Hit List: Best Brand for Warm-Toned Colors
What’s the Best Brand for Warm-Toned Colors that you’ve tried?
Share your pick! And don’t forget to share why 🙂
Urban Decay always seems to put out really warm-toned colors to me!
Thanks to Carrie for today’s topic!
Bare Escentuals. I think very nearly all their colors run warm.
Definitely Urban Decay! Most of their products are way too warm fom me 🙁
Rouge Bunny Rouge. I actually wish that they did more cool-toned colours because their quality is so good and their shades are such staples, but they really do have a lock on warm-toned neutrals for eyes, cheeks and lips.
Maybe Nars? They tend to have lots of products with yellow undertones that I find easy to wear, and they seem to do well for darker skintones as well. On another note, I find Bobbi Brown maybe the worst for this.
It really seems a lot brands have been running warmer toned lately, but I couldn’t say which is the best. I wear warm and cool tones pretty equally. I pay more attention to individual items or palettes than brands.
Maybe Urban Decay or MAC? (*shrugs*)
Cool tones I’d say Tarte in a heartbeat.
Urban Decay for sure. Tarte and Too Faced seem too as well. I tend to stick to NARS and Chanel because they have a better mix of shades and even their warm shades tend to be more wearable on cool toned people than other brands.
charlotte tilbury. illamasqua
Cynical shrug answer: all of them? 😛
OK, OK, I kid. 😉 Makeup Geek has a lot of nice warm shades from what I’ve seen? If we’re talking a brand that does *really* warm colours well, then I’m not sure I know, as I tend to gravitate away from those shades >_<, especially in eyeshadow.
I think most of brands put out a lot of warm toned palettes – I know because I can’t really wear most of them.
It seems like there are SO many warm-toned products out there; what I’d like to see is the Hit List for the best cool products! 🙂
Amen
Been seeing so many warm-toned colors and palettes lately (Too Faced Semi-Sweet, Sephora Pantone’s Marsala Palette and Lorac Gold Palette immediately come to mind) that I feel like every brand is good for warm tones right now! I once had the chance to speak with one of the Bobbi Brown national MUA’s and she said that the Bobbi Brown philosophy is that everyone has a lot of yellow in their skin tone. As someone who is very cool-toned, it explains why I always seem to have “bad luck” at that counter, especially with their foundations.
Urban decay surely has some great warm toned palettes in their collection.. 🙂
Hourglass for sure! I can wear most Hourglass products without looking weird (I’m warm-toned).
I really have a problem trying to find cool-toned products. I think all brands lean on the warm toned colours, I can find a tone of brown-orange-brick toned make up. So I think most of the brands have a lot of products for warm-toned women. Even MAC that has a big range, has like 60 warm toned blushes and maybe 10 cool toned or neutral.
Any good suggestions for cool-toned? (Besides MAC)
I’m someone who’s always searching for cooler-toned makeup — to me it seems like *most* brands concentrate on warmer tones! It can be really tough to find cool or truly neutral off-white/beige/brown/taupe eyeshadows, especially mattes, and cool-toned blushes that aren’t Barbie- or bubblegum pink. Best brands for doing a wide variety of warm AND cool tones seem like Make Up For Ever, Inglot, NARS, Sephora Collection, and maybe NYX. Too Faced has a pretty decent variety with at least has some eyeshadow palettes that lean cooler.
I agree, Urban Decay has great warm shades.
Definetely Anastasia..
I would say MAC, Coastal Scents, and Makeup Geek
I definitely agree with what you said; Urban Decay. I’d have to say that MAC is right up there with great warm shades as well.
MAC and Inglot are the most accurate for me. I have a hard time because some foundations from other brands that claim to be “warm” are still too beige for me. Mally Beauty seems to understand warm tones in foundation, but all the rest of the line tends to run “pink”, so it’s not a brand that works for me. Urban Decay does well, and Make Up For Ever in the newer formulas (they used to be pink-crazy). Ben Nye Banana powder has always helped me when foundations were “off”. Kevyn Aucoin has some nice warm shades we well.
