Lisa Eldridge Lipsticks Swatches (x7)
There are four new, just-released shades of Lisa Eldridge Lip Colours (£26.00 for 0.12 oz.) in two new formulas–Luxuriously Lucent and Insanely Saturated–and the three original Red Velvet shades will be restocked in a few weeks. I purchased the original trio of lipsticks when they launched last year, but they sold out so quickly that I wanted to wait until a restock–time flies!–so here are swatches of the newest four shades along with the original three launched. All shades are limited edition.

I’m not a pink lipstick kind of girl and was pretty down about missing Velvet Jazz when it sold out so quickly last year. Glad her lipsticks have been well-received and we’ll get another crack at those reds.
Thank you for the swatches!
Ordered 3 lipsticks from the summer collection and looking forward to the re-release of the Velvet lipsticks later this month.
I bought the red ones when they came out. I love the feel of them and the packaging. I’m glad to see you swatching them!
Happy to see these featured on your page! I think I’ll skip the pink ones, Velvet Morning is screaming my name, but I’ve tried a bunch of these kind of orangy lip colours and they all make my lips incredibly rough looking, dry, patchy etc. It might be the pigment, I don’t know, but I won’t take the gamble with this one… I’m sure my ideal Eldridge lipstick will be launched some day… 🙂
I didn’t snap up any lipsticks from the original release because I have a ton of reds. After they were sold out, I of course suffered some FOMO. Pinks are another area of my lipstick collection that is well represented but I do think I am going to pick up a couple. I had better do it soon! I really wish I could pull off the Go Lightly shade. Lisa showed it on a lot of different skin tones but my issue is very pigmented lips. It was nice seeing her wear the original shade from Audrey Hepburn’s own lipstick case and I was hoping she would make a similar shade. Unfortunately, she did but not in a formula that will work for me. I may buy it anyway and see if I can find a close to matching lip liner and go for it.
The lipsticks are pretty pricey and given that the amount is in pounds on her website, it is going to be even more pricey when I do the conversion!! She did mention that she is funding the whole thing out of her own pocket so without a large brand backing her I am sure accounts for the high price.
Thank you for the swatches, Christine. I watched her swatches for both releases but she didn’t use a camera that would give the close up of her lips the way that you do. Plus, I doubt that she has consistent lighting the way you do. Your swatches are always so clear and much appreciated. Those of us who have followed the blog for many years are pretty able to have a good idea of how a product is going to rate by just looking at the swatches.
Total was $34 and some change including shipping.
After the product is no longer available, it wouldn’t be FOMO, would it? Something like SOMO: Sad Of Missing Out? Or ROMO: Regretful Of Missing Out? Just musing here…
You are absolutely right, Alecto. It is not FOMO but definite regret. I am waiting for the restock. I decided not to purchase any of the pinks as I had all but two of the dupes for one of the shades and quite a few dupes for the second. Obviously a colour I like. I have a lot of reds but I do want Velvet Rope so counting down the days!
I’m loving Rainbow Spill!
Very happy to see some nice quality WARM pink lipsticks for a change! Cool pinks don’t do much for me, minus the more mauvey MAC Mehr.
Loving the looks of Rainbow Spill and Skyscraper Rose! ?
Yeah, Skyscraper Rose is a stunner!
Christine what was your experience with shipping on these to the US? Was it expensive and slow?
I ordered the three Velvet lipsticks on 11/19/18, they shipped out 11/21, and I received the package on 11/23 (11/22 was Thanksgiving). Shipping was free.
I bought all the three red lipsticks last year and I love all of them. The finish of the velvet lipstick is impeccable and it just makes me so happy.
I bought all 4 new shades as soon as they launched and I am looking forward to receiving them.
Skyscraper rose reminds me of the flowers in my yard. I am glad that I waited for this release. Also, Rainbow spill is a color that I have been looking forward to owning.
I only have two bright pinky colors, Bobbi Brown Rich Lip color in cosmic raspberry and MUFE Rouge Artist Intense in 37. Both are the old formula but I still love wearing them.
The new formula she created both sounds lovely and owning the True Velvet lipstick I know that she has strong work ethics and integrity, Just like you Christine. Thank you.
The swatches look great! I wanted Rainbow Spill and Skyscraper Rose. But Skyscraper Rose is sold out and it cost almost $40 total to ship one lipstick. So I’ll wait until she restocks. Seems as though she would have made more inventory this time around but oh well.
Just like Wayne Goss she is completely self financing her collections, so she can only make as many as she can afford to pay the factory to make. It was the same for him in the beginning, that the demands for his brushes were way bigger than he could afford to make at once…
She works hard to create these formulas too and that too costs a lot, so for the first few years it will most likely be the same for Lisa Eldridge, that the demand is greater than she can afford to produce at once. But her stuff has so far been exquisite so it’s well worth the wait! At least I think so…;)
I purchased Go Lightly, Love of My Life and Skyscraper Rose! I debated about Rainbow Spill, but in the end it just looked too warm, too coral and I don’t think it would be as flattering as the other ones. It was expensive ($135 Canadian) but I have extremely high hopes. I’ll also be getting Velvet Jazz and Velvet Ribbon when she restocks them because even after all these months I still am mad that I missed out the first time!
