Look - Dior Twilight Quint for Sultry Blue Smoky Eyes
GRR!! I really, really LOVED this look and how it turned out, and of course – I didn’t do close-ups in front of a mirror, so they didn’t turn out as well as they normally did. I included more full-face shots as a compromise, since I just uploaded them this morning (aka, the makeup was removed!). The boy and I went to a fancy schmancy steakhouse to celebrate our anniversary a few days early (super yum!), so I got all dolled up for it 🙂
You will need the following…
- Eyes: MAC Azreal Blue pigment (light blue), Dior Twilight Eyeshadow Quint, MAC Fly-by-blu pearlglide liner (navy), Plushlash mascara (black)
- Cheeks: Gentle mineralize blush (soft raspberry-pink)
- Lips: YSL Lingerie Pink rouge volupte lipstick (cool, pastel pink), Cult Fave lipglass (pink)
- Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Azreal Blue = Delft; Fly-by-blu = Prussian; Gentle = Plum Foolery; Lingerie Pink = Snob; Cult Fave = Cultured (for this look only)
Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Azreal Blue pigment all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner-to-middle lid, apply the light blue shade from the Dior quint using the 239 brush. Apply the light silver color of the Dior quint to the middle of your lid using the 239 brush. Darken the outer lid using the dark blue shade from the Dior quint and drag into crease using the 239. Sweep the light blue shade underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Fly-by-blu pearlglide liner on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Gentle blush using the 129. Apply YSL Lingerie Pink lipstick to lips, and then top with Cult Fave lipglass for color and shine.

soooo pretty!!:) Im hesitant about blue eye shadow because im naturally tan but its really looks good here! good job 🙂
Thanks, Jenn! 🙂 I’m naturally tan, too!
BEAUTIFUL 😀
Thanks, Tessellate!
Wow, you’re one of the few people I’ve seen that can pull off really really extreme blue eyeshadow looks without making it look too over-the-top! This is gorgeous!!
I noticed that the eyeshadow colour goes a little higher than usual…or at least that there isn’t as much highlighter shade space as there usually is. But it totally works! Plus, I love the whole “ombre” effect with the light-to-dark blue shades.
Another winner for Christine 🙂 Congrats to you and your boyfriend!
Aw, thanks, Miss Fred! I think it might just be confidence and perhaps even that you’ve probably seen me in so many bright colors, LOL!
I don’t really have a heighth I keep to, but sometimes the shadow goes higher or lower.
Thank you!
What I love best about these is that you look SO happy!! Congratulations on your anniversary!
Aww, thank you K!
Beautiful!! and Congratulations! How was the steak?
Thanks, Jesse!
Delicious 😉
Are there any MAC dupes for the eyeshadow you used? I’m guessing probably Deep Truth for the dark blue color. Congrats on your anniversary.
A reader mentioned how similar Lark About was to the lightest blue shade – it is close, but this particular eyeshadow is still bluer. Deep Truth for the dark blue color for sure, though. You could use Electra for the silver, I think!
Don’t you love Fly by Blu? The Dior quint looks awesome, I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
It’s very nice! 🙂
The quint is great – it’s like you can do your blue smoky eye OR your silver OR your black smoky eye. In one quint!
wow…you look absolutely drop dead gorgeous! this is my favorite look you’ve ever done!
Thank you so much, Steph!
are you wearing studio fix fluid again?? This looks great.. love the top
You better believe it 🙂 Thanks!
Amazing!!! I’m in love with this look and will be attempting a re-create, for sure 🙂 Congrats on the anniversary!!
Thanks so much!! 🙂 I hope you enjoy the quint – I love it.

LOL! Thank you so much, Viv 😀
Very Pretty. I am obsessed with blues. I bought the blue pearlglide yesterday and I cant wait to use it! I just might get the Dior Shadows. They are too pretty.
Happy anniversary to you and your honey
Thanks, Dawn! I really love this quint – you can do so many smoky eyes with it.
not only do you look so pretty but you look so happy too!
Aw, thanks a lot, Millie! 🙂

Thank you, Brittany!
Oohhh pretty! Happy anniversary to you and the tech guy!!
Thank you, Stacey!!
WOOOOO Pretties! This quint looks fab on you, great choice. And the shirt! Hope you had a great night out with your boy 🙂
Thanks, Jan! 🙂 It was a great night for sure!
Flawless as ever. Thank you.
Aw, thank YOU!
The eyes are so perfect! Its really well done and it’s lovely with that blue top of yours. This quint is a good shade of blue that isn’t too bright and tropical, and it gives this nice royalty feel! great 🙂
Thank you so much, Angie 🙂 Definitely a sultry dark blue, not at all tropical!
THAT LOOK IS ROCKING GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this Christineeee!!!! Just beautiful….. Very pretty!
Thank you so much, Aitana! 🙂
You look so pretty!
I love the eye makeup. And I have the eyeliner!!! An excuse for me to buy the rest of the shadows right?
What do you mean by coordinating powder shadow ?
By the way, your lip color combination looks alot like the one the Sales Associate told me regarding mixing the 2 lipsticks from the Emanuel Ungaro collection.
Thanks so much!
Well, my brows are brown-black, so I use a dark brown eyeshadow to fill them in 🙂
way too frosty on you…
Is there a look you think would suit me? I don’t think you’ve ever liked a look I’ve done, so I’d like to know what you think would work instead!
that’s lovely, thanks for giving me my look for tonight 🙂 I don’t have any of the colors you used so I made use of moon’s reflection, deep truth, freshwater, a touch of silver ring and even actually a small tocuh of carbon.
No problem, Bettina! 🙂 I love the shades you used!
