Mary Kay CC cream.
Either MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation or Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation or It CC Cream?
Currently working my way through MAC Pro Longwear, which is decent. It is pretty sweatproof, as I found out Friday evening! But I am not a fan of how drying it was when I first started the bottle and realized it needed Strobe Cream to make it look more life like. So I am basically getting a different foundation once this is gone.
Either Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream or a concealer (IT Cosmetics’ or Maybelline Fit Me).
I’ll have to agree with Christine on this one!
A concealer—yet to find a favourite, but maybe I will start with Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Concealer Kit, which was the first concealer I liked.
Christine, do you like Rainforest of the Sea more than Guerlain’s Parure Gold? What’s the best aspect of it?
It matches me perfectly, lightweight, lasts all day, always looks great on my skin, and is actually available! I love Parure Gold, but it is more matte and fuller coverage, and for me, I always had to mix two shades to get a good match.
Iope Air Cushion foundation. Cushion foundation is the only kind of foundation I really like anymore as it’s easy to apply if you’re like me and basically just use foundation as spot/small area coverage rather than applying foundation to you entire face and you prefer light coverage.
Probably a concealer first actually, not a foundation. Either the NARS one or the UD one. If I had to go for a full base product, probably the Dr. Jart BB Cream with SPF 45.
Oh no Christine! Now I need that foundation don’t I!? 😉 The first product I would buy will have to be By Terry’s Sheer Expert Foundation. Its all kind of perfect!
Yes, for me too. Love the by terry sheer expert!
The NYX HD Finishing Powder!
If you mean the grinding one, agree with you! Such a great product, underrated in the blogoscene imo.
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF30 for sure. Followed by MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder Loose.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer.
That Tarte foundation must be good for it to be the first product you’d buy, Christine. I really have to give it a try. For me, it would probably be IT Cosmetics CC Cream or Laura Mercier mineral powder foundation.
Maybe Clinique CC cream, I still don ´ t find my holy grail foundation for my dry redness skin ?
Mac Prolongwear Nourishing Waterproof foundation
Cera Ve cleanser
Maybelline Age Rewind Esraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer
My Clinique SuperBalanced Makeup has served me well, so I would buy it without any hesitation.
Same! It’s the only one I’ve found that doesn’t cause breakouts or eczema flare-ups. AND it’s not too yellow or pink.
I thought for sure it would be the guerlain lingerie de peau!
MAC Studio Fix Foundation!
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. Gotta kick those under-eye circles!
Dolce & Gabbana Lift foundation
Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation
I second that!
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24hr
MAC MSF Natural.
These ‘what first’ questions are good, thanks Nicole!
Hmm, I think it would have to be a compact powder foundation, if tis first purchase not immediately followed by the next (say, given budget constraints). So, Guerlain Parure Gold compact powder foundie.
If after the first purchase another one is possible, then the Bourjois cc cream and Guerlain Les Violettes loose powder.
I see both you and Christine like this:). Tell me ladies, what makes this powder a HG in your collections? Thanks!
MAC Pro Longwear. I’ve been using it for years and have tried others but always come back to this one.
Maybelline Fit Me Dewy + Smooth foundation
It Cosmetics CC Cream in Fair. This is the easiest of this question series so far!
Joe Fresh Illuminating concealer!
Josie Maran Matchmaker Powder Foundation
BareMinerals Original Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in Fair. It’s my best all-around foundation: The color matches, it stands up to my oily skin, it’s easy to vary the coverage, it doesn’t oxidize, and it doesn’t need a primer. Because it’s a loose mineral foundation, I can skip powder if I need to. I can pat it on over blemishes with my finger and use it for concealer.
I actually kind of did it right — when I started investing in foundation, my first serious purchase was Dermacolor Camoflauge Creme by Kryolan, along with their Dermacolor Fixing powders. Three years later, I’m still using Dermacolor (but I know my correct shade now, LOL!)
Bareminerals Original foundation!
Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide Foundation
The packaging could be better bc product tends to leak. But this is hands down the best I have found for my skin tone and skin type. I also need very little product.
Close second is Nars concealer!
Agreed, the best foundation ever. Nars all day luminous weightless foundation thereafter.
Tonymoly Luminous Goddess Angelic Glowring Cushion SPF 50+ – yes, that’s GlowRing. It is ideal for a pale-pink-person who wants sheer coverage and to have tone evened out. It uses mesh instead of a sponge so it doesn’t dry out, is so much faster than my previous sunscreen/foundation/powder, and gives me a beautiful natural radiance. Got it for Xmas in a bundle of K-beauty and instantly dropped my previous regime Guerlain and/or Dior.
Assuming we’re not talking skincare, it would be Cle de Peau luminous foundation in I10 without doubt.
By Terry Hydra Powder. I think it is the best makeup product on the market. Not best powder, best product period!
