Guerlain Madame Batifole (860) Le Vernis Nail Lacquer ($23.00 for 0.33 fl. oz.) is described as a “deep and intense fuchsia.” It’s a rich, medium-dark raspberry red cream with cool, blue undertones. MAC Get Noticed is darker, redder, less pink. L’Oreal The Queen’s Might is brighter. Dior Graphic Berry is purpler. Chanel Suspicious is a smidgen brighter but similar. Butter Londo Blowing Raspberries is slightly darker. See comparison swatches.

It was opaque in one coat, though I used two for swatches, because two coats gives it a really rich, lush look on the nail–almost like a jelly finish because of how glossy the finish is without a top coat. The consistency wasn’t too thick or too thin, and it spread beautifully across the nail without streaking, bubbling, or pooling along the edges.  Guerlain’s lacquer formula is very impressive, with a lot of it due to its extremely glossy finish after it dries down.  It has a wider, tapered brush that works well to spread the color in one stroke, rather than multiple ones, but depending on how narrow or wide your natural nails are, it may be too wide (it is almost too wide for my pinky nail).  I typically get a full week of wear out of Guerlain’s lacquers with very minor tip wear.

Madame Batifole makes its debut online and in-stores this August.

This is so pretty 😀 , now I´m eagerly waiting for the Rouge G swatches! I wish I could buy this but don´t know if I can afford it considering everything else I want.

It is very interesting how red it pulls on you. On me it is more of a berry shade, and I really don’t get the opacity in one coat, even with two it is borderline because of gel quality of its finish… Maybe depends on how thick you apply each coat?
