Le Metier de Beaute Midnight Sky Eyeshadow
Le Metier de Beaute Midnight Sky Eyeshadow
Le Metier de Beaute Midnight Sky Eyeshadow ($30.00 for 0.13 oz.) is an incredibly deep, dark navy blue with soft frost finish. It almost seems like navy blue sheen over a blackened-blue base, because the level of darkness is so high, but it doesn’t read blackened blue at all. It looks a bit like MAC Blue Sheen used dry–but Midnight Sky is so much darker and opaque. Make Up For Ever #81 seems the closest but leans a touch purple.
The formula is buttery and almost creamy (but it is a powder) because of its denser texture. It applies smoothly and the color distributes evenly across the skin. I found it worked well both dry and wet with no real distinguishable difference between the two methods.
P.S. — I swear, I didn’t already review this, but I did review Lapis, which is a medium blue–but the two really are several shades away from each other!

I get so much fallout with this shade- even when I use it wet. It’s such a pretty color, but such a pain.
Great photos! What a gorgeous blue! It looks amazing in your swatches. I just love the texture & pigmentation of most of Le Metier’s shadows 🙂
Christine,
Did you try this shadow with a 239 or comparable brush? I’ve owned this shadow for a while and it doesn’t apply as nicely as it swatches. Mine doesn’t anyway.
I used it with the 239.
At first I thought it looked like UD Goddess, but now that I see the swatch, Midnight Sky looks richer and darker.
I want to make sweet love to this shade.
Love it!! This is what I was hoping Urban Decay’s Goddess would be like.
Wow. I really wish it were easier to get LMdB up here. That’s the most beautiful dark blue I’ve ever seen.
Very pretty. I feel like there have been very similar shades reviewed in the last month though (from other brands). Probably some are cheaper than $30 (for one eyeshadow!).
A possible dupe is Elizabeth Arden’s Indigo
It reminds me of Inglot #428 – they have the same intensity but Inglot is more of a jewel blue, a few shades lighter. Very pretty!
Yeah… it doesn’t matter how beautiful/well formulated a blue is… I’ll never be able to wear it.
Digging LMDB’s Chameleon though, you just reminded me to add that to my wishlist <3
This is what I call Midnight Blue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How close is this to Mac’s Climate Blue ?
Climate Blue seems purpler!
Hmm it kinda looks like MAC Blue Flame.
