I think I’d have to do something off of dessert… I have a total weakness for dessert. Colors and textures inspired by various desserts, like jelly/mousse eyeshadows, sparkling (sprinkling) eyeshadows, glossy, juicy lips (like glazed fruit!), and so on. (Though I imagine people might want everything scented… I’d skip it myself – maybe go for more colorful packaging!)

I like the idea of spice or spice mixture names, but if the colors are related to the names, that limits the palette. If one really cared about having a range of colors, I feel like fruit makes the most sense. The other direction might be dishes from particular countries (in which case I would likely also choose desserts, since I don’t really want to wear something called “Swedish Meatballs” or “Paella”), and maybe the color would be something out of the flag, or colors those countries/areas are known for. Am I over-thinking this? I feel like I’m over-thinking this.
I once saw this discussed somewhere – maybe here – but when Too Faced kept doing the chocolate palettes I loved the idea of doing a Licorice palette. It would focus around both a black/gray and a red shade, of course. I would still buy that, although there have been a proliferation of red eyeshadows these days so it’s less needed. I really love my peanut butter and jelly palette l. The only wish I have is that it had featured more shades to represent the “jelly” side other than the grape purple which I hit pan on almost immediately. Jelly beans maybe? It seems like if it’s food, it has to be sweet.
A Jelly Belly collaboration would be ADORABLE.
Teas and tisanes! I know The Balm recently released a couple tea-themed palettes, but I think there’s a lot more that could be done with it.
Palette: Shades inspired by all the hues of tea leaves and liquor. Think a range of greens from earthy yellow-tinged to the vibrant green of matcha. Some warm reds and oranges inspired by certain black teas and rooibos (technically not a tea but sold as such so we’ll let it play along). Some nice browns, including a nice deep brown-black inspired by good aged pu’erh.
Lipsticks: A warm earthy orange for rooibos, a deep brown for pu’erh, an orange-red for black tea, a blue-red for hibiscus (again, technically a tisane, but we need a good red), and a matcha green.
Liners: A collection of browns and greens to compliment the palette.
For a spring release, my makeup brand would launch a limited edition “Bubble Tea” collection of eye palette, lipsticks, and nail polishes in fun pastel shades inspired by milk tea. Think purple for taro, pink for rose, a soft grey for sesame, a lighter green for matcha (tempered by the milk, it will be less bold than the matcha in our core collection).
I wouldn’t bc Too Faced has beaten this idea to death. So has Glamlite. I don’t want to give them any more ideas lol
Read this, and the very first thing that popped into my head was FRUIT SALAD! ? I’m serious! And I actually envisioned how it would look layed out and everything, too. So, of course, now I want that collection. MAC did a Fruity Juicy collection a few years ago, but what I’m seeing in my mind’s eye is something more colorful and with brilliantly foiled microglitter shades like real fruit juice in the sunlight!

A British Bake-off collection would be hilarious and have a lot of wiggle room for colors. You could do a vivid green Pistachio eyeshadow, a Pavlova cheek set—maybe in a cream or liquid formula to make it exciting—with a couple red fruit toned blushes and a clear or very sheer cream colored highlighter. You could do an array of rich brown eyeliners or lip colors for Chocolate Week. You could do loose pigments or liquid blushes in flavors people always overuse like Anise or Rosewater. Then of course you could do judge colors like Handshake or Scrummy lol

Most likely something fruit related. I use to eat a lot of fruit. Growing up in Southern CA there was always a great variety of fresh fruit. Here in Montana it is very seasonal and that coupled with my diabetes has meant I have to limit my fruit intake. Eating fruit is one of the things I miss the most since developing diabetes. So, if it was based off of fruits with fruit names, shades and maybe a little fruit taste, that might satisfy my craving, uh not likely! I know a lot of people don’t like any taste or scent associated with their makeup so likely my products wouldn’t sell very well.
Edible flowers could be interesting and yield some really pretty colors and unique shade names. Shimmery shades could be called “sugared.” There could be a line of tree blossom shades or herbal flower shades. I think there’s a lot that could be done.
A papaya , mango and Guava pallette would be beautiful and smell awesome !!!
I would probably do a “ Let them Eat Cake” Pallette just because of the shade range one could get with deep vampy Red Velvets, Warm gingery Carrot Cake, brighter Lemon Bundt, and Even lighter Angel Food, ,

I’m cheating because this isn’t food, but what about a cocktail-related line? There are a lot of different colors involved in various alcoholic beverages (Blue Hawaii, Pina Colada, Strawberry Daquiri, Grasshopper, Mai-Tai, Bourbon, Cabernet Sauvignon, etc.).
This is quite a unique question and I had to really think about it – but I would create an eyeshadow set based on herbal shades: mint, sage, rosemary and move onto spices – tumeric, cumin, paprika, pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, saffron, curry and olive leaves.
The lipsticks would be based on paprika, cinnamon and cumin shades.
I believe the best food is savory. Plus there are more options. A salad themed pallet could be pretty, greens and reds and purple maybe a single yellow and bit of brown like crouton. I also support the cocktail idea
Does wine count as food? I would pay good money for a wine palette!
