Iโd really dig the swirly shadows in a galaxy-themed palette. On the whole the packaging and layout makes me think bizarrely of internal organs. This palette is like the Miss Frizzle magic schoolbus tour of the inside of the human body. โSlipperyโ is the bloodstream lol. Too warm for me generally but I donโt dislike it either, actually. Passion is really pretty.
Lauren, that’s brilliant! I support this being rebranded in an organ/body theme for next Halloween. Side note: I’m still worked up over how boring “Slippery” swatches after looking so controversial!
“On the whole the packaging and layout makes me think bizarrely of internal organs.”
Now I can never unsee this. ๐
Lol!
I can get on board with this description ๐
lol i love the internal organs comment.
LOL!
You nailed it.
Or for the older crowd: The movie Fantastic Voyage…
LOVED that movie. Loved the remake/parody/tongue-in-cheek homage “Innerspace” even more, though. I laugh myself sick every time I catch that on cable. I’ll always choose a comedy over a sci-fi adventure…
Nice reference!
Where to begin. Overall, I do love the color theme. It’s a lovely, more rich toned neutral palette that I can see many getting gorgeous looks from. But, do I personally need it? Doubtful. I have her New Nude and Rich Nudes palettes, plus CT Bejeweled, and a plethora of other similar tones. The “bathroom” humor did make me let out a few giggles, I must admit!
With the exception of that petri dish growing yeast, fungus and bacteria, I like the looks of this palette. The marbled shades add a nice visual appeal. Overall, nothing too exciting when swatched and runs warmer than what I want right now. I just have so many shadows but I think if it reviews well, a lot of people are going to be interested. They look like they swatch okay overall so there is that.
the swatches look good. I don’t understand the point of “slippery”
Over the orange, red, cranberry eyeshadow looks.
Itโs pretty in the palette, but way too warm for me and I feel like Iโve seen those colors a million times before.
Also, for all the effort put into โSlippery,โ there isnโt much payout, is there?!
Slippery seems pretty pointless from the swatch and it looks gross in the pan :S
Agree, totally.
The swatches look pretty good, but I think this colour story has been done many, many times. I’m not seeing anything original here. Passion and Irresistible are lovely shades.
It reminds me so much of New Nudes which I already have and love. I don’t need this one.
I would take it if someone gave it to me.. do I want to buy it? Not right now. Iโve ordered some other shadows during this sale that Iโm not sure I needed but really have enough! Maybe later. I love the color story, but, like the other person commented, some of this does make me think of internal organs!! That slippery shade is really nothing but Vaseline from what I saw in a swatch.
oh ew, why would they make Slippery like that. that is cracking me up.
The palette is absolutely stunning in person and swatches like a dream. I have all of hers (Natasha, Pat McGrath, Nars etc) as well…and this is by far Huda’s best, and yes I did pay for it. Irresistible is GORGEOUS and Slippery is not a shade but rather a gloss to go over the others..and definitely maximizes the colors it goes over. Not a shade in here I don’t love.
Thank you for saying that about slippery! It really does have a pleasant purpose even though it looks a bit odd… I personally LOVE this palette & thankful that I took the plunge & purchased it!
I knew Slippery was gimmicky but I didn’t know how bad of a gimmick it would be ๐ฎ
The swatches look good. It was brilliant of them to put in Slippery for a glossy top coat I don’t recall anyone else that has done this. I can dupe most of these colors but it would be an interesting palette for someone who needs these in their collection.
I like all my Huda palettes a lot. This one looks like a cross between the New Nudes and Deep Nudes palettes. So I’m good.
I like the color scheme but Slippery looks like 2020 in a pan and I canโt get over that. Do those pans come out?
Ooops, now about the palette: lately I seem to be collecting shade EXACTLY like Slippery, meaning super-emollient cream/liquid/powder combos that can either be used to make a powder look slick/wet or (my way of using it) alone on the eye for a light-infused wet look. In other words, I don’t need it–far from it–but I’m intrigued. Given how many gimmicky things I’ve thought would be stupid that actually worked for me, I’m more likely, not less to buy this because of this reach. Also (and here I’ve moved completely into rationalization) I only own one Huda palette so far. I skipped Mercury Rising for multiple reasons and wound up duplicating the colors at additional expense.
Sort of like how I skipped Anastasia Carli Bybel because of too much glitter, and am still trying to capture the perfection (that I perceive online, anyway) of golden, sparkling Moo.
