Do you keep track of what looks you’ve created or worn? If so, how?

If I didn’t blog, I don’t think I would, but since I do, I keep track in a text file by date!

Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

My most favorite looks, I write down what shadows I used in a notebook. Sometimes I get stumped on a look I should where when going out and don’t have a lot of time trying to figure one out from scratch.

I was just thinking about this yesterday! I have so many eyeshadows that I am going to start writing the combos down. I’m even going to note what I was wearing. I might even go so far as to create a spreadsheet. Yeah, I’m a Nerd.

I often mean to and keep meaning to get a little booklet to keep in my bathroom and write down especially successful looks but I never actually do it because once I’m done, I’m usually rushing out to work (it’s one reason I used to like that “What We’re Wearing” feature…I could look back to looks I’d recalled and posted).

I never used to, but we went to Harry Potter world over Christmas and I went a bit overboard with my HP purchases. I got a really nice journal, but I have never once in my life kept a journal for more than a few days. I now use that journal as a “look journal”. If I do a look and really like it, then I will write down what and where I used things.

Fancie, don’t worry – they are probably out having fun with my bottle of Clinique eye makeup remover. I decant that stuff into a smaller bottle to keep in my vanity but the large bottle has vanished and it’s such a bright, vivid aqua colour that I can’t understand how it can manage to hide!

Definitely my blog. XD It’s really helpful when trying to figure out how to recreate certain looks, since there are both photos, and I write down a step by step tutorial with each of my posts. If I don’t happen to do a post for my look though, it’s lost to the world.

When I’m just playing around in my makeup and I just so happen to throw together a combination I really like, I will save it in a note in my phone so I can repeat it in the near future.

No never kept track but if a look really works then I try to remember at least combinations that work. Notebook or face charts sound like a good idea.

With the blog I end up recording the makeups I do and the products used, which is cool in my opinion, shows my progress and I can repeat that makeup that I liked a lot.
The same with products. I love filming ~ favorites of the month, is a way to make a “rotation” and use all the makeup I have. I have a lot of makeup and if I don´t do these weekly changes, I always end up wearing the same things.

I kind of did when I used to blog, but sometimes I still could not remember some products or where I wore it. Now, I only remember those looks which were really outstanding and interesting.
