We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! I haven’t seen anthing super exciting to me recently. I only shop a couple of brands, so I watch for their releases. I am on a low/no-buy cycle right now and am trying.to shop my stash alot more, so, it will have to be an AMAZING new release for me to to buy. I do like to browse, though, even if I have no plans to purchase.

I haven’t heard about anything new that blows my mind lately. I did purchase the just released Rare Beauty eyebrow pencils and love them….they are really good. Hopefully this fall we will get some exciting new things….The new PML mothership palette was underwhelming for me….wasn’t even slightly tempted which was surprising to me, just seemed not different enough from all her others to warrent purchasing for that price point….Rare Beauty new liners are good too though……

Right now, a lot of my attention is being drawn toward asian beauty brands, and more specifically Chinese/Japanese beauty brands, and their unwavering creativity with packaging. Joocyee’s Neo Deco collection looks incredible, and Jill Stuart’s Birthday Bloom Lip Candys are one of the most beautiful bullet packages I’ve ever seen. In the indie/smaller scene, Shellwe has caught my eye.

Not to say that western brands aren’t also hitting it– that Lancôme Louvre collab that was just teased is drop-dead gorgeous. Chanel’s Byzance quads looks amazing too. I still want to pull the trigger on some more Give Me Glow shimmer pans someday. And get a few humble Dandy Lions shades.

Enthusiasm for multichromes, multichrome pencils, and other products from indies. It’s hard to find a l/s in a color I’d wear that I have no dupes, so zero expectations. And I have enough blush (do Nars blush palettes ring a warning bell?) to make all of Eastern Mass be rouged. For the mainstream, even Dior and Chanel aren’t impressing me. And we’re heading into holiday, with a lot of off-shore manufactured Too Faced and Tarte, etc., so emphatically no.

Somewhat still interested? Mainly for very unique (ND Yucca palette) or very flattering to my coloring. Or perhaps a new foundation release that is super inclusive in its range, long-wearing, medium to almost full coverage that doesn’t look cakey or thick and heavy, but still hides my melasma and other skin issues (I have a very ugly large spider telangiectasia on my chin, smaller ones next to my nose) and that it DOESN’T oxidize. I actively seek foundation reviews on YouTube and Makeup Alley!

Not very much at all. It’s a combination of a few factors, the 2 biggest being the fact that I have SO MUCH makeup already and the sad reality that so many companies (UD, MAC and so many others) have discontinued a whole bunch of my very favourite things AND they’ve reformulated so much of their new stuff and existing stuff into crap-dom! All this pursuit of “clean”, I guess, but as someone who’s used “unclean” makeup for decades, I’d rather have the old formulas that were really good (UD eyeshadows, Dior Rosy Glow Awakening blush, the old UDPP…I could go on and on).

This is a difficult question to answer as a lot of things are new to me since not having paid any attention to makeup for over two years. I was really looking forward to the new Pat McGrath Mothership palette but after seeing it, I wasn’t impressed. I did just purchase the two eye shadow palettes and one blush palette that were Bridgerton inspired. I am waiting to get them. I was mostly intrigued after seeing the eye look that was inspired by the character Penelope. The palette Belle of the Ball was used to create the eye look for Nicola Coughlan and was posted on PMGL IG and on her IG. It is a stunning look and made even prettier by her absolutely gorgeous skin and coloring. I am not expecting it to make me look like her but wouldn’t that be nice?!! I don’t know what to expect from them as they were rather an impulse buy. I don’t hate the PMGL eye shadow formula’s just the redundant color stories and the ever present gold!
I picked up a couple of items from Rare Beauty which launched before I “retired” from makeup but hadn’t tried anything except the mist. I got two of the lipsticks and one eye shadow palette and I am loving the quality of those so will be excited to see what else the brand does. I just saw a video using a KVD foundation that the influencer was raving about. I stopped buying KVD a long, long time ago and doubt I will try it but it did look interesting. I will look forward to seeing what other people are excited about.

I’ve picked up a few new products recently that I’m really enjoying, including the ColourPop highlights in Spotlight & Cold One and blushes from Patrick Ta (She’s Giving), Gucci (True Pink) and Armani (52 Ecstacy) but I can’t remember the last truly exciting release. I even skipped the Sydney Grace Christmas in July and Rephr BOGO 50% off sales for the first time in years bc none of the new SG products were unique to my collection and I already own Rephr’s entire line.

I am still very hopeful that a decent makeup brand will release something I love – it’s been awhile since I found something I truly love and will work for me.
I think the pandemic has had a major influence on the way brands work these days and there are so few releases of colourful makeup.
Hopefully your autumn releases will bring some life back into the makeup scene – as these are the ones I gravitate too.

Not very enthusiastic. I don’t wear makeup much in the summer, and It’s too early to think of fall still. Plus, I feel like we’re in between zeitgeists with no new thing that’s appealing. With what already exists, I have enough of rosy nudes, can’t wear anything too golden, and have too many wrinkles for all the glitter & multichrome things. I’d love multichromes, if there was such a thing as a wrinkle-filling eyeshadow base for dry skin. Alas, it doesn’t exist.

Not very to be honest.
I did however love what I saw after reading what Erica mentioned about Chanel Bysanz and Lancome Louvre.
I hardly ever buy anything Chanel as I think the products cost a lot for what one gets, but l really liked all four quads, though there were a bit too much gold in one of them.
I really wanted to press order on two of the quads, but quickly recollected back taxes, I have to have the car serviced, I installed a new home alarm system, and might also get the fee for the dog insurance later this month. So no new makeup during August!
In short, I’ve not seen much that’s made me enthusiastic, some multi chromes because they mostly look like art, some more unusual quads or palettes, they don’t even have to have colours I love for me, just some innovation, some things that aren’t pink and gold again and again. I honestly think pink (a colour I generally love when cooler toned) and gold killed my enthusiasm! 😀

Not very enthusiastic. I keep hearing that brands are launching “recession” collections/products. Although I am not gasping for air at the sight of these, it also seems pretty healthy for a change to focus on good basics that will stand time, and good formulas with skincare benefits. It feels good not to have a constant FOMO and the battle within, whether to jump on the latest release or not 😀 Usually the autumn collections are my favorites, but so far I haven’t seen anything I like, except for the 2 LE Suqqu autumn collection blushes: these seem beautiful neutrals so still very timeless. These aren’t available to me yet but I think I will make an exception in my no-buy for at least one, if ot both of these blushes.
