Hit List: Best Clear Lip Liner
What’s the Best Clear Lip Liner that you’ve tried?
Share your pick! And don’t forget to share why 🙂
I love Urban Decay’s Ozone! That’s the one I have the most experience I would say.
Thanks to Jenn for this week’s topic!
The only one I’ve used is No Bleeding Lips, but it works pretty well for my reds.
I have and love MUFE Lip Line Perfector, but it’s the only one I’ve ever tried..
I’ve actually never tried one! I read ELF has one, but I don’t think I’ve seen it in stores and I don’t want to buy it online since the shipping would be more expensive than the actual product.
I own elf’s Lip Lock pencil and it works perfectly, it just has to be smoothed out a little after being applied. It’s only, like, three bucks, though!
I’ve used a few over the years, with Revlon ColorStay & L’Oréal being the first that come to mind, and I find them all to be comparable. Unless one has obvious sensitivities/allergies to a certain brand, I don’t think lip liners are “splurge-worthy”, and I tend to stick to DS brands. I know I’ve tried at least one HE brand in the past, but I can’t recall which… Like I said, the Revlon & L’Oréal liners have worked well for me, and are an especially great deal if you catch a BOGO sale, and/or have a coupon.
Urban Decay’s Ozone, unfortunately, given the expense. 😛 I’ve tried several from different brands, and not only do I find it the most effective, but it’s also the one that blends out the nicest – no visible caking or waxiness around the edges of the mouth. It’s worth the ~$20 price tag for me.
I’ve never seen a huge difference in clear lip liners, I generally use an inexpensive one from the drug store, I thin I’m using a Maybelline one right now.
I just bought and am loving the new one from Milani. Very impressive after a week of use.
I just saw this yesterday at CVS and was wondering how it would compare to UD Ozone, for 1/3 the price. I’ll have to check it out!
There all about the same really. 😉 The No Bleeding Lips work well if you wan a precise line but I’ve loved my DuWop reverse lipliner for years. I use it for both revers lining as as a general lip liner to prime my lips the same way you use a colour pencil.
Ozone counts as a lip liner even though it is supposed to just go around the edge of your lips? Either way, I love it.
Isn’t that the definition of a lip liner, something that goes around your lips?
I guess? I always thought of lip liner as something you use on the edge of your lips or to color in your entire lip but at least for Urban Decay their clear liner is applied outside your lip.
I’m usually too lazy for lipliner, but the Dior one is excellent, and comes with a really decent lip brush on the other end.
I know Urban Decay has one though (Ozone, as Christine mentioned above), and I’ve seen one at the Art Deco stand, so there are definitely less wallet-alarming options out there!
This isn’t exactly a lip liner, but MAC’s Prep + Prime Lip is amazing. I’ve been using it for quite a few years now and it really does keep my lipstick on and stop it from bleeding, no matter what shade.
I’ve never tried one, but I’ve been planning on finally getting one, so I’m gonna subscribe to this topic and see what everyone says! 🙂
I prefer MUFE Lip Line Perfector over the old Urban Decay Ozone, but I haven’t tried the new, revamped Urban Decay Ozone though (I just purchase it during this sale, it should arrive in few more days).
I only ever tried elf’s clear lip liner and i love it! 3 bucks too
I usually swear by UD but for clear my Maybelline works just as well.
I have the one by Lipstick Queen, it does what it’s supposed to do so *shrug* , it’s fine. It’s the only one I’ve ever used.
definitely the Elf one! It works better than the DuWop reverse liner that I have as well as the MUFE. It is only three bucks and keeps my red lips in check all day long. It is amazing. I highly recommend it. I was lucky enough to find it at Target so I did not have to pay shipping 🙂 Best $3 I ever spent!
I have a clear lip liner from Bite Beauty – the Line & Define Lip Primer. The reasons that I really love it are: 1. It prevents my red lipstick (Nars – Fire Down Below and Kat Von D – Adora Foiled Love) from bleeding and feathering. 2. It moisturizes my lips and smooths them out.
I have never tried a clear lip liner. I have always wondered if they really do anything. But I have been eyeing ozone.
It is great if your lipstick feathers. I only have one color that feathers occasionally but ozone stops it from feathering.
They work as well as coloured lip liners but have the advantage of not leaving that bizarre dark, empty lip line if your lipstick wears off and you don’t have time to reapply right away. Plus, you don’t really need an assortment of shades.
Hands down, it’s Lise Watier Virtual Lip Liner. I’ve bought No Bleeding Lips and it isn’t nearly as good as the one from Lise Watier.
I have the Mary kay clear lip liner. I love it but havent tried anything else
I’ve never tried a clear lipliner. I always go colored.
UD’s Ozone, although it’s the only one I have. Still good though!
I’ve never hear of such a thing lol wow
Lots to learn!
I have Diors but I can’t really say I like the concept.
I like Ozone, but it was the only one I knew about before I purchased it. (Well, I looked around in stores and a few places online for a DS one, couldn’t find one, so I sprung for the one by my favorite brand.) I don’t use lip liner very often, so I don’t see myself using it up for a long time.
It’s too bad I couldn’t foresee that, about six months later, Milani would come out with one. I’m betting it’ll work just as well, given that their Liquid Eye (Liquif’eye) liners in similar tubes work just as well as UD’s.
This is going to sound totally stupid, but i’ve never even heard of clear lip liner until now. Whats so different about clear lip liner, as opposed to a nude or a lipliner of you skin tone?
Clear is just… invisible, so it’ll work with anything and not alter the color of your lipstick, gloss, etc. It can also be used outside the natural lip line just to prevent feathering beyond (rather than on the actual lips)!
I’d never heard of it either but it sound like it would be good to prevent bleeding and not affecting the colour of your lipstick.
