The colors look a little dark to me, but I am SO into sparkle lately. I’ve always loved sparkle but lately it’s gone beyond love to fanaticism.
Wow! These look beautiful!

These all look pretty “dupe-able”, going by the photos (Clarins has some shimmery cream-to-powder shadows that look quite similar). The price on these is pretty steep and they’d probably be $40 or thereabouts here. Hourglass seems to be deliberately wanting to price themselves out of the reach of a lot of potential customers (taking a leaf from Tom Ford’s book, maybe?)

I hear you! The only reasoning I can think of is, maybe people who really like the brand? I have a few from other expensive brands. I think, for me the number one reason was being able to swatch and try them out in person. I have sensitive skin, I have had major irritation to the L’oreal and Maybelline ones I bought and tried.

Different formulations. For example, I can’t stand the Super Shock formulation in ColourPop. So even if the price is nice, I avoid something in a formulation I can’t stand.

That’s what makes makeup so fun. There’s so much variety! 🙂

I’m curious about how the formula of the glitter shadows will work out, but the colors are really boring me. If I’m going to spend that much for a single shadow it needs to be a gorgeous emerald or olive green! If they review well I might consider the gold on sale. Gold goes well with green.

No glitter! If they actually mean a homogeneous shimmer, then fine (though I still won’t buy it for that price).

Unbelievable what some companies are charging for products these days. Granted, there was investment in devising a formula, production, distribution, marketing, etc., but in the end, that’s about $0.11 in product and maybe $1.00 in packaging (maaaybe). Of course, it’s no better to buy a $40 lipsticks, and I’ve done that, so I guess I need to pipe down.

These are beautiful! I’ve never had a bad buy from Hourglass. Yes the price point is high but I’ve been having bad luck with cheaper brands these days – Colourpop Golden State of Mind palette was pretty but causes me major eye irritation — so I’m actually looking to spend on higher quality for a few basic everyday looks. I’ve also been looking for a good taupe ever since BE lost me as Drama pigment was a go-to for me.
