Laura Mercier Pine Bronze Sateen Eye Colour

Laura Mercier Pine Bronze Sateen Eye Colour

Laura Mercier Pine Bronze Sateen Eye Colour ($22.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “smoky green with bronze shimmer.” The Sateen formula is designed to be a “lightweight eyeshadow with a creamy powder texture” with “intense, luminous color” that has “superior blending” and “long-wearing, crease-resistant application.”

It’s an olive green with subtle, pale gold shimmer strewn through it, but it has more of a satin sheen than it is shimmery. The level of pigmentation is very nice–smooth, mostly even color that is opaque with little need to build the color to get there. Like Cedar, it wears best over a primer, but the product claims long-lasting wear without mention of a primer. It wears for about seven hours before I start noticing subtle creasing but more noticeable fading.

Inglot #419 is a frosted, metallic variation of this color, but because of those two characteristics, I would not call them dupes at all. The color is more like Urban Decay Urb, but Urb lacks pigmentation and has texture issues. It is very similar to Burberry Khaki.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Not sure I’m feeling this color. Almost looks like a baby poop green to me. I think it’s one of those colors that works better as an ‘ugly’ nail polish shade than an eye shadow, but obviously to each their own.

I like it in the pan but maybe instead of it being a “satin sheen” then maybe it should have been “shimmery” to bring out more of the bronze. I actually prefer more of a satin sheen but I think the formula for this e/s could be better. It looks pretty plain and with shade of green I think you really need to make it special. However, I’ll still check it out in person before completely rejecting it. 🙂

I got this over the weekend and LOVE it! I have a hard time finding greens I can wear – I have green eyes with gold in them and most greens look ridiculous on me (usually too much blue in them). This one is PERFECT! It looks great with the Antique Jade eyeliner in this collection.
