Have you purchased a beauty advent calendar?
I don’t think I have, though I have received them as a press sample in the past. I think they can be fun, especially for someone who enjoys that brand’s products or maybe always wanted to fully try out a brand’s line.
No, I just don’t like the waste associated with them, from the packaging, to the fact that not all items in them interest me or are of use to me.
I was tempted this year to get the FRVR Mood 12 candle set, but then I realized how ridiculously small the candles are. They are smaller than the mini size and not even those had a decent throw.
I have done the cheaper ones like NYX and never really enjoyed them. The only advent calendar I ever truly liked was a perfume one from Atelier Cologne, which Sephora seems to be phasing out. In that case, the packaging was special and I enjoyed opening one window per day, although I only liked about half of the scents. Never bothered doing it again though, since I felt like the cost didn’t justify the outcome.
No, never. They don’t interest me.
Nope! Never have and likely never will. For one thing, I know that I would open up every single “door” as soon as it arrived, LOL!
I have tried to get one with Korean beauty items, but could not get it (they have been sold out in less than 5 seconds, literally)
I let the one from Linda hallberg vanish out of stock, hesitating, I regret it now.
In the end, I am building a cheap one from elf, essence and drugstore 🤷🏼♀️
Haven’t bought make up in a while (I shop my stash!) but that Chanel quad spoke to me.
When I saw you review I pulled the trigger – thank you Christine for being always so reliable and honest. I may spend less money on make up now but I never buy something without your trusted review. Please know that your work is deeply appreciated.
No but maybe one day. To be honest I don’t really like miniature makeup. I tend not to use them. Except for trial sized skin care I will use to see if I like the product. But little makeup goes bad or gets lost lol. And a lot of these Advent calendars are expensive! The YSL one looked good and has full sized stuff.
I did purchase the L’Occitane advent calendar some years ago and it was lovely, but I haven’t purchased any since. I do think about the wasteful packaging and that some of the items are really not for me – eg lipsticks/lip glosses, nail polish etc.
Some of the ones I really love – like Charlotte Tilbury or a perfume one are just so expensive though.
No, as I usually find the product sizes too small to really enjoy, but why not as a gift for a teen starting out or even a friend who you know like a particular brand, especially if you find one with large sample sizes or, better yet, full-size items.
Yes! This year I bought Manny Mua’s new Lunar Beauty palette that comes as an advent calendar with one new shade each day. I think it’s a very creative idea and can’t wait to open it!
That one is a cute idea. If were to get an advent calendar, it would be something like this.
Two years ago my lovely boyfriend bought me a NYX lipstick one. It had a ton of different finishes and colors and I still use them. Also they’re minis, which is nice because I never finish anything full-sized and they don’t take up as much room in my lipstick drawer. I wish some of the duo/multichrome eyeshadow brands (Clionad, Terra Moons, etc.) would make ones. I would definitely buy!
I’ve never bought one for myself but I did buy the L’Occitane one for my Mother four years ago, she absolutely loved it and I knew she would use every one. Otherwise I find that they are very overpriced and I would just like a regular sized product if I’m going to be spendy.
