Holiday 2008 Collections Recap
When Bath & Body Works starts stocking their holiday gift sets, I know it’s time to work on my Christmas wish list, and start prodding others to give me some ideas of what they’d like to receive this season. I’m one of those early bird shoppers–I do not do December at the mall. The only reason you will see my butt at the mall after Thanksgiving (Black Friday is my official stop-going-to-the-mall-marker) is to swatch and review a MAC launch. But I go first thing in the AM, so I miss the crowds (especially since it’s usually a weekday!). SO, I can appreciate knowing and/or being able to purchase products available mid-October. Let me catch you up on all that is holiday in the beauty realm!

What collections caught your eye? Which have you bought from? Which are you saving up for?
I love Chanel, Dior, Givenchy, and Urban Decay’s so far–those are really theo nly ones I’ve played with. I might venture into Guerlain and NARS’ launches later on.
So far, I haevnt really bought any; they havent arrived yet at least when I checked the store two weeks ago…
but I think maybe the MAC has already arrived, I’ll have to check.
Due to the economy’s poor performance(I’m broke) I’ll just buy one or two from all those mentioned above. I really want the YSL bow lip duo. Another one is undecided between Dior or Chanel gold powder highlighter. (chanel is cheaper)
The Guerlain ones are beautiful and catch my eyes instantly, but I found that a lot guerlain products are not as practical to me. The givenchy eyshadows do NOT live up to the price tag and expectations – either too sheer or ok texture, I could use that money to buy better things.
Nice rundown of the holiday launches! Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂 Very helpful!
About Red She Said … Pomposity l/s and Dazzleglasses seems lovely – not sure about MEs trios!I love Nars eye stuff! Some Too Faced kits seems pretty too.And Bobb. shimmer brick etc seems lovely too!Lancome Juicy tubes kit seems pretty too!
NARS is pretty, but from what I’ve seen in the store, they didn’t swatch so lovely. But we’ll see!
Wow! Out of the 17 beauty lines’ x-mas collections, only 2 collections are of interest to me: Red She Said from MAC (which I am picking up tomorrow!!!:-) ) and NARS (especially super orgasm blush and nail polish and maybe jolie poupee e/s duo… or maybe more!
In a way, I’m glad cuz it’s going to save me $$$. I am patiently awaiting a phone call from my YSL sales rep @ Holt Renfrew to tell me that the long awaited e/s quint in blue (#5) is now available!!! Just that that’s going to cost me $80…
The NARS ORgasm polish is gorg, the Jolie Poupee shadow duo is delightful. You will like. 🙂
