Le Metier de Beaute Sun Drenched Bronzer Review, Photos, Swatches
Le Metier de Beaute Sun Drenched Bronzer
Le Metier de Beaute Sun Drenched Bronzer ($55.00 for 0.49 oz.) is a deepened, orange-toned brown with subtle gold sparkle. Guerlain Moyen Brunettes (05) (LE, $75.00) is less warm-toned, matte. Too Faced Sun Bunny #1 (P) is more shimmery, lighter. Wet ‘n’ Wild Bikini Contest (P, $3.99) is lighter, more muted. Clarins Splendours (LE, $35.00) is less shimmery, a little lighter. See comparison swatches.
According to the brand, the bronzer is described as a “sheer, silky-light powder.” If by sheer, they mean, intensely pigmented with the merest flick of the wrist, sure, we’re on the same page, but since that’s not at all what sheer means, their description is far off. The powder is so, so pigmented–a little goes such a long way–but the texture is incredibly soft, silky, and finely-milled, so at least part of what they say is true. It’s just slightly powdery, though. It’s absolutely possible to get a softer, sheerer application out of the bronzer, but you’ll want to use a stippling or less-dense brush and a lighter hand to do so. Otherwise, the application is easy, as the powder is very blendable, and it wears for a full eight hours before gradually fading.

This reminds me a bit of NARS Taj Mahal. I like it but don’t think it would suit me Taj Mahal made me look like a clown :(.
The pigmentation is certainly similar!
It’s nice but like Taj Mahal probably better for Dark skin. Would look amazing on black skin.
That’s a gorgeous shade, looks amazing on you…hey Christine, one request, can you do a post or video on how to click pics for your blog like what light you use & all?
Hi Gauri,
I have posted about this a few times in the past – here is the last time I did it: http://www.temptalia.com/tag/series-blogging-101
If you use the search function on our website, you’ll easily be able to find my posts on this topic! Simply searching for “how to take photos” yields great results!
Whoa, that’s insanely pigmented. Perhaps a bit on too pigmented for a bronzer, I’d say. Looking at the swatch, I could swear it was an eyeshadow. oO;;
I didn’t feel like it was a lot of work to get a softer color, but it’s definitely a product you have to be aware of more when you’re going to apply!
Certainly not for the heavy-handed or as forgetful as I am. 😛
Wow that pigmentation is intense! It looks great on you, Christine.
Thanks, Danielle!
My goodness, that really is pigmented! It looks incredibly sparkly in the pictures, i’m not sure its my type of thing. It also looks like a shade that would be too dark for me. But i’ve always loved the packaging of Le Metier De Beaute, i don’t know why:)
I could see it being too dark for some! It’s also running rather orange, which can be harder for some complexions/undertones to pull off!
My skin tone is fairly similar to yours, but i’m not as warm toned. While you definitely pulled it off, i don’t think i’d fare as well:) Shame really, i’m currently in the market for a good bronzer, and i keep on being disappointed. If you don’t mind, do you know of any lighter/more sheer bronzers, Christine?
What about something like Burberry Earthy? It’s brown-ish but not too warm, so it can be subtler.
Orange-toned bronzers don’t work for me since I’m so fair, but it looks great on you Christine!
Thank you!
Don’t they have these products tested before they name them?! The pigmentation is crazy! I don’t think that’s a bad thing though, but without your warning we could all end up very surprised lol.
Right? I kept thinking, “So, if I was in the market for a new bronzer, and I liked Le Metier, I’d read that description and expect a totally different product.”
Pretty! I don’t really care for shimmery bronzers though!
The shimmer is soooooo subtle, because it just disappears.
🙂 “If by sheer, they mean, intensely pigmented with the merest flick of the wrist, sure, we’re on the same page,” OMG! really sheer is how they describe it?
They do!
Dark and orange! Yikes!
Definitely not one for everyone!
Phew! This is definitely way to dark for me, but I’m impressed by the pigmentation! 😀
It is crazy pigmented!
This looks massively pigmented and should stay at least 10 feet away from me. Good bronzer application is not my thing. I either end up looking like a ghostly thing or sunburnt. *sigh*
LOL! Yes, if you are super fair, this might not be a good one!
Much too dark for me but a nice tk for tood on your complexion.
Thank you, Susan!
You are so funny, Christine! Love your reviews 🙂
I’ve been itching to try out a new bronzer (I currently use Benefit’s Hoola for contouring and Laura Mercier’s Matte Radiance Baked Powder in 03 for an all-over healthy tanned look), but this looks way too orange!
With a light hand, it works, but it can be an interesting shade to work with.
