Look - Bright Future Sunset
I did this look yesterday 🙂 Just trying to use Bright Future from Style Warrior & make it work for me! It’s better than the last round, but in truth, it doesn’t top Going Bananas or Bright Sunshine — I’d prefer both of those over Bright Future. I find Chrome Yellow to be hard to wear, because it is so yellow, and I think the same issue is here with Bright Future.
What’s everyone doing for the long weekend?
You will need the following…
- Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral beige base), Quick Frost pigment (whitish-gold), Bright Future eyeshdaow (bright yellow), Rule eyeshadow (matte orange), Coppering eyeshadow (orange-red), Firespot eyeshadow (orange), Texture eyeshadow (brownish-red), Soft Force eyeshadow (highlighter) Urban Decay Lucky 24/7 Liner (copper), Plushlash mascara (black)
- Cheeks: Eversun beauty powder blush (coral-pink), Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer (bronzy highlighter)
- Lips: Brave New Bronze lipstick (pinky nude), Tartlette lipglass (coral)
- Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush), 219 (pointed crease brush), 214 (smudge brush), 249 (flat, firm brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush)
- Substitutes: Quick Frost = Frost; Bright Future = Bright Sunshine/Chrome Yellow; Firespot = Goldmine+Coppering; Soft Force = Nylon; Eversun = Springsheen; Brave New Bronze = Honeylove; Tartlette = Lychee Luxe
Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. With the 239, apply Quick Frost pigment with water-based mixing medium on the lower lid. On the inner lid, pack Bright Future eyeshadow on using the 239. Apply Firespot eyeshadow to the middle and outer portions of the lid. Overlay outer lid with Coppering eyeshadow. Darken crease with Rule eyeshadow using the 226, then deepen with Texture eyeshadow with the 219. Sweep Soft Force eyeshadow underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Urban Decay Lucky Liner on lower lash line. Apply Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Eversun blush using the 129, then highlight with Dior Amber Diamond Skin Shimmer with the 188. Apply Brave New Bronze lipstick to lips, and then top with Tartlette lipglass for color and shine.

Woo! A hit 🙂
Thanks, Barbara!
Stunning, I love sunset looks.. this being no exception. I think Bright Future works really well on you.
Yay! Thanks, Nepenthe 🙂 I love the ol’ sunset theme, too.
beautiful combo.
Glad you liked it, Reesa!
You make it work Christine, this is lovely!
Haha! Thanks so much, Rachael 🙂
One of my favourite looks in a while 🙂 You look beautiful Christine x
Aw, thank you, Chica!
I love it, very summery! Great work!
Thanks a lot, Kat 🙂

