How satisfied are you with this year's holiday releases?

I actually love that more brands have been leaning into bestseller sets and kits, where they are taking existing shades and offering them bundled (at a discount) or in mini size. I feel like this is actually appropriate for the holiday season, which often is a gift-giving season. It’s also a great way to stockup on favorites in skincare/haircare. I think that some brands that are still releasing their holiday palettes that their holiday releases run together, which may very well be the point, but it does get less interesting on a personal level after seeing it a few times.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Meh. Except for Dior, none felt holiday-ish enough. They all were too warm or earthy-muted. Holiday is about a cool, rich brightness. Sparkle. It’s supposed to feel refreshing. (And it’s the one season made for my undertones, so I get cranky when everyone decides to do “xmas in July” instead—grrrr!)

Maybe Dior’s was typical, but at least they hit the target. Since they’re a bit unpredictable about quality, I’ll wait for the swatches.

So, are there any more holiday releases yet to come or this pretty much it? So far these releases except for PML’s are kind of boring, no excitement for me this year.

I think this year’s offerings are better than in previous years and generally I have liked the quality too – especially CT’s. But I still haven’t seen one that I absolutely love. I did see By Terry’s Bonjour Paris – a new release of soft, rosy gold shades that I am partial to, but I am going to wait for some decent reviews to decide whether to purchase this or not. I have never purchased from this brand before and it is expensive. I also want to see some genuine swatches as well.

Unhappy. It seems to be the year of the pallette. Here a pallet there a pallet EVERYWHERE there are pallets! I’m not a fan. I would never use most of what’s in any. I like my individual, custom made shadows pallets. Also, I’m not getting the theme colors. Maybe I’m too old. Maybe I just want to open my handbag and see a solid, not cheesy Laura Mercier compact….not something with Disney all over it

I’m not sure whether they’ve just been released or if they’re new to the shops where I buy from… but the Carolina Herrera lipsticks I’ve been looking at lately have been making my heart skip a beat or two!.. A review would be greatly appreciated! 😊
As for the ones I’ve seen here, the only ones I can remember are the MAC “lollipops”, probably because they remind me of candy!
Jokes aside, the minis from Tom Ford sounded very tempting but they’re not available where I am. If they were, I’d probably be tempted to get my grubby fingers on them!

I feel like all the color stories are “glowy” aka muted. I hope this isn’t the projected trend. I still have to wear a mask at work and playing up my eyes is the only makeup I do these days.
