This is going to sound silly and superficial but even if I had access to KvD in my country, I wouldn’t buy this. I don’t like this alignment for eyeshadows at all, it doesn’t inspire me at all. I think I’d have liked it better if they were aligned in lines or rounds like a regular palette.

September Avatar

I agree. That’s one reason why I won’t be getting this palette. I think it looks like it could be for little girls to play with. It’s kinda tacky too.

beka Avatar

it is driving me crazy that the aubergine shade is lined up exactly with the one on the inner circle while none of the others are lined up. maybe this is my OCD talking, but I could never use this, no matter how good the shadows were.

Katherine T. Avatar

I was eyeing this Kat Von D kit vs. UD Spectrum and decided to go with UD since the colors are more to my liking but I’m hoping to see swatches/reviews soon of Kat Von D one. I like how this seems to have a better mix of finishes

Fil Avatar

Palette is not for me. I was looking forward to the palette but only love the colors from lemmy to swoon. Have to wait for your holiday reviews since I cant swatched them (live international) I cant wait :D!!

Aditi Avatar

I wish they’d included more wearable shades in the lip set! But I’m after the eyeshadow palette – I chose this over the UD spectrum because I like how this has a mix of finishes. That being said if the quality of this palette is anything like last year’s, I’ll be tremendously disappointed.

Jenny Cupcakes Avatar

I got this just because. If it sucks, it’s going back. I really wanted the UD Spectrum but I’m not a VIB/Rouge so I’ll have to make do with this til I get it.

Nicole Avatar

Does anyone know if the lipsticks are older formula or new?
The palette I want. But, I really would like to see a review first. I already bought UD Vice and it feels like it I buy every palette I want I’m going to be in overload and poor! I really like the color scheme. Yes, it is bulky as can be. But, it wouldn’t be the first bulky palette in my collection.

Neonails Avatar

The lipsticks should be the new formulation, because they’re in the new studded packaging. At least, I hope it’s new–seems like it would be a bait & switch to bring out the old formulation for a holiday set.

I love the range of colors with this palette as well. I was considering picking up the TF set, which is just as, if not more, bulky, but I think this is a better suited palette, just because it offers a full range of color.

Nicole Avatar

Good point and now I want that too! Ugh. I totally caved and just ordered the palette. The customer reviews on Sephora are all 5 star except one girl complaining because they don’t ship to her country. I was going to wait for Christine’s review. But, I love this (by the looks) and if I missed out , I’d kick myself. But, I already ordered this and Vice 4 this week and my foundation is almost empty.Oh, yeah, just ordered the Colourpop shadow capsule this am. Now,I totally feel like I am going to need this lipstick set. I have 2of the new shades. I love them. I wish I could be bold enough to ask someone to gift this to me. But it is September! Ugh. My wallet hates me.haha!

xamyx Avatar

I have the last 2 Holiday palettes, and while they are rather large, they’re also quite thin. From what I can tell, this is going to be the same/similar in dimension. The only difference is that this comes in a “sleeve”, where the others flipped open.

xamyx Avatar

This is one I’ll have to swatch myself… Several shades just seem like renamed older shades, and although I like the look of Destroyer in the photo, I’ve found shades to be described as “strawberry” to lean too pink or orange…

Deidre Avatar

The palette is appealing to me even though I don’t tend to use some of the colors (greens & blues) in there. That being said if I wanted to use a color that was in there I wouldn’t have to go out and buy it as it would be in there. I am going to wait and see how the reviews/swatches are first though.

Rachel R. Avatar

These both look great. I want to see swatches and reviews of the palette first, though. I’m not repeating my mistake with last year’s Star Studded Palette. I only have one shade in the lipstick set, so this might be a good way to get colors I don’t have yet. Stunning packaging, as always.

jaz Avatar

I think I want this. But idk if I can justify it because I am about to attempt to get vice 4 and the spectrum palette. Hmmm. Maybe I can get this in November though.

Paz Avatar

As someone who owns most of Sugarpill’s shadows, I can safely say… I can’t get this in my country, and it’s probably not worth trying. I do like it, if I had it in front of me I’d totally buy it, but I don’t need it bad enough -or at all- to deal with the shenanigans I’d have to go through to get it. I’ll wait for KvD’s next release, hopefully it will be more neutrals person friendly.

Vanessa Avatar

I can see what you mean…if I had sugarpill shadows, I might not be purchasing this palette. For me though, sugarpill doesn’t sell one HUGE palette that has all of the colors in it (they did once in the past, but I missed out on it). I don’t go through colors as quickly as I go through neutral shadows, so I actually like that this palette has smaller pans but more shades. On top of that, I love the way that the palette is arranged…color theory, here I come! The layout, though bulkier, really helps me to be more creative.

