Lit Cosmetics Glitter Daze Holographic Glitter Collection Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Lit Cosmetics Glitter Daze Holographic Glitter Collection ($52.00 for 5 x 0.14 oz.) includes five holographic glitter shades, plus a 4ml bottle of Clearly Liquid Glitter Base and a small brush. This is less of a review and more of a, “ooh, look at the pretty glitters,” because the nice thing is there’s very little variance in quality from the glitters, as they’re all loose glitters, and they rely on the Clearly Liquid Glitter Base (which I’ve reviewed here and here!)–and that’s the same product, just being used with new-to-me shades.  It’s a very thin, water-like (in terms of consistency) adhesive base that keeps the glitter in place all day long but washes away with water when you’re ready to remove it.

Bar Star is a medium-dark, almost violet-tinged blue with holographic glitter. It is S3 in size, so it is bit larger than the others for particle size.

Glittergasm is a cool-toned, blue-based red and magenta glitter mix with holographic glitter–looks almost fiery when it catches the light. It is S2 in size.

Heartbreaker is an orange-red and purple mix of glitter that shifts to coppery-orange, fuchsia, and orange. It is S2 in size.

Superfly is a dark gray glitter with multi-colored holographic glitter. It reflects a rainbow of color as the light bounces off the glitter particles. It is S2 in size. MAC Grey (LE, $21.00) is gray but not holographic. See comparison swatches.

Rhinestone Cowboy is a mix of a whole assortment of glitter–it seems like a deep, golden brown base of glitter, and then an array of multi-color glitter that looks like a rainbow as the light catches it. It is S2 in size.

These shades are exclusive to Beautylish at the moment, and they can be purchased as a set for $52 or individually for $13, except Rhinestone Cowboy, which is part of the set only.

I have champange wishes #2 solid, boogie nights #2 solid, army brat #3 solid, valley girl #2 solid, sugar free #2 solid, and mermaid #2 solid.

Champange wishes and boogie nights are my favourites, since they’re more usable day to day.

Valley girl is a lot more fuchsia than I expected, sugar free is more orange and neon than I thought it would be, and mermaid has sort of a purple grey colour going on that I’m not sure about.

I’m trying to find the perfect red toned purple glitter and I will be taking FULL advantage of their Black friday sale and getting pretty well every purple to find it.

S1 is only available in select solid colors, and S4 is also harder to come by, but it is available in a wider range. S1 is the consistency of a loose pigment, and has very little reflective quality, while S4 (“The Diva Cut”) is HUGE and definitely a sort of “drag queen” size. I have found both rather difficult to work with! S2 is my favorite, too! S3 is very nice for a little more “bling”; in this case, it doesn’t matter since Beautylish doesn’t carry a variety of sizes–I think all but 1 of these was only available in S2, and one is an S3.

Honestly, it has been my experience that the S2/S3 size varies greatly from one color to the next. Cher S2 is almost the size of Firecracker S1, while several other S2s are chunkier, like an S3. Some of my S3s are finer, more like the standard S2! The shimmers in S3 tend to run large, while the multi-color solids tend to run small. There doesn’t seem to be any perfect pattern one can follow to predict which one will be larger or smaller.

Sorry for my super-late interjection, but I was looking over your swatches because I was finally caving to buy 1 of these, but I’m going to have to wait again after all because I want Rhinestone Cowboy, but I’m not prepared to buy the whole set tonight. BUMMER! I’m curious how similar that is to Vegas, a holographic yellow gold I have, and Superfly to Cher, a silver holographic (all Lit). Lit is one of my obsessions; you don’t even want to know how much of this stuff I have. :\

I find that the smaller the glitter (size 1&2), the more precise you have to be with your glitter glue ratio when mixing them, otherwise the smaller ones tend to chunk up a bit. I avoid that by applying the glue first then patting the glitter over top… but you get WAY more fall out that way.

Size 1 and 2 are great for every day wear or for a more subtle look. I tend to lean more to the size 3 for that extra shine factor, and size 4 I leave set aside for photo shoots or clubbing. They’re quite a statement. The only size 4 I got nuts over is Barbie Shops since it’s mostly clear and can be layered over a normal shadow look.

The only stupid question is the one not asked. (:

Especially because there are several brands *cough*MAC*cough* that are not eye safe. But Lit is completely safe for any use, and thus my absolute favourite glitter maker on the market.

I got so excited when I saw the words Glitter Daze in the post title. I thought you were reviewing one of my favorite nail polish brands, GlitterDaze!!! Hopefully one day soon, they are a great quality brand with some awesome glitter combos!

As for this company, super cute! Not something I would personally wear, but i love the look of glitter eyes on other people!

I went to the beautylish site, but I only see them listed as a set. Am I missing something or is that the only way I can get rhinestone cowboy? If so, I’ll have to pass but that one is gorgeous.

You can buy all of them individually except Rhinestone Cowboy, per this in the description (link below): “Please note that Rhinestone Cowboy is currently only available for sale in the Glitter Daze Holographic Collection, a $75 value for $52.”

I’m so glad you’re getting to review LIT. I discovered them at IMATS in Vancouver back in 2011. It looks like they’ve added a sifter top to the inside of their glitter cases. The ones I have are wide open.
I love how they offer multiple sizes of the same colors (so you can small pieces or big chunks of glitter in any colorway).
thanks for the swatches 😀

If you order from the Lit Cosmetics website you can get Rhinestone Cowboy for free if you purchase 3 glitters (it’s the current “Free Stuff” glitter). It’s been like that for awhile now…not sure how much longer it will be the freebie though. I don’t think the others are available on their site though.

As far as the sizes go…I have a few size 1’s…they are really fine and apply almost like a pigment so they really don’t seem like a glitter at all. They aren’t exactly like an eye shadow though but they are great for someone that don’t feel very comfortable with a lot of sparkle or glitter in their look but want a little something different. I wish I could post a pic on here of a look or a swatch of a size 1 glitter to help better explain it lol.

I mostly have size 2 in my collection…I’d say it’s the “best” size…not too small and not to big. Standard I guess. I also mostly have solids in my collection versus metallics (there is a difference…I actually was able to tell when Jodie sent me a free metallic and solid of the same color so I could see the difference). On those…it really just depends on the color…you can actually justify owning both because the difference can really be seen.

I only own a few size 3’s….gorgeous detailed colors but the size is a bit bigger than I like for eye looks (which is what I mostly use the glitter for). It’s a bit more chunky but the sparkle is even greater. I can only imagine what size 4 is like!

I have 21 or 22 glitters (I was surprised when I actually sat down and counted them lol). I first got introduced to the brand earlier this year at IMATS NY and bought 3….the rest I ordered from the Lit website over a couple of times. There is always a “Free Stuff” option and Jodie Perks has always been amazingly nice with giving me extras with my orders WHILE giving me Lit Kits to giveaway on my blog so for that alone she’ll always have a supporter in me. Her customer service is amazing both in person (at IMATS) and when you order from their website…the handwritten notes, the constant contact throughout the ordering process…everything. Not to mention…the products are great. As you can tell I’m definitely a huge fan lol. I’m trying to be good and hold out until IMATS before I buy anymore glitter or at least wait until some of the new ones show up on Lit’s website so I can use the pro discount but some of these are gorgeous!
