I want it all! Specially the designed-CUTE-I’ll buy it and never wear it cause it’s so pretty blush! 😉
agree!
The shape of the special lipstick tube reminds me of the old Urban Decay lippies! I had to pre-order that blush immediately after missing out on the butterfly one earlier this year 🙂
My thoughts exactly, those shotgun shells were cool.
I thought that too! I still have a couple of those.
Love the 2 eyeshadow palettes and especially the golden one! Usually, I’m more drawn to grey but that golden palette looks so beautiful, indeed. And the taupe shade in the grey palette (the one on the far right) looks fabulous too!
I’m surprised that they put shades with similar tones in the warmer palette (by tone, I mean the spectrum between light to dark; I’m not saying that they are the same color/hue). Pity they didn’t use a darker brown, something you could use in the crease or as a liner alternative to the black.
Well, maybe not surprised; more, disappointed. If I recall correctly from some of Christine’s previous reviews, this has happened before with some of the Color Design palettes. It seems like they want to provide similar tones but with different finishes; while this might appeal to some, I would find the palette more useful if it contained a deep, non-black shade.
lol, no one will be able to use the blush…^^
We (Australian media) got our first sneak peak at this collection the other week and we have a completely different eye pallete release. Ours is a quad with brown and taupe colours.
I love seeing how the bring brands bring out variances on a global collection.
The cool-toned palette (Gris Fatale?) just went to the top of my wish list!
Not too impressed with the collection, but the blush definitely looks like something to watch out for.
That blush looks AMAZING =D
The blush is pretty, but I can’t wear it – way too light! I like the red lipstick and the nail colors.
GORGEOUSSSSS Love the eyeshadow palette!!
I cannot believe how unnatural and plastic the models in the picture appear to be. Are they selling us makeup, or Photoshop?! The brown-eyed girl on the left has slightly off eyes – and the skin on the girl on the right is unnaturally coloured around the mouth and cheeks. It’s just so obvious. I don’t normally comment on these things, but this is badly done.
Retouchers need to be so careful when altering photographs; small mistakes can make a big difference in the overall impact of an image.
In the case of the model with the brown eyes, the whites of her eyes have been brightened. This is fairly standard, but it can reduce the contoured appearance of an eye. The inner corner of her right eye (on our left when we look at the picture) looks too large because the white eyeball merges with the tear duct. Suddenly she has a “wonky” eye and the face looses some of its beautiful symmetry.
I like the styling of the image but I don’t like the execution for multiple reasons. The photoshop is one element, but the makeup of the blue eyed model is more problematic for me. Perhaps the excess bronzer was used to create visual contrast with the fairer-skinned model, but it really doesn’t work in this instance. Why on Earth didn’t they use a woman of color, instead? It would have made for a much more beautiful image in my opinion. (side note: I don’t want to assume too much, but it’s possible that it never even occurred to them. Diversity in model casting is still a huge problem in the modeling industry. /rant)
I really thought I was the only one that noticed this. I felt like I was being too scrutinizing but it really does look ridiculously altered, almost like a noobie did it…
What bothers me the most is the right girl’s cat wing eyeliner. The angle just seems so off…
I agree Darae! That liner on the right was the very first thing that drew my eye in this picture. I noticed it before the red lipstick, the black feathers, the overall look…before everything! The picture was on my screen and I wasn’t thinking “Oh, a new Lancome collection”; it was “What the heck is with that messed up liner?”
Whoever the makeup artist was who worked with that model was clearly struggling. Strange that with all the time and money Lancome spent for the shoot, retouching, etc., they didn’t get the makeup right. It’s just so basic, right?
I’m so impressed with this collection; it’s stunning, well edited, and perfectly cohesive. In other words: all killer, no filler!
The concept certainly isn’t new, but if they nail the formulas (as I know Lancome is capable of) these will be timeless shades that will appeal to — and flatter — many women. The blush is the flash piece that will draw collectors and makeup addicts (I love and frequently wear my Fever Butterfly blush. And it still looks pretty in the pan!), but someone just getting into makeup could buy the entire collection and have an instant chic makeup wardrobe. Well done, Lancome.
Wow! CANNOT WAIT for the blush, it’s adorable and the color looks gorg!!!! I have 2 of their 5 shadow and liner palettes, and they both are excellent quality-very smooth and excellent color pay off, so I may pick up the smoky one here. Excited!!!! Thanks for the post!
I want the blush!
Meh! Blah! Very underwhelming collection. I was excited by the description but the actual products are so-so. The blush is too pale and would not show up on most skintones. Maybe as a highlighter but on very pale skin. The eye shadow palettes are nothing special color-wise; nothing that most of us don’t already have 10 times over. I love red lipsticks but already must have at least 30 at home.
Will gladly pass. I am way more interested in the Chanel Byzantin collection!
Christine, will you be reviewing any of the products? I hate to buy things without checking with you first!
omg, maybe I’m just weird but at first glance the model on the left looked like a dressed up Casey Anthony! Creeped me out! lol
That’s Isabella Rossellini’s daughter, Elettra Wiedemann.
Thanks for that, Shannon! I had no idea this was her daughter. I’m such a fan of Isabella Rossellini.
Elettra is very beautiful, and can clearly rock the French gamine look just like her mother. I could picture both of them wearing this makeup with a chic black fitted tuxedo! Pity she doesn’t have Isabella’s nose, though — so iconic! Well, maybe it’s for the best then; she has her own distinct look and doesn’t have to be constantly in her mother’s shadow.
I’m pretty sure we’re getting a different eyeshadow palette in Europe, is that possible? Beaut.ie had the collection featured a few days ago and they had a different palette listed.
Only leaving it because we no longer have a dept store within 200 miles now due to loss of ours in the recession. So if I cannot go to the counter and play, I don’t tend to buy Lancome anymore…and it’s sad as I used to spend a lot of $ at the Lancome counter. It was my go to brand for color. I spent tons on their skin care until finally I really could not stand the scent that is in a almost all of the Lancome skin care. Olay also has a scent I cannot bear. It turns my stomach. I really wish some of these widely distributed brands could figure out a way to get them back into the semi rural areas that have been hit so hard by lack of good brand shopping.
OH MY. that blush is gorgeous. MUST HAVE<3
but no, i will have to wait for your final judgement Christine<3
OMG, they all are sooo gorgeous!
Wonder if the quality is good!!
I NEED that blush, but I will never use it! It will sit on display lol
This line reminds me of Michelle Phan look
The blush is beautiful, but I still have the butterflies from earlier, no way can I justify this one too XD
I was going to get the one with the butterflies! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to so I guess I can justify this purchase? ;D
I like the design with the Eiffel tower better lol.
I loved the palettes but the shades look like they can be easily duped.
I hope you will swatch the blush (please!).
i would really looooove to know which e/s combos the model on the left side has on… =)
i really wanna see swatches of the palettes
