If you could create any lip color, what would it be and what would you call it?

A pink-leaning coral with fine coral, gold, and copper pearl with a luminous sheen–not quite glossy but glossier than a satin. (A Guerlain Gems but perfected.) I’d call it Sundazzled! (That’s all I got right now… it’s early.)
Thanks to Rosemary for today’s question! Do you have a question idea? Submit yours here.
I would create a dupe for Kat Von D’s Bauhau5 liquid lipstick because that shade is always out of stock!
A MAC Heroine mixed with gold and purple shimmer
This sounds stunning, I would so jump on that too!! Closest I’ve come is MAC Violetta, but it doesnt have the gold..
Oooh, Violetta is really pretty! Hope MAC is reading this blog — if they issued a LE Heroine with gold and purple shimmer, I’d bet it would sell out in a nano-second, or have mercy on us and just make it permanent. Or maybe that BITE Lip Lab can come out with one–hey BITE, my birthday is in Sept LOL
That would be gorgeous!
A vivid grayish lavender liquid matte lipstick. I have never seen this color in this finish/texture.
http://search.aol.com/aol/search?enabled_terms=&s_it=client97_searchbox&q=gray+lavender+liquid+matte+lipstick Maybe you can find one here – scroll down : )
a deep gorgeous fuschia with silver shimmer, and it would be called Mustang Sally!
I think I have found the lipstick I’ve been looking for for EVER in Revlon’s Toas of New York. Only thing I would add is the slightes copper pearl in it! I would call it Gathering! Because it’s a color that reminds me of cozy times with loved ones and friends, not sure why or how! 😀
A bright, blue undertoned fuschia with violet shimmer and glossy as hell. Barbie amped up x10000, whee!
A gold based matte orange lipstick
A pink-leaning Peach with gold shimmer in it. I would call it “Origami”.
I love this and would buy it in a heartbeat! Love the name too!
No doubt it would be a dark matte red lipstick (straight up red, not leaning pink, or brown or orange, etc). I’d probably name it Godot, after my favourite play Waiting For Godot. Or, OR. A lipstick that’s a perfect balance between dark blue and purple, I’ve never seen something like that. I think I would call that one Midnight Madness, or something. Dang, I should start a makeupline y’all.
Somehow I messed up my answer but Waiting for Godot. Love Shakespeare. I saw Tom Hanks make his stage debut at the Great Lakes Theater in that play many years ago. He had been working backstage prior. Met him again looking for a home to buy. Truly gracious and well mannered.
Anyway, I would buy it based on the name alone.
Deep bold, bloody red, dark but not a trace of purple. It’d be red, not brown, not pink. Matte, but tiny specks of ruby red shimmer in it. That would be my perfect lipstick.
My perfect MLBB colour – a shade between Nars Isola Bella and Clinique Curviest Caramel, with the formula of a Givenchy Le Rouge. I seem to be out of name ideas right now. Sunset Rose? Sleeping Dragon? This is harder than I thought.
The perfect matte brownish pink; not too pink, not too brown or orange either! I’ve been having trouble finding one that goes with my pale skin. I’d call it Shae, after the Gamme of Thrones character.
An opaque tangerine gloss with blue and purple sparkles.
That would be stunning.
I like your idea, where can I buy it? I think I’d make a red violet based nude shade and I’m not sure what I’d call it.
That is a shade seriously lacking in the vast sea of lipstick!
if i were in the future i would create a lipstick that changes to any color you want.
… more realistic, a soft, not drying formula… a brown-ish nude with little gold shimmer and i would call it ‘sand’ or a purple based fuschia with blue undertones… and i would call it ‘chesire’
My HG shade is MAC Ever Hip so I’d love to take that to Bite Lab and dupe it some day.
For something more off the wall I want a deep teal with a demi-matte finish. Kind of the best of both blue and green there.
A deeper mauve brown with a hint of copper shimmer. I would call it Molt.
I would create a peachy caramel color with finely milled copper and gold specks. It would be moisturizing, no discernible scent and opaque, slightly metallic. I would call it “Queen’s Nectar”. The closest dupe I have are 2 discontinued MUFE lippies that I wear together in the summer.
It would be the color of blood, just before it begins to dry, with a creme finish. I’d call it Emma’s Rose (after my daughter, Emma Rose). I’d also like to build a line around it, with other products in the same color (ala NARS Orgasm), and all the proceeds would go to aid families of children with Autism, so they can be provided with services (legal, educational, etc…).
I love your idea for the makeup and the cause. My two sons have Asperger’s Disorder. I’d like to see the blood red lipstick, but I think the color would also be stunning in an eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara. (I love your daughter’s name, too. Beautiful.)
Amy, I am all for your idea here! My older child, now turning 29 in August, has Asperger’s, with his original Dx at 3 1/2 yrs. old being Autism. He is currently very high functioning, but it took a ton of my blood, sweat and tears to get him all the necessary services through the NJ public school system and outside sources. I fought like hell to make sure Kyle got what he needed to have the best possible chance. But, I would love to see this fight not having to be so profound for future parents of children on the spectrum. Btw, as a child, I too had a Dx on the spectrum. Now told I have it too, but a bit milder.