Paz Avatar

The arrangement of the shadows is brilliant, I agree. It helps you keep color theory in mind when you do your makeup, so you can easily come up with more creative looks than you usually would. I can totally see that, and I love the concept. If I’d didn’t have dupes for most of these colors, I’d love to have this palette. I think I’ll hang a print of the color wheel on the wall or something ?

Nancy T Avatar

Hmmm, after how awful last year’s palette reviewed and swatched, uh-uh, I’ll sit tight and wait to decide AFTER this is reviewed. Gold-Hearted lipstick does sound somewhat tempting, though! These are only “maybe’s, probably not’s” for me, however.

Mesa Avatar

The only gripe with this palette is I find it weird they didn’t include a hot sort of Candy Yum Yum pink. Other than that, it looks nice, I’ll wait for a review before purchasing though…

Bmarie Avatar

Totally ordered this this morning! I figure if I don’t love it, I can return it since it’s through Sephora. I definitely agree that I am not a fan of the shadow arrangement, but I get what they were doing too, as a play off the color wheel. Not super practical for my kit (I’m a freelance MUA), but whatevs. If the pigmentation is really good I’ll make do 🙂 I am not super enticed by UD spectrum, only because I feel like there are a lot of other palettes with similar jewel tones and brown tones already. Part of the draw for me with Mi Vida Loca is that they’re SO bright, less muted than most. I think they’ll be awesome to mix in with my existing eyeshadows, or standalone for some bright, edgy fun 🙂

BonnieBBon Avatar

I haven’t been wowed yet either. I saved all my Ebates money in PayPal all year so I could go wild on the holiday stuff without feeling guilty. I’m sure by the time December rolls around I’ll have found plenty….if not I can finally start a serious relationship with some Tom Ford beauties 🙂

BonnieBBon Avatar

I’m glad to see you commented! I know we haven’t “talked” before but your not another dark brown shadow comments always make me smile. When I saw this I thought of you and wondered what you’d think. I hope it swatches great for you 🙂 I look demented when I wear lovely brights. I wish I could pull them off!!!

Vanessa Avatar

I hope it does well because I really want that palette! Currently, my only high-end palette is the Tartelette palette. I love neutrals, but I think I love colorful shadows even more! I only started wearing makeup about 3 years ago, buying high-end about 1 year ago, so that’s how I justify wanting to buy this and the UD Spectrum palette, lol! It seems like 99% of palettes in general are neutrals and I’m probably in the minority, but I’d love to see more really colorful palettes released permanently.

Jules Avatar

I LOVE this idea of this eyeshadow palette. It’s just plain fun and great for experimenting with new looks, which is exactly how makeup should be. I really don’t need anymore eyeshadow but I am very tempted. If the quality is there, and the colors are super saturated, then I may go for it.

WARPAINTandUnicorns Avatar

I pains me to say that I’ll have to skip the Mi Vida Loca Remix palette. Unless i can grab itinstore i really do have to many eyeshadows like these shades in other brand. Also they are all LE, Plus it’s $71CAN.

Thought am going to get this years Mi Vida Loca Remix Studded Kiss Lip Set, all 7 permament shades and in the new formula yes please.

Alecto Avatar

Okay. I had talked myself into getting the Art. Love. Color. Master Class Smashbox palette (if it tested well), but I like the intensity of the colors in this one better. I was liking the Spectrum palette for its intensity, but it was missing the yellows and oranges, which the Smashbox palette has. This palette appears to be the best of both worlds. If it tests decently … I think it’s a go!

Emilie Avatar

I hope the swatches/review is up for the Mi Vida Loca Remix soon! Can’t wait until this shows up in my Sephora store so I can go check it out myself, even though I’m pretty sure I’ll be picking it up. It’s the only holiday palette I’ve seen so far that really inspires me. 🙂

Stacy Avatar

Wow… all the colors in the eyeshadow palette against the black background are really beautiful to look at! I think I’d love a photo of it as art. But in reality, I know I’d never actually use at least a third of them (the reds, yellows, and oranges), so this wouldn’t be a good buy for me (that, and all the space it would eat up because of the layout would drive me *nuts* in actual use, I just know it)

Amanda Avatar

I feel like this a really great palette for the creative girl. It’s very much a true Ka Von D palette. I’ve heard this swatches pretty wonderfully but I can see why the average consumer might not be drawn to it at all.

One girl may see the endless possibilities and the other will look at this and think it’s more reminiscent of finger painting when you were 5. This is where a brand really can get it all wrong in the packaging. Being fun and having a creative presentation is one thing, but the consumer also has to “get it” and be able to see the possibilities of what this can do, and I think in this setting, a lot of people will think it’s too daunting and can’t rearrange the shades in their mind to come up with a look that doesn’t make you look like Bozo the Clown. You don’t have to wear everything at once. A couple neutrals + 1 or 2 adjacent colors would make a really pretty look!

I would personally reserve a few of these shades for an
