How do you organize your fragrances?

I have a subset that I’m working on wearing/rotating through that I keep on corner shelves in my bedroom closet! There’s no real organization within there, though I tend to keep similar-looking bottles near each other.

On my dresser is a tray with all of my Guerlains, Chanels, and Diors. Next to that is a tray with miscellaneous perfumes that I wear on at least a semi-regular basis.

Then I have a shelf for the fragrances that I’m not into at the moment or that I don’t wear but can’t bring myself to declutter. I also have a decorative cup for travel-size fragrances and a little box for my decants on that shelf.

I do the same! Great minds think alike, haha. There are little perfume niches all over our bedroom and closet… and all throughout the bathrooms, plus little hidden cabinets of home fragrance hither and yon. I can’t resist (I’m a formulator who’s launching an organic body care company) and can get a bit obsessive. I think your page was the only source of good info I could find when Tom Ford launched his Rose d’Amalfi, Rose de Chine, and Rose Russie last year and I was so grateful! Your page has helped me make countless decisions over the years and never, ever fails me. I read it daily. Thanks for all that you’ve done!

I don’t really have enough to think about how to organize them. I tend to be a creature of habit when it comes to scent and if they aren’t right out where I can see them, then I won’t go hunting for them. For that reason, they are on a shelf right above my vanity along with a small collection of antique perfume bottles. I only buy antique perfume bottles if they really appeal and fit my aesthetic. My ex-husband gave me a lot of them when he lived up here with me but they aren’t my favorites. My daughter and I use to laugh at how little he knew me considering we have known each other for over 40 years. Anyway, I mix my antique bottles with my perfumes so they are on display. I tend to wear what I want regardless of season so no need to put them away. I like floral, fruity and spicy scents and in particular, I love rose so most of my perfumes have rose in them. About as far out as I get is tobacco/fire type scents.

I have over 100 frags (full sizes collected since 2012 when I used to subscribe to My Perfume Samples and then -had- to have the full
size!). First day of the month, 5 frags are selected to be used one each day for that month. Typically themed by season. I put them on my bedside table, where I get dressed. I have a nice cabinet with a light and glass shelves for my perfumes that is kept away from direct light. My B&BW body creams are on the bottom shelf and I do rotate them, too (but they break down and have sadly tossed some recently). The frags are are arranged pretty much by color or style so I can find them! The thermal indie nail polishes are kept in there, too.
