Hit List: Best Fragrance for Summer

What’s the Best Fragrance for Summer that you’ve tried?

Share your pick!  And don’t forget to share why 🙂

I’ve been wearing Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino on and off lately, so that’s been my go-to, but other than that, I don’t know if I have a favorite right now!

I missed sharing why –
1)Gucci Flora Eau Fraiche EDT – This spicy, fruity, floral fragrance smells so fresh and sparkling clean…it gets me into the mood for a perfect summer day! The notes include citrus accords, kumquat, bergamot fruit, pink pepper, peony, rose sandalwood and pepper
2)Elie Saab Le Parfum Eau de Toilette – Love this fragrance because it makes me feel so calm, fresh and feminine. Key Notes along with orange blossom are mandarin tree blossom, gardenia, rose, honey and vetiver.
3)Arden Beauty Eau de Parfum by Elizabeth Arden – Love this fragrance because it reminds of me of beautiful things we see and experience everyday like greenery, flowers, nice breeze and the woods. It is very earthy. Top Notes comprise of Rice Flower, Green Accord and Italian Bergamont, Middle Notes have Blue Lotus Flower, Gingerlily, Rubrum Lily and Golden Sunset Orchid while Base Notes are composed of Indian Sandalwood, White Amber and Musk.

I’m in LOVE with CLEAN Skin as my everyday scent… it’s incredibly relaxing and comfortable, like a worn-in tshirt. Dolce from D&G is my “dressier” scent at the moment; white florals seem perfect for summer to me.

Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche is my preferred summer scent. I’ve been considering picking up Guerlain’s Herba Fresca recently. May cave in to that during the summer!

I’ve been wearing Nuxe Prodigieux le parfum (just the scent in the Nuxe body oil in perfume form) a lot lately. It’s a tropical white floral with coconut and musk. Very beachy. It’s definitely floral, but it’s not the kind of fragrance that I’d say floral haters should necessarily avoid (and by the same token, if you’re like me and ‘white floral’ is enough to make you start salivating I wouldn’t say this will necessarily excite those sensibilities as the white flowers are all sort of blended down into a general floral blur.) To me it smells very casual. The kind of thing that’s easy to wear with summer clothes and sunglasses.

I also love Frederic Malle’s Lys Mediterranee (unlike the first fragrance, I’d say people who don’t like florals probably wouldn’t enjoy this) and have for a few years now. A slightly spicy lily with a very ‘sun warmed’ feel. IMO this one is even more stunning in hot weather.

Creed Virgin Island Water. And while I don’t consider these to be fragrances, Bath Body Works fragrance mists are good, cheap fun on a hot day or before/after a workout

I’m loving Tocca Liliana, Hermès Un Jardin Sur le Nil, Jour d’Hermès, and Carven le Parfum. I’m a huge fan of citrusy florals (especially with some peachy notes, like Liliana), and I can’t resist the fresh green mango note of Un Jardin Sur le Nil.

I haven’t gotten the chance to try Guerlain Terracotta le Parfum or Guerlain Acqua Allegoria Limon Verde, but I have a feeling I’d like those, too.

I recently got the Carven le Parfum and I’m so in love with it! It’s the perfect scent for summer – sweet, fresh and clean. I’ll definitely try your other favorites since it seems like we have the same taste.

Versace Yellow Diamond–It’s an easy to wear floral with some citrus, I think. I also like Bath & Body Works Cool Citrus Basil. Both of these scents hold up well on me without being overpowering during the extreme heat and humidity we often have here in the Midwest.

Most recently, it’s See Eau Fraiche from Chloe. I’d love to love Fresh Hesperides but it doesn’t last at all. And an all-time fave of mine is Jessica McClintock. It smells of Lily of the Valley, which is my favourite flower and a scent I love.

Vero Profumo – Mito
Ormonde Jayne – Frangipani
Serge Lutens – Fleurs de Citronnier
Atelier Cologne – Orange Sanguine
Neela Vermiere – Bombay Bling

So hard to choose! #1: Nest Passiflora — screams summer. However, I have to mention Jo Malone’s Nectarine Blossom & Honey — so heavenly!

I like Chanel’s Cristalle, Serge Lutens Tuberose Criminelle and Fleurs D’ Oranger, and Estee Lauder Bronze Godess during the warmer months. I like citrus, mint and clean notes when it’s hot out. Also I like white flower scents in the heat.

I love Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino but it`s out of my reach and I also liked very much Tendre Poison but I think it was discontinued as I cannot find it anywhere. Does anybody know a fragrance that smells of neroli or bergamot? I would love to find something with any of those scents but I can also afford.

Amy Avatar

I am LOVING Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess!!!
I used to only use very fresh fruity scents but this one is different in a good way.
Its slightly warm, coconut-y but not too warm that you feel sick smelling the scent in the crazy summer heat.
Also, eventhough it has coconut in it, its definitely not a pina colada in a bottle which is a plus for me. Ironically, Im not a huge fan of pina coladas 🙂

I really want to try Bobbi Brown’s beach!

Honestly, I don’t have seasonal scents. I use scnets depending on what I wear! For example, my casual scents are Lolita Lempicka Forbidden Flower or VS Body spray, my girly scents are Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb or Prada Candy, and my sultry scent if Florabotinca by Balenciaga for that slinky dress in the back of my closet lol

I am currently enjoying Burberry Body, Versace Yellow Diamond and Ralph Lauren Midnight Romance.

I would to add a fragrance from Tom Ford’s line to my collection but have yet to find one that speaks to me.

Hmm…I have certain ones I love all the time (CK Euphoria, Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose, Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb) because of the way they react with my body chemistry (and make me feel). Ones that I love for summer in particular, though, are Clinique Happy & Mary Kay Journey. Both are very happy, sweet, summery fragrances. 🙂

A few months ago I discovered for the first time Jo Malones English pear and Freesia which I just adore. I have a couple of Chanel perfumes and a Vera Wang plus a Bulgari and a Kai perfume but I’ve never had so many compliments on one perfume as I have had with the Jo Malone.