Do you know if we will get hit with duties, I am also in Canada and want to purchase 3 lippies
I don’t have anything like Go Lightly so I ordered that one and I’m sure I’ll get lots of wear out of it this summer. Rainbow Spill looks close to Chanel Infrarose which I’ve got, but sure wish that I had also ordered Skyscrapet Rose before it sold out. It’s a beauty!
I am trying to decide if rainbow pill and skycrapper rise are too similar to buy both
Lisa’s creations are simply superb! I have her first collection & of course ordered the new ones for the summer ?
I purchased all 4 of the pinks. Unfortunately I missed out on the reds, but will definitely be purchasing when they are restocked. They are a bit on the pricey side, but I love pinks, and I don’t mind giving my money to Lisa Eldridge, as she seems like a genuinely nice person (who is also super talented).
These also look so good – especially Velvet Jazz.
Thank you Christine for featuring these! Even though I subscribe to Lisa’s newsletter / emails, I did not get notification that these had gone on sale. So the first I knew about it was your daily email. I went straight to her website and bought Go Lightly and Love of My Life, but Rainbow Spill and Skyscraper Rose were already sold out. I’m not sure I would have bought the latter two shades anyway – I’m in Australia and the exchange from pounds to our dollar is brutal – so I’m just glad I got the two I did. I bought all three of the Velvet lipsticks and they’re honestly the best matte lipsticks I’ve ever used, and am confident these will live up to the same standard.
Glad you were able to snag two, Ingrid! 🙂
Thanks for the swatches Christine, they sealed the deal for me! I’m an Aussie and I got Go Lightly and Love of My Life too. I almost didn’t because the conversion from pounds to AUD was terrifying… but hopefully they’re worth it.
I just happened to see her IG post about it and went to her website immediately. I would have ordered all of them if I’d had the money.
I ordered Rainbow Spill and Go Lightly and I can’t wait for them to arrive. Did anyone see the video of Lisa trying on Audrey Hepburn’s lipstick? I wonder if Go Lightly is an updated replica of it. That would be really awesome.
I saw her YouTube announcement and didn’t finish it immediately ordered go lightly. I don’t look good in bright pinks or reds hopefully this peachy color will work. I like cool and warm pinks and peachy pinks.
I ordered it wed it shipped wed and delivery is suppose to be tues. it was already in Ohio yesterday. My last purchase was fairly quick also.
Thank you for the swatches
I have Velvet Jazz, it’s really lovely, a gorgeous colour and it’s comfortable to wear.
I broke my new no-buy and ordered Love of My Life and Skyscraper Rose though I probably have dupes for the latter. I wanted to order Go Lightly, but decided against it as I very rarely use coral-y lipsticks.
I have a feeling both of the new ones will get a lot of use.
Go Lightly and Rainbow Spill are both calling to me, and I’m so happy to hear that Velvet Jazz will be re-released!
WHAT did we do to deserve this?
I have been scouting youtube for reviews of these lipsticks today!
You are definitely ahead of the times, dear Christine!
I broke my no-buy and went for Love of my life without any remorse!
I regret that I didn’t grab go lightly but it seems to be white based and I am holding out for a red velvet lipstick, as soon as they are restocked.
Also worth mentioning: I wrote Lisa’s support team an email asking them to halt off the delivery of my “love of my life” until I would purchase a red velvet lipstick (to cut down shipping costs + for the environment) and they were so helpful about that.
Love Lisa, I love supporting her, I am sure I will love this lipstick.
So glad to see this link today! I would also break my no-buy for you, Christine!
Lisa Eldridge certainly makes QUALITY lipsticks, no question! Christine, after some research of dupes on your site, I think MAC All Fired Up is a decent dupe of Skyscraper Rose. What do you think? (I am relieved that because I have All Fired Up, I don’t have to drop major dollars on Skyscraper Rose, not to mention the cost of shipping!) 🙂
Christine, another review mentioned a silicone feel the the plush true velvet lipsticks, did you notice anything truly unique about the formula or application? Would you compare the formula/feel to any other matte lipsticks you have tried lately?
Thanks for reviewing these, I was really hoping you would! ❤️
Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet/Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme, Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution, ColourPop Matte X, Guerlain Rouge G de Guerlain, NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, ColourPop Velvet Blur, MAC Powder Kiss, Giorgio Armani Rouge d’Armani Matte… just to name a few.
Thanks Christine! Really helpful to know other comparable formulas!
