I love MAC’s for getting everything off, but I can’t use them on my eyes! I like Yes To’s wipes for eyes.

I agree! I am not joking when I say I can’t wait to wipe my face off with one of these when I get home from work everyday. I feel like my face really benefits from using Neutrogena wipes.

i totally agree! Neutrogena has the best makeup remover wipes. It’s also quite easy to find them on sale which is a great steal for the product.

I totally agree that Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes are awesome! I used to dread having to remove my makeup until I discovered these. They remove everything with one wipe, and they leave my skin feelings great! I actually look forward to using these!

My pick is Neutrogena wipes as well. They are phenomenal…I purchase them wholesale at Costco and its SOOOO much cheaper that way.

I’ve only tried a couple (usually cheap drugstore brands) and they always irritated my skin, so I really wouldn’t know. Maybe I’ll be able to find ones that are good for super sensitive skin in the comments.

I like my homemade ones! Cheaper and way more effective. But for store bought I found the shopko store brand wipes work pretty good for me. Still need to use makeup remover for mascara but they remove everything else.

I just use coconut or grapeseed oil on a large cotton pad, or baby wascloth (these are cheap, super soft, and can be laundered, therefore reusable, and also provide mild exfoliation at the same time).

Like you, I have a real hard time justifying the horrendous waste involved in using wipes. And, even if they were more ecologically friendly, I find that wipes leave a residue on the skin which eventually leads to irritation. I’ll stick to my Tatcha cleansing oil and a washcloth.

I actually keep the wipes and toss them into my lingerie bag that I use to wash delicate stuff and wash and reuse them. They are much nicer than kleenex (don’t shred) for wiping off oily eye makeup remover or cleansing cream, etc. Some of them I keep separate and use them to polish the faucets and sinks in the bathrooms (again, softer than paper towels and they do a nice job and I can reuse them). But since I often use the premoistened cleansing cloths at the gym, it’s great to wash and re-use them and they really do last through many, many washings.

I too like the Kirkland brand. I I have Uber sensitive skin and they work well a few times per week. The remainder of the time I double cease with ano o followed by a a sensitive cleaner and a Clairisonic.

I tried Kirkland, I found the top wipes are dry and the bottom wipes were sopping wet. I normally love Kirkland’s brand, but I really dislike their makeup remover wipes.

I really like the Almay Oil-Free Makeup Remover wipes. They work really well and don’t break me out! I used to love the Neutrogena ones but I noticed that they would cause me to break out so I had to stop using them.

I do not care for makeup wipes in general. But on occasion, late late night, etc.. they do come in handy. I’ve had most success with drugstore cheapo wipes such as Neutrogena or Oil of Olay. I do have another non-intended use. Last year I started to get hot flashes and the flashes seem to originate from the back of my neck. I grab one of these to cool down the back of my neck and remove sweat. So gross. So now I’m here, middle aged, and whining about hot flashes .. sigh m(><)m

I really like the ones from Clean and Clear. I’m not exactly the Clean and Clear demographic but those wipes are good. I also like the “cheap and cheerful” ones from Kirkland – I use those all over after the gym or hot yoga, when I don’t have the time to shower before heading home or the showers are too packed (only 2 showers at my yoga studio). But reading the great comments about Neutrogena, maybe I should give those a try.

I’ve used alot of different makeup wipes in the past and including high end ones. Most wipes always dry out before I finish the pack (25). I have always come back to the CVS brand wipes (with the blue writing). They NEVER dry out and they actually get my makeup off!

Although I can’t buy them here because of my objections to their pricing scheme, I have tried MAC’s wipes, and I have to admit they’re pretty excellent 😉 I love the scent especially – it reminds me of some particularly special memories (unrelated to makeup wipes, LOL)!

Other than that little anecdote, I don’t use makeup wipes at all!

I also use Yes to Cucumber. Awesome for before/after the gym. I like that even if I sweat directly after, it doesn’t sting my eyes or anything.

Clean & Clear Night Relaxing All in One Cleansing Wipes. I saw a review of these on muse, she said they were similar to the MAC wipes. I absolutely love them, I’m on my second package, I can even use them on my eyes/waterline without any irritation!

Lisa Avatar

I’m pretty picky when it comes to makeup removing wipes. They have to be cruelty-free, nonirritating, and remove waterproof makeup. I haven’t tried too many since it only seems worth it when I’m traveling — I use a liquid remover on a regular basis. So far the only ones I’ve tried and liked have been the Tarte ones. I also love that they’re about half the size of regular wipes since I only use them on my eyes.

The Neutrogena Night Calming Wipes are AMAZING! I’ve always hated make up removing wipes because they didn’t really do a good job, but these do take all my make up off. I still use a cleansing oil most of the time because it’s faster, but when I run out of it, these are what I use.

I just used up a package of my Ole Henricksen wipes and opened a pack of Simple Makeup Remover wipes last night—the seem ok and didn’t irritate my eye area, so I’m gonna give them a try……

For travel or certain situations when a cloth isn’t available, I like Ponds wipes.

I haven’t honestly tried very many, as I find them very wasteful. I will use a cotton pad with makeup remover when feeling lazy but I feel bad doing that too. I even use a baby washcloth and warm water in a bowl when changing my kids’ diapers, unless they’re really messy. Then out come the wipes. (and we switch to cloth diapers as soon as the babies are big enough to fit them)

So far, I like Yes To’s wipes the best – either cucumber or blueberry. MAC’s work well for removing makeup, but I don’t like the scent and feel like they leave a residue on my skin. I tried some from Burt’s Bees and they were a fail, unfortunately.

I’m still trying to find a brand I like. I’ve tried Olay, Clean & Clear, and Cetaphil and all three have irritated my skin. I’m going to try the Yes To wipes because I need something super mild.
