What was the last product you dropped?

What was the last product you dropped? Did it survive?

Guerlain Parure de Lumiere foundation bottle… yes, thankfully! It wasn’t too far of a drop.

I am a clumsy, clusmy lady, so I drop things all the time. Last thing I dropped was Urban Decay Bust eyeshadow…while I was bringing it to the counter. Fortunately, it didn’t break, haha. (The Cargo Yukon tester I dropped a few minutes prior wasn’t so lucky…in my defense, I don’t know how the pan had separated from the tin!) The last thing I dropped and *broke* was my bottle of MAC Mineralize liquid foundation. It was nearly 3/4 full! I was not happy, to say the least.

illamasqua’s poke! i didn’t even know i dropped it in the garden until I came back home from work. I have no idea how it happened, but thank god everything’s still ok!

If you use the crush it all up and add alcohol and press fixing method they go back to awesome. I broke one of the hourglass ambient blushes and it works great after the fix even though I cracked it into smithereens when I dropped it.

Oh, this is so sad. I think the last one was my Bobbi Brown stick concealer. It partially survived. It was open and turned up some, I had just finished using it. Fell into my sink, so I just took the exposed top of it off.
Definitely had some tragic makeup falls, like my very last Too Faced eyeshadow duo in Boy Toy. Broke into fine powder all over the floor, no way to salvage even a bit, and it’s discontinued. Never quiet found a light pink like that one.

The last one i dropped was Chantecaille’s Les Pétales de Rose powder! Although the powder broke into pieces-inside the case- it’s still usuable so i dare to say that it did survive the fall somehow!!!lol The one that didn’t survive was my Guerlain’s Terracotta Blush Sun Shimmer Highlighter in sunny pink..so sad so sad.. It happened two summers ago but it’s still painfull- it was only a month old!! ‘”sob” 🙁

It’s also a Guerlain product for me: Les Voilettes pressed powder. I love the product but dislike the packaging, which I find too light and slippery. I’ve dropped it twice already and a bit of the powder broke loose in small chunks each time. I managed to pick up the bigger ones and put them in a small jar.

Guerlain pressed meteorites but I have my newest one at home and then a mostly used one in my bag so when I finish the one in my bag, the home one gets demoted and I get a new one for home. I dropped my bag one which was well into hitting the pan so it wasn’t as bad as breaking a new one!

Dropped and destroyed: A five-pan eyeshadow that I had for years. It was some bargain brand neutral palette so no big heartbreak there.
Dropped and survived: Dropping things is a weekly occurrence for me, but the MAC 179 brush in the toilet was my finest moment! I can’t even guess how many times I washed it, then had to wait a couple days for it to dry. Seat down rule from that moment on!

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that. The Hourglass primer is pretty fantastic.

Now that you broke it though, maybe you can consider buying the 2.0 oz version from Sephora. You get more bang for your buck ($36/oz vs $52/oz) AND it’s packaged in a tube. So you can go ahead and drop it as many times as you’d like. 😉

A Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadow at the same time as my favorite D&G blush. Knocked them both right off the vanity onto a hard surface floor. I am not to be trusted around expensive makeup. Thankfully, both survived.

I dropped my new Bobbi Brown shimmer brick on the kitchen floor yesterday while opening the package. I hadn’t taken it out of it’s little box yet, and I’m sure that’s what kept it from breaking. Not a scratch!

I drop things on a regular basis, so I couldn’t say what the last one was… However, I only apply “complexion” products in the bathroom mirror, and foundation goes directly onto a palette, before heading into the bathroom, so if I drop the bottle it lands on carpet. Other products get applied in my bedroom, so again, carpet is the savior!

That said, I’ve had products/compacts end up with the contents shattered in my bag, although I always set it down gently. I’ve also had UD Scratch & NARS Cyprus mysteriously shatter in their respective drawers, although they were never dropped. Fortunately, I was able to repair both, but a few NARS compacts ended up pretty dirty…

Creme blush on the rug. Not a disaster, but I had to remove a few fuzzies from it. My dropping things is why I have the rug though. Former eyeshadow palettes have not been so lucky.

Benefit Sugarbomb! i was reading about the size changing in order to make the pans the same in the box but less product so they don’t shatter, now i know why lol. I was getting ready to pack 3 benefit blushes up for a trade and that one did not survive, and strangely they were all wrapped in bubble and dropped about 2 feet onto tile. ;/ and i drop a lot of things but blush usually isn’t one of them

My Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette, a week after I got it (as an anniversary present). I broke Smokeout completely. I had used it for a smokey eye the day before and was looking forward to using it again. I broke two corners off of Coax with that drop too, but I am still able to use it. I was disappointed. I got it al over my train case and all over my couch.

Brenda Avatar

ugh, my Shell Pearl beauty powder from the Liberty of London collection. It didn’t completely shatter – about a third of it is broken on one side, but there’s lots of little bits that fall when I open it. I was so sad. I will definitely never take it out of my house now (traveling) for fear it will just shatter completely!!

Nikki Avatar

I didn’t drop it per se, but the last product I destroyed was my Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette. I packed it for my trip home during Christmas, and when I unpacked it from my makeup bag all the colors that I love (the entire left side of the palette) were crumbled and mixed together. I’d planned to buy another one, but I’ve been wanting to try out the UD Naked 2 Palette, so I just decided to replace it with that instead.

Whitney Avatar

I dropped my entire collection of blushes a few months ago. About a third of them were destroyed. It was a terrible tragedy at the time, but I got over it quickly at the Chanel counter. LOL

Quinctia Avatar

Haha, I knocked a lip balm tin off my nightstand last night. I couldn’t figure out where it went, it seemingly disappeared. Somehow it managed to fly off and get wedged between my bedframe and the mattress. So no wonder I couldn’t find it on the floor.

My toddler managed to get ahold of my brand new Ambient Lighting Powder the other day and dropped it. Wasn’t broken at least…probably because the height she dropped it from is obviously MUCH smaller than where *I* would’ve dropped it from.

Jennifer Avatar

I dropped my Hourglass Ambient Mood Light just a few days ago. Thankfully there wasn’t too much damage – just a few flakes and a small crack in the powder.

Dione Avatar

An almost full bottle of Josie Maran Argan oil I had in my medicine cabinet fell out and hit my bathroom sink just right to break and spill EVERYWHERE! I was so upset; it was a 50ml bottle and I expected it to last well over a year. I went and bought a new one and don’t keep it in there anymore!

Florence Avatar

Lancome Mat Miracle 24h Foundation (the one in the glass bottle with black cap). Thankfully it was still in the box. It didn’t break at all. 🙂

Jade Avatar

My bottle of MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC15!! It now has a crack in the base, though it doesn’t seem to be leaking. I’m not longer using it, so it’s in the fridge, along with my NC20 bottle – not sure if my skin has changed or my bottles have gotten past their used by dates…

I usually apply make up in my bedroom, which has carpet, so things rarely get damaged if they make a dive for the floor, but I was down at the in-laws holiday house and they have tiles…!

Either my BH Galaxy Chic Palette (thank god it survived unharmed!) or my first Too Faced Glamour to Go II Palette, but the shadows (almost all of which I’ve hit pan on) are all just fine! Not a bad drop, this time around. I broke the compact (the lid is taped to the hinges after a particularly bad fall) a really long time ago so there’s not much more harm that can be done to it. Certainly a well used palette! Even though that edition isn’t sold anymore, I’ve got a backup for when it finally runs out 😉 As for the Galaxy Chic Palette, I’d be furious with myself if I ever broke any of those baked shadows.
