KBShimmer Pastel Me More Nail Lacquer
KBShimmer Pastel Me More Nail Lacquer ($8.75 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as a “rainbow of pastel colors from pink to periwinkle” with “several different sizes of hex glitters.” It’s a fun confetti-like mix of light blue, copper, pink, periwinkle, and yellow in medium hexagon-shapes as well as small and smaller glitters. The effect–but only at a glance–reminded me of Cult Nails Happy Ending, but Happy Ending is shredder glitter and not quite the same in composition.
KBShimmer recommends applying one coat of this over a base color, as it is listed as a glitter top coat. It had good coverage in a single coat, which I applied over China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On. I did apply two coats of the top coat alone on my thumb nail so you could see the effect/opacity–it’s definitely a shade that’s best used as recommended: as a top coat. It could have dispersed the glitters more evenly across the nail, so you might need to do some pushing to get a more even look if that’s what you’re after. The consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin, and it didn’t take too long to dry or feel really thick on the nail.

Christine, you know how I loves my glitters and finding cool layering polish combos so I can definitely relate to the dreaded glitter search and placement. It drives me bonkers. One of my ways of fighting back: I tend to lay the brush almost flat along the nail during application.. stroking the glitter coat on rather than brushing. But let’s face it, some of them are just a b*tch 😉 and destined for the back drawer 🙁 Love your base coat!!
That’s a good technique! Sometimes I will press the plastic stem against the nail since it seems to hold a lot of glitter, LOL!
ditto!! 😀
And don’t get me wrong… this was not one of the BIG offenders, LOL!
I’ve yet to find a glitter coat with a mix of glitter sizes that spreads the glitter evenly. I tend to dab a glitter coat on and then lightly brush to even/get rid of excess clear varnish. I do think some glitters are worth the effort though and this one does look lovely. I need another glitter top coat like a hole in the head..!
I like the mix of colours. I love wearing these over black.
I could see it being quite lovely over black!
This looks so lovely! 😀
Looks pretty! Too bad it’s a bit tricky to use.
Love the oyster background with the glitter. Most glitter polish is simply too messy and sloppy for a DIY job.
