How active are you in engaging with beauty brands online?

I like brands posts for the most part, since I know it helps with reaching people – so if I like a brand or a release, I will give it a like, but I don’t comment very often!

Comments that do not adhere to our comment policy may be removed. Discussion and debate are highly encouraged but we expect community members to participate respectfully. Please keep discussion on-topic, and if you have general feedback, a product review request, an off-topic question, or need technical support, please contact us!

Please help us streamline the comments' section and be more efficient: double-check the post above for more basic information like pricing, availability, and so on to make sure your question wasn't answered already. Comments alerting us to typos or small errors in the post are appreciated (!) but will typically be removed after errors are fixed (unless a response is needed).

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Liking is easy. Commenting is a lot more rare. The only times I leave comments on a brand’s Instagram is if I’m asking a question about product usage/safety, or if I’m raving about the product a lot. (To the point where I’d buy more colors if they were available.)

Not so much… and it’s usually just to give feedback or ask a question about products, I don’t interact with likes, answering to random daily questions / posts (like the ones with SPF for each zodiac sign, or lipstick color based on your name first letter).

If it’s Natasha Denona or Charlotte Tilbury I might because I find their launches very exciting, any other makeup brands, probably not; I’d just like the post and move on.

No, I don’t engage with brands online at all. And many don’t really give you the opportunity to be either. I often feel like asking brands why they don’t deliver their full range to Australia (eg Maybelline) and/or have a physical presence in our country.

Most of the groups with which I am involved do not comment on makeup and skin care. My hobby is a virtually solo one. My daughter and adult granddaughter enjoy makeup though. Most of my groups are politics and current affairs. I also belong to a few animal groups.
