Shimmer forever. I appreciate matte eyeshadows, and I definitely find they are necessary for most looks (at least, in an ideal world), but shimmers always bring me so much joy. I love how they move, shift, twinkle… so much variety in finish, color, and reflection as a result.

I find mattes very useful but I loathe an all matte look. I’d stick with shimmer if I could only have one for the rest of my life. They just add interest to the eye!
Definitely shimmer! I rarely ever wear all mattes. Typically just one to use to blend out the edges but I would sacrifice that to have a full shimmer look.
Team shimmer forever! If all of my matte eye shadows turned into shimmery versions of themselves overnight, I would react like a little kid on Christmas morning, haha. All-shimmer looks happen pretty frequently on my eyes even without some sort of mischievous goblin forcing me to avoid mattes.
Shimmer, because I could cheat and use my bronzers for a matte crease. 😉

Shimmers. They’re prettier and more interesting. I’m middle aged, and sooner or later all matte looks probably won’t look great on me.

As a very hooded eyed gal, I literally need matte eyeshadow to fake a crease and get some dimension to eye shape, but I love shimmery metallic eyeshadow on my mobile lid area swept upwards as far as would still look okay on me. For me personally, this is not a question I can fairly answer. 🤷🏻♀️
I would say shimmers but only those that are flattering for my mature eyes- I really love Charlotte tilbury ones and the ones in the new Patrick ta palette.
Shimmer – I only wear shimmer eyeshadows (or satins) and only on half a dozen occasions have I used a matte shade, just to try them out. I prefer my shimmers to be soft and not glittery though.

Shimmer! I’m a big fan of one shadow looks for work and I do not like how matte shadow looks on my lids. Shimmer is much more flattering and interesting.

I can’t make my baggy hoods look better however much I try, and try I do, so I’d stick to shimmers on the mobile lid and be done with the whole look.
I keep reading that in my age I should use matte shadows, personally I find that ages my eyes whereas shimmers light my eyes up a bit and makes them more visible.
