Lancome's Declaring Indigo Collection - Indigo Charm Eyeshadow Palette, Indigo Charm Ink Artliner Review, Swatches, Photos
Indigo Charm Eyeshadow Palette
Lancome’s Declaring Indigo Collection is an inspired collection amongst the fall launches, but it is (clearly, my opinion only!) the best Lancome collection to-date. It is stunning. It’s wearable, but there are pops of bold, indigo-blue weaved throughout the launch to make it intense. The collection itself is fairly large, encompassing well over twenty different items to please your makeup tastes. I have a few pieces to show you, and also some swatches I did while at Nordstrom last week for the ones I didn’t end up with, but since it’s such a large launch, you can expect a few posts over the course of the day showcasing my favorite pieces!
For my favorite item from the launch, it’s a tie between Indigo Charm Eyeshadow Quad ($40.00) and Indigo Paris Le Vernis ($18.00). (It seems I might have a thing for blues, yeah?) The eyeshadow palette is a stunning mix of deep blues and softer antique golds. Long-time readers know I am a big fan of antique golds and that hasn’t changed, so this quad is completely after my heart. I really didn’t stand a chance, I swear! There is a bold, satiny velvet blue, a deep, rich antique-gold, a softer, more golden-toned antique gold, and finally a shimmery dark blue with silver sparkle. Each is extremely pigmented, feels smooth and velvety to the touch, and leaves no room for questions. High quality and not a single mediocre shade in the bunch.
Paired with the rich indigo-blues of the launch is Indigo Charm Ink Artliner ($23.50). There are also two other shades available: Brun Elegance and Noir Magnificence. Lancome’s Ink Artliers are a new gel-based eyeliner formula that feels creamy, without being too creamy. They dry down fairly matte–they don’t have a wet look–and look much like they do in their pots. Indigo Charm is a rich, navy blue with slight blue shimmer and a little sheen. This is a color that really makes peepers pop (especially brown eyes), and it’s bold enough without being overly bright that it is great to wear alone for just a hint of color.

Holy crap! I want the palette! The blue is STUNNING
I know! Sigh!
Amazing colors! I’ll be sure to check out this palette when it comes out, I love indigo colors.
I hope you like it, Chiara!
Yes! They are both gorgeous! I can’t wait for my local counters to get them!
I hope your counter gets it soon!
Love this palette, wanted the liner to be slightly closer in colour to the palette blues but still looks good.
I was hoping for a bit bluer, too, but it’s still really pretty!
These are gorgeous. I can’t wait to see what you do with them.
I know! Really pretty launch!
Hi Christine, i’m thinking of getting a blue gel liner and was leaning towards MAC Fluidline from Waveline – I’m looking for a vibrant, bright but deep blue (not navy). Do you think the Lancome one or Waveline is better. i’m NC 43 for reference pls. thanks
PBI: Waveline is an incredibly disappointing color. The pigmentation is terrible and it goes on incredibly sheer.
If you had to choose between the two, I would go for the Indigo Charm – no question. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m waiting on mine to come in the mail. 🙂
thanks =)
Hmm, Waveline is bluer. Not quite as dark blue. I don’t know if either are navy, though. I like the way the Lancome one applies a bit more.
There’s a post on MakeupAlley where someone tried the liner on her eye and said that within the hour, the liner actually CRACKED! anybody else?
I didn’t have any trouble with it… lasted like the typical gel liner – many, many hours!
Such gorgeous golds and blues, will definitely get the quad. 🙂
I’m such a sucker for golds, LOL!
Hope you enjoy it, Anitacska!
I’m getting both!!! Such a lovely collection. French Revolution is a really unique idea for a collection huh?
This + Urban Decay Fall 09 + M.A.C. Style Black will destroy my wallet.
Glad you liked it, Kayra 😀
When is this collection coming out? I only have seen it at Nordstrom, but when does it hit chain department stores such as Macy’s etc?
August, I do believe, Holly!
Where can I find this in Canada and when!?
Can somebody pass me a ShamWow? It seems I’ve drooled all over my laptop. 😉
These are so pretty! I’m crushing hard on blues and golds!
would love to see a look tutorial on this palette, its gorgeous!
This is amazing! I too, believe this is the best Lancome collection ever. I can’t recall Lancome ever putting out a collection that stood out like this..bold & beautiful. Christine – I know you do sooo much for us already, but if any time allows, can you please do a look w/ the Indigo Charm palette? Blues are sometimes intimidating for me. I know how to amp blues up for night looks but struggle trying to make them work for day even though I know it is possible. Thanks!
I second this! Pretty please!
I know, right? It’s really stunning and totally not expected and yet it feels like a Lancome launch.
I’ll definitely try!
this would of been awesome to have for high school! These were my hs colors, lol!
lol, aww!
oh my those indigos are just stunning and beautiful!
Agreed, Ilona!
nice colors, I see MAC’s Patina lol
I wish Patina looked like that on me!
Wow those are beautiful I want it!!!
Love these!! Anybody know when they be at Sephora??
August, I think!
Mmm… I am very tempted. I’m almost 100% certain to pick up the Ink Artliner, because I’ve been looking for a good blue gel liner, and none have caught my eye so far… until now. But as gorgeous as the quad is… what size are the shadows? Are they the same size as MAC shadow pans? (ie, can I de-pot them? I’ve made a resolution not to buy shadows I can’t easily de-pot into more travel-friendly formats…) That may be the only way I can successfully resist…
You definitely gotta get that, Jennifer! They’re a little smaller than the shadow pans, I think, TBH!
I am really tempted by that palette but can someone swatch it vs MAC goldmine or flip e/s and deep truth? I don’t want any dupes, arghs. Or maybe I just need an excuse not to buy.
IMO, Goldmine nor Flip are similar! Goldmine is really a yellow-y gold, and Flip has a lot of peach to it. Deep Truth is similar to the dark blue, but it’s a bit darker.
This looks pretty, but the blues are pretty sheer and real indigo meaning blue-purple more on the purple side on me (medium skin). They look smaller than the regular Lancome quads but can’t find the size on line.
I don’t have much Lancome to compare to, unfortunately, so I’m not sure if these are smaller or not, though they seem about the same to me.
We finally got this here in Singapore!!! the palette on its own is SGD$88 but there was a promotional set – the palette, the nail polish, a blue pencil eyeliner, a Virtuous Mascara (all full size), a bifacil (30 ml) for SGD$165 which i got!
so happy!
Yay! I’m so happy it came!
the colors look pretty much the same
