Illamasqua Fledgling Eyeshadow

Illamasqua Fledgling Eyeshadow ($20.00 for 0.07 oz.) is described as a “matte kelly green.” It’s a brightened medium grassy green with very subtle yellow undertones and a matte finish. MAC Fresh Flare is darker, cooler-toned. MAC Wondergrass is similar but a touch lighter, yellower, and shimmery. Inglot #384 is darker. Inglot #331 is even darker. Make Up For Ever #91 is just a little lighter and yellower.

Just released, Fledgling is another stellar matte shade to work with.  It’s intensely pigmented with opaque, smooth color payoff with very little product required.  The texture is soft, finely-milled, but not powdery.  If you aren’t a fan of some of the denser, more “buttery” matte shades because of the excess powder they kick up, you may find Illamasqua’s formula a happy medium between drier and softer mattes.  Fledgling wears extremely well with or without a primer; it lasted for eight hours without fading or creasing.

It looks like a gorgeous grassy green to me 🙂 oh I reread your review and saw the part that said “grassy green with very subtle yellow undertones”. I thought kelly greens were lighter and my eyes were going crazy. I really hope there’s an Illamasqua counter at my JCP Sephora (the only one near me); the list of products I want to try keeps growing.

@CaliRogue Probably there’ won’t be 🙁 Only a very few US Sephora stores (and only free-standing Sephoras) carry Illamasqua products in-store.  I know that NYC – Times Square and 5th Ave carry it, same with Seattle Downtown and at least one in LA, but those are the only ones.  There’s a list out there on the internet if you google it! 😀

I have an order out right now -.- it’s taking forever to arrive but I guess that’s to be expected, and I haven’t heard anything from their end, I think they don’t have much in the way of customer service.

Just be aware some shades that aren’t available in the states because some ingredient hasn’t gotten FDA approval, meaning the company *won’t* ship it here because it’s illegal.  Sigh.