My daughter was diagnosed as “atypical autism” when she was 2, and she will be 9 in August. She started out in the Los Angeles public school system, and by the time she finished kindergarten, we were told *every* suppotive service would no longer be available to us, essentially due to cuts in the budget (although we were told otherwise). She even had speech therapy taken away. She has language, and is doing well academically (she even represented her school & grade in the district-wide Spelling Bee!), but she has difficulty with pragmatic language & social language. We just happened to move to a different, smaller school district right before she started 1st grade, where she was reevaluated, and was given speech therapy *twice* a week. We’ve been fortunate in many ways, and she’s been given opportunities to really grow, but we had to fight for a lot, and the resources are sooo limited…
Emma just completed 3rd grade, and is fully integrated into a general education classroom, but the struggles continue. Fortunately, we’ve had the knowledge & drive to fight to find the resources/advocates to be part of her team. I’ve met so many families over the years, from every walk of life, who just get lost trying to navigate the system (which I think is often intentended to be difficult)
and I make it a point to help everyone I meet who seems new/lost, and share all of my previous experiences & resources. I’ve learned a lot from others, and always make sure to pay it forward.
A rose-taupey creamy lipstick with gold shimmer! I bought the Body Shop’s antique rose lipstick from their discontinued line and I’ve been a bit sad i haven’t seen the colour anywhere else 🙁 but something leaning more taupe or greigey would be absolutely lovely. I think I’d probably name it Mucha or Art Nouveau.
I’d buy this!
A matte dark green lipstick(preferably liquid). All of the dark green lipsticks I have seen are shimmery.
A reincarnation of an old discontinued Nars lip lacquer that was called Butterfield 8. It was my perfect MLBB shade, a medium beige with a hint of pink (but it was horribly sticky like all the brand’s lip lacquers). I would make it in a satin liquid lipstick formula, kind of like Too Faced Melted, and call it Perfectly Polished. Or I’d probably find a better name if I spent time thinking about it!
A very pale but bright beige color with a lip balm like finish. I know it sounds quite boring, but I always want an almost-not-there lip color!!
Something like UD’s Revolution Lipstick in Crush with multi-colored microglitter. I’d call it “In Your Face.”
Oh, Christine, your creation DOES sound like the most perfect lipstick ever!!! Those gold glimmered pinky-corals are so flattering and glam! I would so gladly buy your version!
My creation would be a dark, rich plummy red with rose-gold and plummy-copper micro-shimmer in it, but not frosty though, in a hydrating, rich creme formula that would last 4-6 hrs. I’d name it “Bella Diva”.
Something coral for sure 🙂 And I’d name it… Coral All The Things!
Love your idea, Christine!
I love heavily frosted lipcolors, especially with goldtone shimmer, in red-oranges, mochas, peach, pink.
A creamy sheer liquid lipstick in a dusty rose shade. It would have irredecent sparkles in it. The sparkles would be soft pink, and gold. I’d call it “After Dusk”
First would be a pinky brown lipstick with a cream finish and I’d call it “LA in 2001”, for nostalgic reasons. Second would be a raspberry pink with really vibrant gold glitter with a glossy finish and I’d name it “Dazzleberry”.
A color between Lorac Secret Agent and Mac Whirl. I’ll call it About Time. LOL…
Doppler Effect — A darker, more glossy, version of Kt Von D’s Wonderchilde with a that same blue duochrome shift. The formula would be better too.
I’d want to make a medium-darkish, very grey-toned purple. Kinda like Illamasqua Kontrol, except more grey, slightly lighter, and without the blue tones. I’d want it to be a tube lipstick with a pointed bullet shape like MAC or similar lipsticks, and similar to MAC’s matte finish (applies smooth, dries down after a while and lasts several hours). Not sure what I’d name it, though. Maybe “No Name” or “Already Dead,” which are some Kittie songs I like.
What a fun question! I’d probably say a soft, mid-to-light tone, neutral pink, that doesn’t pull brown or red or peach or mauve, just a true romantic soft pink. I’d make it a creamy/comfortable matte formula. I’d probably call it Coryphée, which is a ranking within ballet companies above a corps de ballet member but below a soloist as well as being a really pretty word.
A metallic sky blue in a traditional lipstick! I’m not very clever at names, so for now I give it the tentative name of “Heaven”.
Ooh that would be so gorgeous!
A medium, warm coral/pink with iridescent and teal microshimmer. As for the name, I’m not sure. Something island or beach themed!
There are some.
The perfect greige.
A range of satin shimmer matte colors without any shine that is too tacky and too glittery for my taste (for example a slightly muted purple leaning fuchsia pink would be pretty)
Hard questions. I would like a semi transparent raspberry or cherry color with a bit of sparkle that would last. Naming I would leave to more creative ppl.
Years ago Chanel made a glossimer shade called “Black Tie”… A soft pinky nude. I’ve missed it ever since they discontinued it…and have been searching ever since. It was so versatile, it changed depending on whatever lip liner or stain you layered it with, and looked great on its own…
A red with ruby shimmer, like Chanel’s Rouge Allure Laque Dragon but in lipstick form! I own more than 20 red lipsticks, but none come close to that gorgeous blood red color.
Cadbury purple! Which I would call, Cadbury Purple. Lol.
Bah so fun!
A color similar to Chanel Ming (DC) but with liberal sparks of violet microshimmer. This would be opaque with a comfortable, non-sticky liquid formula. I’d call it… Haunted or Lenore or some other spooky goth name and it would have heafty, luxurious packaging.