Thanks, Charlene!
wow this looks soo pretty!
loving eversun too…i was only planning on getting on a mission D:
Uh oh!
Thanks, Evelyn 🙂
OMG! This is one of the prettiest looks ever! The colors and the blending are perfect! Soooo beautiful!
Wow!
Thanks so much, Tammy!
great look! love the combination of colours.. by the way, these pictures look different from normal, but i can’t quite put my finger on it?
I agree, I was thinking the same, the full face pictures look a bit “odd”, but can’t quite explain why. Different angle than usual maybe? Different lighting? Nice look by the way. 🙂
I think it’s because she got her brows done – And the shape of your brows determines the way your WHOLE face looks. Also, the new shape of her brows I think are accentuating the area under your cheek bone, and there’s nothing to contour there so it looks a bit full there. 🙂
The shape is the same, actually :/
I used the wrong settings on my camera, sorry 🙁 I couldn’t re-take them, because I had already removed my makeup!
Thanks, Art!
The bottom ones were taken on the wrong setting, but I didn’t realize until after I took off the makeup!
Very summery! Since I have both Bright Sunshine and Going Bannanas, I won’t be getting Bright Future. How many yellow eyeshadows does a girl need anyway? I’ll be using the money to get Brave New Bronze instead. 😀
I prefer Going Bananas anyway!
I hope you like Brave New Bronze 🙂
Very pretty Christine, these colors look very flattering on you 🙂
Yay! Thanks a lot, Miss M!
looks pretty !!
Thanks, Claudia! 😀
I started to buy UD Lucky a couple of times, but wasn’t really sure. Now I must have it. Beautiful look. It makes your eyes look greener than usual or something. What color do you call your eyes, anyway?
You gotta get it! It’s great 🙂
I call ’em hazel!
Gorgeous! Now I need an organge shadow in my life.
Thanks, Resa! You definitely need at least one in your life 🙂
I love it! I love sunset looks, anyway, but this one is expecially beautiful. I’m so excited because I just picked up Bright Future, Brave New Bronze and Gold Rebel!
Question: is Firespot LE? If so, what’s a good dupe?
Firespot is LE and came out with the Moonbathe collection. It’s such a unique and wonderful colour that I have not found a dupe (I have one back-up though so hopefully I won’t have to). I am sure there are similar things though, so hopefully someone here will see this and be able to help! 😀 Sorry I am of no help, I just wanted to say how much I adore Firespot too. 🙂
Thanks so much, Mara! 🙂
Firespot was LE, and there’s no great dupe by MAC. You can mix Goldmine and Coppering to get kind of close.
Gorgeous!! The whole look.
Thanks a lot, Susanne! 🙂
Your look was such a pleasant surprise!! To be completely honest, I haven’t seen a Bright Future look that I’ve liked yet.. until yours! Everyone else’s has been alright, but their Bright Future + Vibrant Grape = Icky brown. But your look is so lovely, and makes me crave Firespot even more! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Aww, thanks so much, Erin! I am flattered you like this one, then!
how sparkly do you find those dior skin shimmers to be?
They’re a soft shimmer/sheen, not really sparkly!
LOVE this! So reminiscent of the Moonbathe collection (one of my favourite MAC collections ever). Bright Future looks awesome when used this way and with these colours. 😀 I am definitely going to try this look when my SW haul arrives.
Thanks, Skyler! Oh yeah, I LOVED Moonbathe. That one needs a re-do!
I think this came out real nice. I do like Bright Future on you, but I must say I’m still contemplating on whether to get it myself or not. I do not own any of the other yellow MAC shadows, but noone has really raved about Bright Future either so don’t know if this should be my choice or not. For now, when I want to get a real yellow on my eye, I go for packing on some Golden Lemon pigment & that works for me.
Firespot is to die for!
Thanks, Nic! It’s OK, but I prefer Bright Sunshine or Going Bananas, and Bright Sunshine is perm.
I want your eyebrows. Not sure if they’d look fine on me but they’re heavenly plain and well shaped.
LOL!
Thank you!
wonderful look..and the last pic is SHOOOOOO ADORABLE!! 🙂
love your smile in that one! 🙂
Aww! Thank you so much, girl!
Did you just get your brows done? They look perfect! Just a tip: the new shape of your brows accentuates the area under your cheeks a bit, so unless you’re wearing your hair over that part, you might want to contour your cheeks more often. 🙂 Just a tip! Man, I really should get more orange/yellow shadows!
Nope, haven’t had them done in a long time!
All in all this look is pretty on you! I agree your blending skills are amazing. However this yellow shadow in the hands of an amatuer could spell disaster.
I’m glad ya liked it, Jen!
Thanks so much 🙂
nice! your top matches too!
Thanks, Mahreez 🙂
I am in love with your eyebrows!
and i like the colors you use 😀
Yay! Thanks, Adelina 😉
Oh firespot, why must you haunt me.
🙁
gawjusss!
Thanks, Mich!
love it!
is soft force close a dupe for solar white?
Thanks, Dani! 🙂 It’s similar, but I think it’s yellower.
Love your look !
Thank you, Taj 😀
Christine u look so stunning and the combo is amazing, I can’t wait to try it out!!
Aww, thank you so much, Chocobon!!
Great look Christine! and i love your brows…i’m so jealous! yours are so perfect…so not fair:((

I love the look, Christine. I’m wondering if I’m skilled enough to pull it off on myself. Can’t wait to start buying stuff from this collection!

Thanks, Zainy!
Hi Christine! i am amazed of how many looks you come up with and they are all good. So, i would like to ask you: which look is your very favourite :)?
Thanks so much, Abby!
I don’t have a favorite, to be honest. There’s just no way I could pick just one!
Oh, my!! You’re so freaking cute!!! I love you hair in a ponytail, I belive I mentioned that a number of times!!! I love the lips and cheeks!!!
lol! Thank you so much, Sash 😀
You are insanely gorgeous.
Thanks a lot, Sylvia!
How do you get the colors to “pop” is it because of the ochre base that you use?
yes!
