Have you given any beauty gifts this holiday season?

Have you given any beauty gifts this holiday season? Share what you’ve given to others! 🙂

Not quite for the holidays, but my friend’s birthday is in December, so I’ve been collecting pieces from each Chanel collection over the year, because she’s a big fan of Chanel and I know she’s been trying to cut back on her beauty expenses! I’m also giving Chanel Dragon Rouge Allure Laque to a few friends, and I sent a bundle o’ Lush to a very lovely friend!

As a beauty freak, I love giving and receiving beauty gifts. I think they’re the easiest type of gift to give since so many brands put out some great holiday stuff. Unfortunately, no one I know is as appreciative of beauty stuff as I am, so I never end up giving many beauty gifts. I think my sisters have appreciated beauty gifts in the past, but they rather get something else. And it’s funny that I don’t receive many beauty gifts either because every one thinks I already have a lot of beauty stuff so they don’t get them for me. Beauty junkies can never have too many beauty gifts!

This is spot on my Situation Tina!!!
But I’m quite picky so I rather gift vouchers!!!
I wrote a wish list on my iPhone and told my niece to tell my bf!!

yes! yes! yes!

a lot of my friends are about to receiving beauty gifts
one of them – a newly wed- is going to get ALOT of makeup.
to start her new life she needs to be beauty educated
so i got her an eyeshadow palette (UD naked) + bobbi brown 20th ann. lip palette
a few Revlon lippis + a custom made palette containing yaby + makeup atlier eyeshadows, yaby+mac blushers and yaby pan lipsticks

another one is going to get illamasqua’s midnight pout beauty gift with red lipstick and a gloss. She never wore a red lipstick in her life so i thought it would be a great opportunity to experiment ,,

I always get my mum something beauty-related, skin care or bath type things. This year I got her a Set of Fresh products from Sephora. Strangely, I can’t even remember the last time I got a beauty-related gift myself, other than perfume. I guess people don’t want to take the chance that it’s something I already have!

Two friends actually got fairly decent-sized cosmetic gifts from me. Friend 1 hasn’t worn makeup in years after working with kids and wanted to kick start, so I used her December birthday as an excuse to double-up her gift into a higher end makeup “starter kit” (Urban Decay palette, Milani lip pencil, Sephora lipstick). Friend 2 is an eyeshadow junkie, and a huge fan of the purples, so I knew right off the bat that the Bare Escentuals Dream Sequence quad was perfect for her.

My sister got a few things from me, too, but they weren’t so much major gifts so much as, “Oh, she loves this stuff!” kind of grab and go stocking stuffers.

I love giving beauty gifts to my little teenaged friends who can’t afford it. I have a couple of lovely care packages for two of them. It’s my way of filling the need to pamper a girl since my child is a boy. 🙂

None of my friends or family wear makeup, except one. I didn’t get her makeup this year though…I did for her birthday though!! I used to get my Mom her HG lipstick every year(she could never find it), but I can no longer find it anywhere unfortunately! Aside from immediate family, friends and family in my circle generally do not exchange gifts.

My mom! She LOVES makeup! i got her lots of makeup for xmas: mac studio fix powder, mascara, 2 lipsticks, blush, highlighter, and much more. She opened her presents early and went crazy putting everything on LOL!!! It was really funny and cute to watch 🙂

My Mom’s going to get a Benefit set that includes Bella Bamba, as she wears blush pretty religiously, but never splurges on makeup. I got my sister UD’s Rollergirl palette for her birthday last month. Only problem is that it’s too nice for her to want to wear all the time!

I have some random pocketbacs that I’ve been tossing in gifts, and a couple cheapie glosses to stick in gift bags I’m taking to work.

I give beauty presents basically every Christmas and for birthdays of my family and close friends. I usually buy extras of products that I absolutely love so I can give them as gifts throughout the year. For example this year I bought multiples of the CG Halloween and Holiday collections so I can gift those!

I gave Dior Dentelle eyeshadow palette from spring 2010 collection to a good friend. I bought an extra when it came out. Yes, she is a very good and dear friend to deserve me parting with my backup of the Dior eyeshadow palette.

Then I gave a Stila Marrakesh eyeshadow palette to another friend.

Lets see : I gave myself a betseyville makeup bag and Im giving my little cousins ELF palettes for Christmas. They are just starting out wearing makeup , and I know they will like this gift

UD’s Naked Palette (the original one) for my daughter; a body scrub for one friend and a Body Shop body wash and body butter for another and I got a lot of Avon lip balms, mini hand creams and Body Shop hand sanitizers for stocking stuffers for the kids. And I picked up Chanel’s Illusion d’ombre cream eyeshadow in Illusoire for my stocking (DH never knows what to put in my stocking and since all the stocking stuffers are left to me to purchase, this seemed ideal).

Not for friends, they don’t care about make up at all!
But I’ve bought Jo Malone Lime, Basil and Mandarin for my mum, she loves it so I know it will be a winner.

Not yet, no! But one of my best friends’ birthday is at the end of November (though she didn’t throw her party till almost mid-December), and I got her some Yves Rocher shower gel/hand soap/lip balm. She has very sensitive skin, so I was aiming at making her try a brand that is less “artificial” and irritating. Of course it could be sheer marketing strategy though! But really, almost none of my friends uses any special skincare/makeup products, so I wouldn’t even know who to give those to even if I want to (see, that’s why I visit this site all the time and blog a little myself. Otherwise I am very lonely in my pursuit of makeup kicks)!

I’m giving my mom a bottle of D&G 3 L’Imperatrice, and my sister is getting a MAC brush (along with art supplies) that she has been wanting to try.
Sadly, no one wants to give me beauty products, although last Christmas, my dad gave me a gift card to Sephora.
Oh, well. I gifted myself with 21 eyeshadows and 2 blushes from the Inglot sale earlier, so I’m still kinda over the moon 😀

btw, the Inglot blushes (i have the liquid in 87 and the cream in 90) are pretty damn awesome

I’m actually going to a gift exchange/secret santa with a few friends tonight and in my bag I have a few sample Lancome/Estee Lauder/Clinique things 🙂

Angie Avatar

I got two of my friends the Anastasia All Eye Want palette and my other friend the theBalm’s Nude’Tude palette. And my nephew’s kindergarten teacher received a Bath & Body Works lotion/body wash set from me.

Kimberly Avatar

Yes! My friends birthday is Christmas Eve, so for her birthday/Christmas present I got her the Tarte for True Blood palette. We’re both major fans of the show and when the Tarte collection came out she talked about buying the palette, but it was just out of her budget. 🙂 She was incredible surprised and absolutely loves it!
