Look - BBR Smoky Eye with Pincurl and Deep Shade

SO, this was going to be posted tomorrow, but since I mixed up the pictures, I might as well just post it now! 😛

You will need the following…

  • Eyes: Soft Ochre paint pot (neutral base), Pincurl eyeshadow (white-pink-silver), Knight eyeshadow (dark gray), Deep Shade eyeshadow (dark blue-purple), Femme-fi eyeshadow (highlighter), Feline kohl power (black), Plushlash mascara (black)
  • Cheeks: Blonde mineralize skinfinish (rose highlighter)
  • Lips: Marquise d’ (beige pink), Live & Dye lipglass (pastel pink)
  • Brushes: 266 (firm, angled brush), 214 (flat, stubby brush), 239 (fluffy shadow brush), 129 (dense blush brush), 226 (fluffy crease brush)
  • Substitutes: Pincurl = Vex; Knight = Silver Ring; Deep Shade = Contrast; Femme-fi = Shroom; Feline = Graphblack; Blonde = Dior Rose Diamond; Marquise d’ = Hue; Live & Dye = Love Nectar

Directions: Define brows using a coordinating powder shadow applied with the 266 brush. Apply Soft Ochre paint pot all over the lid as the base with the 249. On the inner lid, apply Pincurl eyeshadow using the 239. Apply Knight eyeshadow to the middle/outer portion of the lid. Darken crease with Deep Shade eyeshadow using the 239. Sweep Femme-fi underneath the brow bone to highlight. Finish with Feline kohl power on lower lash line, and Plushlash mascara on lashes. Sweep apples of cheeks with Blonde MSF using the 129. Apply Marquise d’ lipstick to lips, and then top with Live and Dye lipglass for color and shine.

This look was really nice, but it doesn’t look like you used the shadows you written down xD looks more like pincurl and deep shade/top knot (not sure of the names :P) but nice either way^^

Hi! I was just gonna write the same thing, because I saw the tutorial. I thought maybe the pics were from another look? Anyway, flawless as always.

How are you liking the new brushes?

mellan is da bestest! i have to tell you, my parents have NOT been having a good time with their lab puppy (8 month old yellow lab) — she eats EVERYTHING (including the floor mats to my dad’s brand new mercedes), thinks that cars are toys to chase, and constantly tries to jump on your head (even though she’s already about 70 lbs — yikes!)

onto the topic of the look — LOVE IT! i ordered my BBR haul today, got redhead MSF, peroxide l/g, blow dry l/s, and frech cuff e/s. i passed on top knot (thought you know i love my purples) cause it looks easily duped (thinking that fertile might be the dupe).

Christine Avatar

Haha!

Oh no!! Some labs are like that, REALLY big on chewing anything and everything. We just kept making sure he had good things he could chew on, especially rawhides and those types of things.

Nice haul! Fertile is probably a better color than Top Knot 😉

How in the world did you get that blue-purple using those shadow colors? The ones you mentioned are in the gold-burgundy family but this is definitely cool toned beauty. Looks more like Top-Knot and Deep Shade…

It’s still gorgeous though.

I was wondering if someone else was thinking the same thing! Are you sure these are the right pics, Christine??

But I really like this look 🙂

The look is gorgeous! You are absolutely glowing here, can you tell me exactly what you used for you face? Foundation, primer, etc. 🙂

This is a fantastic look! You look so pretty. I wouldn’t even think to put All’s Fair and Live & Dye together – thankfully these are 2 items from my haul yesterday!

OMG I wore the EXACT same look today. EXACTLY the same colors and placement and everything (well, I used Greenstroke paint pot)! I just used Penultimate liner on top lashline and used Blow Dry lipstick instead. But yeah, we would have been eyeshadow twins!! Looks nice!!!

This will look absolutely adorable with a white polo, bluejeans and highheels or ballerinas.

Could you do this look again, using the mentioned permanent colors? I would like to see a compairison between the permanent and LE colors.

Haydee Avatar

You ace this look!I really like you with nude shade color lips but thats just me 🙂 I really need that shade of blue E/S! Have a wonderful weekend.

Hey Christine! I’m just now going through your posts and re-read this one, LOL. When I first saw it this afternoon, I was like, Sunset eye? But I was so tired from studying for an exam, I chalked it up to that. Now I get it, LOL. Nice look!! I didn’t buy any of these colors b/c I have all the dupes. I did get some of the colors for the Sunset eye though.

Since this grey look has a slant towards the slightest purple, I’m gonna say PURPLEEEEE! Love this look ( and the sunset one!), I’m so excited for this collection! Its not here yet, only Chill and Dame Edna is released for now and I’m disappointed with those. I like your top, matches the eyeshadows!

Jan Avatar

Hmmm… everything?
I wish! As usual I’ll arm myself with your review and go down to the store to look and try for myself. My MAC MA once told me I look like I’m doing grocery shopping with a list and items with little notes written down!

Valerie Avatar

I’m just going to flat out say it I LOVE THIS LOOK! You’ve convinced me to get those colours!
I’m going after dinner! haha Thanks for the inspiration!

oooh….this is such a gorgeous look!!!
and i alwaaaays luuurv the face pic in which u r looking down…it gives me the best idea as to what the eye looks like! 🙂

I passed on Pincurl but after seeing this look I think I want it! How close is it to Vex? It seems more grey whereas Vex seems more green.

Sash Avatar

I always love this colour combination, or one close to this, on you! It suits you very much!
And, I love your hair like that! NO MORE BANDOS! LOL

I don’t think Hue is a good substitute for MD :(. I have both, I hate Hue and LOOVE MD. Hue is too milky, looks gross and too pale on me. They are in the same category of mlbb/subtle.
