over the lid with the 239 brush. Darken the outer crease with Mont Black eyeshadow with the 239, gently tugging and blending so it also darkens the outermost portion of the lid to a gray-black. Finish with Graphblack technakohl on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Rose Diamond shimmer using the 129. Apply YSL Romantic Pink lipstick to lips, and then top with YSL #4 Gloss Pur for color and shine, then tone it down with Naked Frost lipglass.

Thanks, Kelly!! 🙂

LOL, yes, I think that is one of my favorite pictures of all time, too. Never seen him more exhausted! He snored like a MACK TRUCK.

This has got to be one of my favorite looks on you! So so pretty and Magellan is such a cutie. It’s amazing how fast they grow up over just one year 🙂

Thanks, Leah! 🙂 It’s so simple, haha! I just can never do simple. I get way too into swiping all the shadows.

It is! I’m so glad I took so many photos when he was a wee thing.

Well, hello hotty!
I’m yearning for the day when I can achieve that look for my lips!
You look very cute, Chris!

Look @ your dog! OMG, they grow so fast *tears*.

Very pretty. And aww, look at sweet little Mellan! They get big so quickly, don’t they? I don’t have any puppies right now, but I have 8 cats and I was so sad when they got big. My oldest is 15 years.

Thank you! Yes, they grow SO fast, especially when they have so much to grow into, like Mellan. Wow, eight cats! My family dog is almost 17. Hope your bunch is doing well 🙂

Happy birthday, Mellan!!!!
That is such a cute collage. :o)
I also love the look, especially the lipcolour!! I really, really like your hair this short. :o)

Love this look.
I am really digging the Chill collection 😉

Did you cut your hair?

Awww cutie pictures of Mellan..hope he has a great birthday & you have a super christmas!

Thanks, Katrina! Yes, his “real” name is Magellan. It just ended up getting shortened to Mellan. He responds to both, but I usually call him Mellan 🙂

Christine, great look, love the pinks on you.

BUT sorry, Mellan stole the show LOL! =D He is the star, SO CUTE! The pics are so pretty, I really want to hug him. Happy Birthday handsome!

Lovely Xmas and Happy New Year! Wish you and yours all the best.

Oooh Happy Holidays and Birthday to you Magellan! What I love the most is that your eyes grow up with you, if you get what I mean!

I just came back from a trip and seems like I missed A LOT. Love the look Christine, so pretty and sweet and apt for Christmas! Seems like the Chill collection is gonna be a hit, for me at least!

You’re raising a happy, handsome dog. He looks BEAUTIFUL in that last pic. Cute little dot on his ear 🙂 Good job.. It’s so nice to see that some people DO take good care of their dogs.

Thank you, Kella!! 🙂 Yep, it’s a birthmark (I suppose)–it was the ONLY way we could follow any of the puppies when we picked one out. Plus, he was the least yappy, LOL.

Christine,

Do you smudge or use a Q-tip to blend your lower lashline? I liked the Feline pencil you used in a previous post and could never get my Graphblack Technakohl to look like this. I need to know your secret! I am a pro at doing cat-eye line on top but sometimes suck at the bottom.

I use the 219 brush for any application to the lower lash line for the most part 🙂 In this look, I think that’s just naturally smudgy, LOL.

Hi Christine, LOVE these delicate, muted colors! Also, thanks for sharing the puppy pics. My favorite is the one at 14 wks. where he’s all splayed out!
