Gucci Sheer Lipstick Swatches

Here are swatches of all 18 shades of Gucci Sheer Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.12 oz.) currently available. The brand has three different finishes and at $42 a pop, that’s a bit above my budget to buy all of the shades across the three ranges, so I thought the sheerer, more luminous line would be fitting to review for spring.

I love seeing your reviews of luxury lines, so thank you for showing these swatches! On that note, have you seen that Hermes is going to be launching a lipstick, in refillable packaging? I would love to see your review of a few of them, because the pricing and format seems most like Rouge Gs and I wonder how they compare! The packaging of the Hermes lipsticks (from the promo pictures at least) are extremely appealing.
These might be lovely but these swatches don’t make them look $42 lovely for me, unless they have crazy staying power. They look like they apply a bit unevenly.
They seem a bit patchy and, at least in the photo, the packaging looks a bit cheap for such an expensive lipstick. Easy pass for me.
You know how I said that I love me a good stained glass looking lipstick? These fall short of looking stellar in that department, with just a few exceptions: Odalie Red, Louisa Red, Love Before Breakfast.
1. Being so sheer, several of these colors seem totally unnecessary. They merely dupe each other.
2. Not a fan of the retro packaging. I might like it in another brand, but “Gucci” isn’t retro.
3. “Wife vs. Secretary” is a really weird name.
3 – It is weird, so I had to google it, and I think they meant the name of the 1936 movie with Jean Harlow in it. Seeing another shade named “Mae”, I think maybe they’re referencing vintage celebs? “Agatha” Christie? Very weird name.
WHAT are these shade names?! ?
I didn’t realize Gucci had relaunched their makeup. I had forgotten about the previous line.
Did these leave a stain behind, Christine? I think for a sheer lipstick formula they look good but since all the pink/berry shades look the same, it seems a bit redundant to have more than one in that family unless the pigmentation is such that they leave a different base shade behind. That being said, the price is steep for a sheer lipstick that can be duped by every other makeup brand that makes sheer formula’s including my beloved Loreal Colour Riche Shines.
I have 3 of the satin formula Gucci lip sticks.Crystal Black,Goldie Red and Three Wise Girls. And one matte in Vantine Fuchsia. The first one I tried was the sheer Goldie Red but I returned it because it didn’t last that long and the pigmentation was really light. But I love the packaging on the sheer formula’s the best. Curious to see how these review, might add one to my collection.
Yikes. I love me a good sheer lip colour that looks intense in the tube but delicate on the lips, but these are a definite pass. That price, for something that looks like faux-luxe Dollar Store packaging and any other tinted lip balm product? Yikes.
Some lovely shades but they look way too patchy for me. For the price I want something with more pigmentation.
I’m liking the look of Louisa Red, but the rest of the shades aren’t wowing me. Also at $42 each this is not a light purchase.
Loving Agatha Orange and Mae Coral, but don’t love the packaging. May have to go and swatch in person to see if they are worth $42 (yikes)!
Ah I would die for swatches and reviews of the other Metallic line With the blues and greens and fun colors!!!! I seriously have my eye on those but have NO CLUE whether or not they’ll be Good or total bombs!!!
