Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

My answer today is Maybelline’s Pink for Me. It is an extremely flattering MLBB shade for cool-toned fair skin. And it doesn’t settle into lip creases, and has a good balance between moisturizing and enduring. It also makes my lips look plumper.

Questions like this always put me in mind of the USSR in the 50’s and 60’s or what it must be like in North Korea! I can see “if you were on a desert island….” (though, of course, on a desert island, I’d also need to include a mirror…) but to think of a state where I only had access to one lipstick….basically a Lipstick Gulag! This falls totally into the “old person somewhat mindless rambling” category, but years ago, I watched a series called Tenko, about a group of women and children taken prisoner by the Japanese after the invasion of Singapore. They’re marched from location to location, camp to camp, and at the start, they all have suitcases and bags full of “necessities” – changes of clothes, fancy high heels, cosmetics, etc. – and as this brutal march continues, these “necessities” dwindle basically to what they are wearing and a few lightweight items (the doctor has her medical bag) and while it’s a tv series, it’s based heavily on the experiences of women who’d lived through these enforced marches and prison camp experiences. See, mindless rambling but I imagine most of the women divested themselves of their cosmetics fairly early on.

Besame Victory Red. It’s the only shade I wear anyhow, and has been for years! I have multiple backups of it for a reason.

Dior Lip Glow in Berry. It’s actually a balm but that makes it versatile for everything. Otherwise I’d choose something that’s a deep cool-toned berry or deep cool-toned burgundy in a classic cream finish (no mattes).