Definitely the concealer Sisley shade 2,
then probably the Cushion Cream LANEIGE
“Mr Radiant” – The amazing primer from Givenchy is my favorite face product to prime and corrects my skin with or without foundation. If I choose to apply foundation on top of it, it would be very little, because after using this primer not so much needed…
By using Mr Radiant primer my skin looks very beautiful and glowing like lit from within… It minimize the look of pores and smooth the skin amazingly… Radiant but not greasy and feels so good on the skin, Hydrates immediately and absorbs really fast.
I highly recommend this product to start your makeup routine with… It will keep the makeup fresh after application and the glowing effect is created immediately and for few hours…
Ooo…either Missha M Signature primer or Too Faced primed and poreless cream. Not a fan of foundation so I look for other ways to make my skin smooth or radiant, depending on my mood.
Mary Kay Time Wise Matte foundation
MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation. It’s absolutely gorgeous on my skin. It’s weightless, full coverage and it matches my skin tone perfectly. I love it.
Givenchy acti Mine wake-up Skin base colour number 4
It would have to be Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation in 00 Alabaster. I love that foundation and have done since it was released. ?
Guerlain’s Baby Glow or Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge. Both are good for my skin and even out my skin tone.
I would probably start with a foundation powder in a pressed form. I haven’t locked in a brand though.
Of the products I’ve used, I’d probably go with my most recent face purchase if I were starting all over again—the Tarte BB Tinted Treatment Primer (in Light). I’ve only used it once, but I love how lightweight and lasting it was that day.
It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination.
Probably Cle de Peau concealer or Trish CC cream.
Anything with sunscreen so I wouldn’t have all the fine lines & wrinkles!!!
It’d be a bit of a risk since I’ve never tried it before (but have always wanted to!), but I’d order a Meow Cosmetics loose mineral foundation. I’ve heard good things about them and even though I’m not into loose powders, if it would get along with my skin, then I’d definitely use that over what I already have.
probably the nyx dark circle concealer in light or ge it cosmetics bye bye under eye in neutral medium
A great, natural looking foundation that, hopefully, will last all day. Currently I am trying Covergirl Outlast 3 in 1 foundation. But I definitely want to try the Tarte Rainforest one when it arrives here.
How do you like that Outlast? I found it really greasy.
I have only used it for the past couple of days and so far, so good. I have fairly dry skin and I don’t find it greasy at all. Also, it is winter here and in summer it might be different. The issue for me is to find a foundation that has pink undertones. L’Oreal, Clinique and Estee Lauder all turn orangey-brown on me by the end of the day. I have been using Rimmel’s Match Perfection – in porcelain up until now – which is a great colour, but it doesn’t last all day.
I worked at Walgreens for almost 5 years and I noticed that Cover Girl always ran really pink. Good choice for you.
Definitely Urban Decay Deslick setting spray. I put it on a clean face and don’t have any zone breakthrough.
Shiseido Radiant Lifting Foundation
Chosungah 22 C & T Luminous and Light Foundation in Porcelain. Although just a touch too dark I add a drop of a white foundation mixer to lighten it but it is the perfect peachy undertone for my skin. This foundation comes in a container that houses two different compartments. One houses the foundation and the other houses the skin care benefits. You can twist the cap to add more of one or the other to custom blend how much you want of each. I love how it makes my 62 year old skin look.
I would immediately buy It Cosmetics CC Cream, Illumination Foundation. I would have said sunscreen first, but this product gives me SPF 50 that’s non irritating, unlike chemical sunscreens. The fact that this is a great foundation for me is just icing on the cake! One step and I’m done! Before this CC Cream I was trying to cover up the white cast from natural, mineral based sunscreens without good aesthetic results. I love this stuff!
I don’t need a concealer but I absolutely need primer. Smashbox smoothing primer, Urban Decay naked foundation and Mac Studio fix liquid.
NARS TM currently. It’s the only base that I own currently that doesn’t seem to break me out and provides adequate sun protection.
That’s a tough one, it would be either Bare minerals complexion rescue or Jane Iredales bb cream. But if I had to choose one it would probably be the complexion rescue since it’s so fast to apply and I usually prefer light to medium coverage when it comes to base products.
Dermacol Makeup Cover. It’s a medium to full foundation and concealer in one, matches my skintone perfectly and is only around £5 on eBay. You also only need a tiny bit as it is chock full of pigments so it lasts a long time too! I feel with that foundation I have my foundation and concealer covered.
I’d probably go for a concealer first… Nars radiant creamy concealer in custard.
Garnier BB Cream, the original formula, in the medium/deep. This gives me all the color and coverage I need, and isn’t too light or too yellow or too pink like so many others. Not greasy or drying, just better skin.
Wait, I forgot Miracle Blur (L’Oreal). Can I have two?
Nars Creamy Concealer in Chantilly!
It would be a tough decision between Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer and Lancome Teint Idole Foundation!
Mac pro longwear concealer
Bare Minerals original foundation in Golden Tan, ColourPop brows in Taupe, Maybelline 24 hr colour tattoo in Tough as Taupe, for sure! Still looking for my HG lipstick etc., and blush tho.
