Formula Overview
$16.00 -
The formula is supposed to have "one swipe" color payoff that is "smooth and easy," while the wear is "long-lasting, waterproof and smudgeproof."
First and fore most, these were some of the longest-wearing eyeliners I've tried, and they were on the more challenging side to fully remove, so you may have to balance out those two depending on your actual needs (e.g. I tend to wear something that lasts long enough but is easy to remove since I am at home most days!). On me, most shades lasted 14 hours or longer with little thinning/fading but no smudging.
The pigmentation varied from shade to shade, though most were semi-opaque and buildable, so they were visibly on the more opaque side when used as eyeliner. The texture was smooth with just enough glide to apply comfortably without tugging on my skin. Some shades hare more noticeable shifts than others, but they were, generally, not as noticeably multichromatic as the best multichrome eyeshadows, for reference.

Note: There are no eyeliner dupes for these shades (at the time this post was originally published, at least) as they’re the first Multichrome eyeliner formula I’ve tried. There are a few indie brands that also have them, and the more “mainstream” brand that has some is Danessa Myricks, but I haven’t tried them!

These are interesting. I think my life has moved beyond being able to out them to good use, but I wish it hadn’t!
Three of these are now on my lengthy Kaleidos WL: Limelight, Night Of Creation and Solaris!
As I thought about that, it occurred to me that there’s a BUNCH of Kaleidos products that I would love to get before anything in the color cosmetics end of Big S!
I want them all. Every. Single. One.
Holy cheese whiz! I’ve never seen anything like this and definitely don’t *own* anything like this. I might just put these on my Christmas list (although I’m sure my lovely boyfriend would say that I have so much makeup already!). Maybe I’ll just save up and buy them myself.
I would definitely say that finding dupes for these kind of shades would be almost impossible, as the multichrome aspect would make it difficult to match up to a particular colour/shade. However, these all rated quite well and are pretty.
I’ve got these, except Solaris, on my Black Friday shopping list. I love multichromes and find myself reaching for multichrome eyeshadow over a traditional metallic or glittery shade.
I saw these on IG and purchased them when they were released, they are gorgeous love the look when wearing them. I totally recommend them way better than others that I have purchased.
I’ve got all of Danessa’s multichrome eyeliners – which by-and-large are pretty disappointing. These look to be much better – primarily because they seem to be pretty pigmented and appear more like a typical chrome should.
This is the kind of makeup I would have died to own as a teen in the late 90’s! I will be picking up several. 😀
I haven’t been paying any attention to makeup lately because it’s all started to look the same and I so rarely have an excuse to wear it these days anyway… but then I saw your post about these on IG and I’m excited about makeup again. Multichrome liners! Wow! Guess I need to find some excuses to wear makeup 😀
Oh lord it’s my two biggest weaknesses in one product: fun colored eyeliners and multichromes. It’ll be tough to decide which ones to buy and which ones I don’t need, but I AM going to get at least one!
These look amazing !! I definitely want to try this .
Hi Christine!
Would you, or anyone here that’s tried them, say these would make a good base for or “pump up” a similarly colored multichrome shadow worn over them?
I realize the color shifts could end up all over the place, though that sounds kind of fun, but that 14-hour wear time really catches my eye. I have a few Adept Cosmetics palettes that look like they would work really well with these, as well well as Sydney Grace and Natasha Denona.
I don’t know if they’d pump up one per se, since if it’s opaque then it’d just be something covered up. As far as wear time, I could see it making it better, but keep in mind that the Kaleidos eyeliners are quite small so it would be hard to cover a larger area!
I am surprised to read such enthusiastic reviews or expectations… They have :a terrible formula: I ordered, as soon as available, Night of creation and Sea Sparkle… The second at least gives light in the waterline, Purple is a disaster… You don’t even tell the shade from how lackluster or cronized it is. Difficult application on the bare eyelid and impossible above the powders. A disappointment on all fronts, no more risk.
