Have you ever tried nail art?

Have you ever tried nail art? Easier or harder than you expect?

I haven’t. I don’t think I have the patience for it. I don’t even have the patience to sit through a professional manicure/pedicure! I wish I had the down time to have the time to do nail art, period!

i have tried nail art. i do it all the time it ranges from simple to things you just cant figure out. currently im wearing for audrey by china glaze with little flowers i painted on. christine you could do easy nail art just get a nail polish with a thin brush, as easy as dots or stripes 🙂 i feel anyone can do nail art.

Val Avatar

I really want to try but I am not allowed to wear nail polishes at work and I don’t wear sandals so there is really no reason for me to try it…

Just start small!
As a reformed nail-biter, I never even used to wear nail polish.
I started out by playing with different textures of polish, like a glossy mani with a matte french tip & progressed to shapes like polka dots (easy peasy!) & then built to leopard spots, cartoon-y animals like pandas, etc.
Once you start & realize how cute it looks, you’ll make time. 🙂

When I was a teenager, I sometimes put decals on my nails and I once had someone do nail art when I was in a wedding. All the bridesmaids had their nails painted to match the dresses, which were black and gold. I prefer to keep my nails pretty simple, though, so I don’t do anything like that now.

I do nail art maybe every 3 months or so, and the. I realize why i hate it so much, it takes forever, and one side always looks like an 8 year old did it, and if just looks uneven, oh and they never last on me, my job causes my nails to chip within 2 days… I was actually thinking of doing some nail art actually… But maybe just toy around with doing an accent nail…

I really like nail art : I’m wearing For Audrey (an aqua blue nail polish by China Glaze) with stickers of white flovers with black arabesques. When I have the time to make something more complicated, it’s nice to see your work for a week or so, and to spice up your nails.

nah…i don’t even do my nails most of the time….it’s so annoying when women spend so much time on their nails but they’re fat or look nasty lol. i don’t bother much w/ hair also after i cut it and dye it right.
but i do my make-up because it makes me prettier and i like my eyes to be bold. what guy looks at the nails first and not the face? none

Debbie Avatar

As a fat girl, weight and nice nails don’t have any scientific correlation so it is a bit ridiculous that you seem to feel that fatties, or what you deem as ‘nasty’, shouldnt have nice nails.

The world would be a lot better if we were all supportive of each others differences and open minded towards others, regardless of fitting your ideal shape or form of the human body.

Off to paint my tips and toes, and I don’t care WHO finds it annoying, they will look and be FABULOUS.

Cindy v Avatar

No makeup in the world can make someone pretty with an attitude like that, for some people painting their nails makes them happy, and who are you to say that since they’re nasty they shouldn’t bother painting their nails

Yes, it is quite fun! I have tried that water marbling stuff too, I honestly didn’t believe that it would work, but it did! Sometimes, images that I see in my Art History classes inspire me to recreate them on my nails… church ceilings seem to be the most inspirational for me. o_o

Yes! Both at salon and at home. I have quite a lot of tools like a set of brushes, glitter, sequins, decals, tiny dried flowers, crystals even gold leaves! I love it but I’m careful not to do something over the top. My dressing style is rather austere (ie black, grey and more black) and I think nail art can be a great accessory.

Yes I have but I dont get it done too often cause polishes generally dont last long on my nails and I dont do them to myself all that often cause its difficult to do it with my non dominant hand

With a Nails inc black pen I drew fruits on my nails this summer…oranges, apples, lemons, bananas, just filled the black outline with corresponding nail polishes…took ages but was fun and worth it.
Nail stickers and tatoos are big now too, amazing nail art in a matter of minutes.
Simple things are effective anyway – two tones with tips/cuticles clashing…love it, when I have the time.

Sarah Avatar

I LOVE nail art. I do my own nails and am constantly asked where I get them done. People have even offered to pay me to do their nails, but thats a no go! It does take some time and it is definitely a matter of trial and error. Try something — if it doesn’t work — try something else. Right now I have a pretty gold nail polish with blue and pink one stroke flowers. Using acrylic paint is new to me and it turned out alright.

It’s really much easier than it seems if you have the right tools, a bit of time and some good youtube videos! You can get a good brush set from sally for around ten bucks… I used to do leopard and zebra nails all the time. It usually doesn’t take me more than 15min. Sometimes drawing lines that change in thickness (like a flower stem) can be difficult, but if you practice you get the hang of it.

I don’t have the patience for those manual nail art that one have to paint on with brushes and dotting tools. Just the thought of it makes my head big. That’s why I was totally hooked when I found out about Konad nail stamping. Now I can do simple and elaborate nail designs with little effort and still have it look like I really spend hrs on them! If you haven’t tried it yet, you really should!

Chloe Avatar

I’m going to buy Konad soon…seems like it might be interesting for quick and easy nail art. I can’t wear it to work, but I’ll definitely use it on my toes.

Miss Kitty Avatar

every chance i get! my nails are always blinged up with some form of glitter polish or something searingly bright or shiny otherwise, but i once tried out a gel mani with little cakes and lollies all over- turned out really cute~!

Dini Avatar

I love to do nail art every once in a while. I have a couple of Konad plates and it makes it very easy to do up fancy nails once you get the hang of it. I’ve also found very cool nail tutorials and ideas from reading through blogs. It is fun to take the time to experiment with something other than makeup, which is usually my focus.

Sandra Avatar

Yes, I did! I got inspired by some great tutorials I’ve seen on Youtube, and decided to try some simple but cute designs… It does ask for a lot of patience, and skills, and I don’t think I am really good at it… but it was really fun, and I am eager to try again 🙂
